- Persuaded 3-time Oscar-winning Cinematographer Freddie Young to do his Head-Shots in London, in preparation for a pre-production meeting with director Sir David Lean. The project was an adaptation of Joseph Conrad's "Nostromo". Lean's passing occurred just days before filming began.

- Considered his first apartment in NYC to being like a lucky rabbit's foot. The prior tenant was Elizabeth McGovern. While living there, McGovern got her first film break in Robert Redford's "Ordinary People". As luck would have it, Forman's first film, "When I Was A Boy", had its premiere at Redford's Sundance Film Festival.
