Nelly Furtado took to Instagram on Saturday to show off her battle scars following a particularly dramatic performance onstage at Coachella.

Also on social media, Furtado shared a photo of her bloodied finger after the performance. “Literally left it all on the stage,” she wrote, “including my blood.”
In footage of the incident, Furtado is seen singing the lyric “movin’ my body like a nympho” just before falling to the floor. She recovers quickly, telling the crowd, “I say it right, now do what I say.”
In the video of herself stumbling, she quipped: “Eat your man…not the stage.”

Elliot Page criticized Canada’s rollback of LGBTQ rights on the stage of the Juno Awards in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Sunday night.
“We are at a time in history where the rights of LGBTQ2+ people are being revoked, restricted and eliminated throughout the world, and the effects are devastating,” Page, a transgender Halifax native, said in a speech presenting twin singer-songwriters Tegan and Sara with the Junos’ humanitarian award. Page praised the work of the Tegan and Sara Foundation for 2Slgbtq+ youth, supporting health care services to youth programs. Earlier in the week, he said at BFI Flare, London’s LGBTQ film festival, that “30% of young people identify as LGBTQ,” referring to a survey released earlier this year about Gen Z adults in the U.S. “So I’m sorry, but this is not niche.”

“It hurts to turn the radio on
Stamina’s gone
My spirit is weak
Because every time I start to move on
Keep hearing that song
I’m brought to my knees”
-“Now or Never Now” by Metric
Although not selected for the phenomenal soundtrack for Ned Benson’s follow-up to his similarly themed The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Metric’s “Now or Never Now” nearly sums up the plot of his oft-sublime The Greatest Hits. Harriet (Lucy Boynton), a librarian mourning the loss of her boyfriend Max (David Corenswet), is triggered by songs that marked their relationship. An obsessive cataloger (a great quality for a librarian), she has mapped-out the trajectory of their relationships in songs and memorabilia that she accesses in a controlled environment. For the rest of her life there are noise-canceling headphones that she uses to block out songs that send her back into the past.

A familiar sub-genre of time travel-movies has characters going into the past to see a loved one who has died. Writer and director Ned Benson gives that idea a musical twist In The Greatest Hits. Harriet (Lucy Boynton) was in the same car crash that killed her boyfriend, Max (David Corenswet), two years before. Now whenever she hears songs they listened to together, she is carried back to the first time they experienced that music. Weighed down with grief, every night she listens to LPs, labeled “Tested” and “Untested,” searching for a way back to a moment she can alter to save Max’s life. Or, as her potential new romance, David (Justin H. Min), tells her, “So you just sit in this room, go back in time and hang out with your dead boyfriend.”
Yes, she does, and it’s an intriguing premise. Benson deftly combines the time travel,...

Back in 2002, Nelly Furtado and Juanes teamed up for “Fotografía,” a wistful guitar ballad that hit Number One on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Airplay charts. At the time, both artists had rocketed to stardom with their debut albums, Furtado with Whoa Nelly! and Juanes with Fijate Bien. “Fotografía” united two forces from different parts of the industry and put their chemistry front and center, showcasing Furtado singing in Spanish for the first time. It quickly became a standout on Juanes’ seminal sophomore album, Un Día Normal.

After having conquered first love, witches and cannibalism, Luca Guadagnino turns his attention to tennis and threesomes in Challengers. Here’s the new trailer.
Name a director with a more varied range of films than Luca Guadagnino. The Italian master of sensuality has directed Timothee Chalamet to an Oscar nomination in Call Me By Your Name, exploded plenty of heads in Suspiria and combined romance and cannibalism in Bones And All. And that’s only his last three films.
Guadagnino’s next project is Challengers. Starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, the drama is set in the competitive world of tennis.
Take a look at the second Challengers trailer.
Any film that uses Nelly Furtado’s ‘Maneater’ in the trailer shoots right to the top of my most anticipated films list.
Zendaya plays Tashi Duncan, a tennis prodigy who has to give up on her dream after an injury.

When Tate McRae broke through in 2020 with the brooding bedroom pop of her debut single “You Broke Me First,” the then-17 year-old Canadian singer stormed TikTok with such an innate understanding of how other teenagers were consuming music that RCA Records didn’t just sign her, they restructured their marketing strategy around her. But the formula behind that initial success— a combination of original dances, trend participation, and teaser snippets — hasn’t always worked for her. “She’s All I Wanna Be,” the should-have-been-hit from her 2022 debut album I Used...

By the time Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me dropped Tuesday morning, much had already been said — by critics, by the tabloids and by Spears herself, often railing against the former — about the contents of the highly anticipated book. In an excerpt and People cover story, Spears spoke about effects of her decade-plus conservatorship and revealed that she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake. When The New York Times managed to get a copy from a bookstore ahead of publication, key facts about the couple’s breakup were revealed: He did it via text message, and an ensuing interview with Diane Sawyer was one of several “breaking points” for Spears. The Daily Mail even dug up a previously unreleased audition tape for The Notebook — a role that famously went to Rachel McAdams. Nsync’s first new song in more than 20 years, “Better Place,” dropped Friday. It’s off the soundtrack for the forthcoming “Trolls Band Together,” the third film in the franchise.
The song combines modern production with a throwback vibe. Breakout Nsync star Justin Timberlake takes a lead role throughout the song, as he often did in the band’s heyday. But each of the group’s singers get their own chance to shine throughout as they also deliver Nsync’s signature harmonies. The band did an interview with “Hot Ones” that premiered earlier this month talking about the recording of the track and what they were aiming for: “nostalgic but familiar,” according to Timberlake.
Nsync were scheduled to perform the song at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month, but those plans were iced thanks to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike earlier this month, Nsync member Lance Bass told E! News.

The BFFs appeared to be getting ready for dinner at an ocean-front venue.
It’s gonna be kinda hard to calm down about this.
Taylor Swift snapped a couple of selfies with Selena Gomez and the “Baila Conmigo” songstress on Saturday posted the pics on Instagram. It appears the BFFs were getting ready to break bread when Taylor snapped the pics. The setting looked pretty amazing, with the ocean serving as their backdrop.
In the first photo the dynamic duo is smiling, as Selena rests her right hand over Taylor’s shoulder. In the second pic, Selena puckers her lips but it’s Taylor who plants a smooch on Selena’s cheek. The snaps seemed pretty impromptu, as the people in the background look a bit blurry. Either way, the focus is on the two gals, and rightfully so.
Selena captioned the post, “Thas my best frien -she a real bad.

Rapper Drake encouraged Nelly Furtado’s musical comeback. Nelly, 44, revealed that fellow Canadian Drake, 36, – who invited her to be a surprise guest for his All-Canadian North Stars event in Toronto last summer – reminded her about her legacy and value to the music industry and urged her to get back in the studio to work on new music.
She told Variety: “I have more gratitude nowadays, so I know how blessed I am to be a performer and creator. I’m really leaning into my profession. I met Drake a year ago and we had some deep conversations about life and art and he blew up my head reminding me what a valuable artist I am and told me to ‘boss up’ and make new music, and I listened. So, I couldn’t say no when he invited me on stage, I had to be brave and boss up and start the next chapter.
