- Friedrich Ettel was born on June 8, 1890 in Zurich, Switzerland. He was an actor, known for A Certain Mr. Gran (1933), Tante Gusti kommandiert (1932) and Crown of Thorns (1932). He died on March 12, 1941 in Berlin, Germany.
- Swiss-born character actor, on stage from 1908. Noted in diverse character roles at the Deutsche Theater in Berlin (1930-32) under the auspices of Max Reinhardt and Gustaf Gründgens. Regularly seen in German films of the 1930's, usually as physicians, innkeepers, chemists or military men.
