- Born in Argentina to U.S. father and Spanish mother. Moved to New Jersey at age 2. Moved to NYC at age 9 and to Estoril, Portugal at age 10. Then studied in England and attended college at Auburn University in Alabama. Then moved to NYC followed by Paris, France where he worked as a fashion model for 5 years and attended film school. Moved to London and eventually to Los Angeles. Julian speaks 5 languages fluently. He became interested in Karate at age 12 and went on to win many international championships representing the U.S. including 2 IKA World Cup Bronze Medals in Kumite (fighting). He retired as a competitive athlete in 1996.
Julian has had multiple involvements with the intelligence and law enforcement communities in the past. His focus now is on film. After starting out as an actor, he diversified and explored every aspect of film making. He has written and sold several screenplays through his former agent William Morris and is presently moving in the direction of feature film directing.
Holds a commercial single, and multi, engine pilot's license for fixed wing aircraft.
Married and divorced Patricia Anne Dirrigl Forbes and has two daughters from the marriage, Stephanie and Tatiana.
Moved to Old Greenwich CT in 2022. Currently writing and preparing to shoot a low budget comedy feature film around aviation.
Has a German shepherd and loves all animals particularly dogs.

- In 2006, he launched Karate Athlete, Inc. with its flagship website KarateAthlete.com. Karate Athlete is the first site for any sport to provide detailed training diaries from multiple world champions. Karate Athlete was a sponsor of the 2006 WKF World Championships in Finland and is the most proactive force behind the push for Olympic inclusion of the sport of Karate.
- Best friends and ex-roommates with Sean Hepburn Ferrer, oldest son of Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer. Sean was Julian's best man at his wedding and his daughter Emma was his flower girl.
- In 2011, he created "Hollywood on the Lake" to try and promote filmmaking in the Buffalo NY area where his kids live with their mother. - Julian became good friends with director Roman Polanski when the two met accidentally stranded in Barcelona airport. They were both traveling from Ibiza to Paris but bad weather grounded them in Barcelona for a few hours. They subsequently hung out in Paris and skied in Gstaad. Julian was casting director Dominique Besnehard's first choice to co-star with Walter Matthau in Polanski's "Pirates". He remained the 1st choice for a year but ultimately Polanski thought Julian wasn't "innocent" enough for the role. This all occurred completely independent of their friendship and didn't affect it in the least. Polanski flew Julian out to the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere.
