Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who has been getting a lot of positive response to her Eras Tour, has been named ‘Time’ Person of the Year by the magazine. With this, Taylor Swift has become first solo artiste and the first woman to appear twice on its annual honourary cover since the series began in 1927, reports ‘Los Angeles Times’.
She made her Person of the Year cover debut in 2017 as part of the ‘Silence Breakers’, a group of women who helped spark a cultural reckoning around sexual harassment and assault.
As per ‘Los Angeles Times’, she appeared alongside California lobbyist Adama Iwu, actor Ashley Judd, a strawberry picker identified as Isabel Pascual and software engineer Susan Fowler.
Her cover shoot features a cameo from her cat Benjamin Button, as credited in her acknowledgment post.
She told the magazine that she is “the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt.”

A New York Times editor believes it’s imperative that we forgive comedian Kevin Hart and warned that the precedent set by his public shaming could could set “a dangerous precedent.”
“In holding people accountable for their old views — even ones they realized were wrong and apologized for — we are setting standards that nobody can meet,” Susan Fowler, the paper’s technology op-ed editor, wrote in a Friday opinion piece after Hart stepped down as host of the 2019 Academy Awards following the resurfacing of old anti-gay tweets.
“The truth is, we are all guilty. Can you name a person who has not lied, said something inappropriate or hurt another? I can’t,” Fowler warned. “We must be careful about the world we are creating in the age of social media, especially since there’s no turning back.”

Former attorney general Eric Holder pitched his investigative services to a roomful of Hollywood executives on Friday, urging them to get out in front of #MeToo allegations.
Holder, now a partner at Covington & Burling, gave a presentation to about 50 corporate leaders at the firm’s Los Angeles office. The former attorney general oversaw the firm’s extensive investigation of sexual harassment claims at Uber last year, which led to the ouster of the CEO, and is now seeking to expand the investigations practice in Hollywood.
It might seem like a tough sell: Hire us, and your CEO could get fired. But Holder and two other partners, Aaron Lewis and Lindsay Burke, are selling companies on the benefits of anticipating problems before they become national news.
“The lesson of Uber is it’s vastly better to look at these issues proactively rather than reactively,” Lewis told Variety in an interview before the meeting.
