Jaume Balagueró’s “Nameless” gave Filmax its first experience of fulsome international pre-sales at 1999’s Mifed, helping to usher in a golden age of Spanish auteur genre that resonates to this day.

For a while we've been glancing some tidbits from Rafa Martínez's directorial debut Sweet Home. From the images and the fact that this is produced by Carlos Fernández who is best known for producing the [Rec] franchise, one could assume what was in store with Sweet Home but the trailer clears up any misconceptions.

Finally the film that inspired Quarantine, Rec (review here), is getting a Us DVD release of its own on July 14, 2009, and the sequel we've all been waiting for got its very own website. It's a good day to be a Rec fan!
Synopsis
A beautiful TV reporter and her cameraman are doing a routine interview at a local fire station when an emergency call comes in. Accompanying the firefighters to a nearby apartment, the news team begins recording the bloodcurdling screams coming from inside an elderly woman's unit. After authorities seal off the building to contain the threat, the news crew, firefighters, and residents are trapped to face a lethal terror inside. With the camera running, nothing may survive but the film itself.
