Shudder is a streaming service that is specifically dedicated to the horror genre, so it’s only fitting that we here on Arrow in the Head should compile a list of the Best Horror Movies on Shudder Right Now. As with all streamers, Shudder has movies that come and go on a regular basis, but if you head over there today here are some of the best movies you can find on the service:
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
Yes, George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead seems to be available on nearly every streaming service there is, and that’s because the movie is in the public domain due to the copyright notice accidentally being left off the film print. After receiving a limited theatrical release just last month, Bloody Disgusting has learned today that sequel The Wrath of Becky will be heading home later this week.
The Wrath of Becky hits Digital outlets – rental & purchase – on Friday, June 16!
Meagan wrote in her review of The Wrath of Becky for Bd, “Armed with John Wick-like motivation, Becky plunges into a vengeful quest that provokes more violence, bloodletting, and a higher body count. This time a more well-rounded sense of humor offsets her wrath.”
In the film, “Two years after she escaped a violent attack on her family, Becky attempts to rebuild her life in the care of an older woman – a kindred spirit named Elena. But when a group known as the “Noble Men” break into their home, attack them, and take her beloved dog, Diego, Becky must return to her old ways to protect herself and her loved ones.

Happy #RobertEnglundDay!
About one third of the 150+ acting credits accumulated over the course of Robert Englund’s 50-year career fall under the horror genre. Screambox is streaming five of them, along with the all-new documentary, Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story.
Here are six Robert Englund movies you can watch on Screambox now…
Galaxy of Terror
Before moving to Elm Street, Englund went to space for 1981’s Galaxy of Terror, the first of two back-to-back Alien knock-offs produced by Roger Corman. The film follows a ragtag spaceship crew on a rescue mission to a barren planet, where they encounter a deadly creature. In a slight twist on Ridley Scott’s sci-fi/horror classic, Galaxy of Terror uses its victims’ own fears against them — which, incidentally, is similar to Freddy’s modus operandi.

Plot: Becky decimated a quartet of neo-Nazis when she was just 13 years old. Now a couple years have passed, and she finds herself up against a new group of enemies.
Review: The pandemic shut the world down in March of 2020. But a few months later, directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion gifted a nation of shut-ins with a special treat: the thriller Becky, which has been described as an “ultra violent Home Alone”. Playing in drive-ins across America before heading to VOD, Becky earned $1 million at the domestic box office during that troubled time. In the long run, it made enough money and caught enough attention to get a sequel greenlit… and now we have The Wrath of Becky. A sequel that comes from an entirely new creative team, who decided to make a tonal shift that might not sit well with some fans of the original.

You just don’t mess with someone’s dog. If John Wick has taught us anything, it’s that. Quiver Distribution has dropped a gruesome red-band trailer for The Wrath of Becky, which follows the title character as she attempts to rescue her beloved dog, Diego, after he’s taken by a fascist organization. Check out the Wrath of Becky trailer above!
The first movie must have slipped completely under my radar, as I had no idea that Wrath of Becky was a sequel to anything. I should probably make an effort to check out that first film because Wrath of Becky looks like an absolute blast. You really can’t go wrong with blood-soaked revenge. Here’s the official synopsis: “Two years after she escaped a violent attack on her family, Becky attempts to rebuild her life in the care of an older woman – a kindred spirit named Elena.

Where 2020's "Becky" is an underage child's fight for survival based on primal instincts, Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote's sequel "The Wrath of Becky" plays more like a comic book panel massacre. That's not a bad thing if you're into watching a Girl Scout assassin brutalize Proud Boys lookalikes with a smile on her face. Violence emphasizes excessive gore, real bad dudes get what's coming, and the action hero mold is flipped on its head with Becky front and center. Angel and Coote brighten the mood versus "Becky" and embrace the B-movie nature of Becky's somewhat unstoppable spree. Still, this time, there's less suspenseful impact by trading feral ferocity for this almost superhero nature that leans into Becky's franchise potential.
Lulu Wilson returns as a now older, now deadlier Becky, the survivor of an attack that left her father dead (Rip Joel McHale) and the Neo-Nazis responsible. After an...

Seven months have gone by since we heard the awesome news that production had wrapped on The Wrath of Becky, a sequel to the very cool “ultra violent Home Alone” thriller Becky (watch it Here, read the 9/10 review the film received from our own Lance Vlcek Here). We still don’t know when The Wrath of Becky is going to receive a wide release, but it has been announced that the movie is going to have a world premiere screening at the South by Southwest film festival in March – and along with that announcement comes the unveiling of a first look image, which can be seen at the bottom of this article. The image shows our heroine Becky, played by Lulu Wilson (Annabelle: Creation), at a moment where she’s soaked with blood.

Holy hell this year’s SXSW Film Festival isn’t messing around.
The official lineup has just been revealed and it’s a banger, starting off with a special screening of Evil Dead Rise!
In addition, they have several prominent horror titles that will premiere as part of the Midnighters program, including the Sundance hit Talk to Me and the surprise sequel to Becky, The Wrath of Becky!
“Midnighters don’t need to be exclusively horror films, they just need to perk you up and get your blood pumping,” said Peter Hall, Film & TV Festival Programmer. “That’s why this year’s SXSW Midnighters class is a mix of horror, bone-crunching action, and mind-melting genre hybrids. Some of them introduce new, terrifying lore to the canon of suburban horror movies, some will worm around in your brain like thoughts you can’t shake, but all of them will make you...

It’s time for a new episode of the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series, and in this one we’re looking back at a movie that most horror fans have probably heard of before. But have you actually seen it? The movie is Children of the Corn (watch it Here) – the 1984 Stephen King adaptation that kicked off a franchise that doesn’t have the greatest reputation. But if you’ve been avoiding the first Children of the Corn because you’ve heard negative things about the series, we’ve put together the video embedded above to tell you why you should give it a chance.
Directed by Fritz Kiersch from a screenplay by George Goldsmith (based on a King short story), Children of the Corn has the following synopsis:

Set in the 1980s, somewhere around Christmas, Hellblazers is yet another original offering from Tubi, at least in some territories. Writer/director Justin Lee isn’t exactly somebody I expect a good film from, but even he can’t go wrong with a cast that includes Tony Todd, Billy Zane, Bruce Dern, Adrienne Barbeau and a few other genre vets, can he?
Wheelchair-bound Nam vet Bill Unger (Dern) is out visiting his wife’s grave when he hears something in the woods. He rolls over to the edge of the trees just in time to see Joshua (Zane) and his followers toss someone in a flaming pit, and a demon climbs out. As he aptly puts it, “We’ve got a big problem”.

Arrebato: "Horror movie director José is adrift in a sea of doubt and drugs. As his belated second feature nears completion, his reclusive bubble is popped by two events: a sudden reappearance from an ex-girlfriend and a package from past acquaintance Pedro: a reel of Super-8 film, an audiotape, and a door key. From there, the boundaries of time, space, and sexuality are erased as José is once more sucked into Pedro’s vampiric orbit. Together, they attempt the ultimate hallucinogenic catharsis through a moebius strip of filming and being filmed."

"Do you think I'll ever be normal again?" Gravitas Ventures has unveiled an official trailer for an indie sci-fi thriller titled River, not to be confused with the documentary film titled River we also posted a trailer for this week. The film is about a young woman named River Allen, who has been spiraling emotionally out of control after her mother's death. She is haunted by nightmarish imagery and when her friend tries to help her, she discovers she has even more secrets buried within. Where has she been and what's really going on? The indie film stars Mary Cameron Rogers as River, with Alexandra Rose, Rob Marshall, Courtney Gains, and Becki Hayes. "A taut, psychological sci-fi thriller, River is written, directed, produced and shot by Emily Skye," making her feature debut. I wonder if River really has powers or was abducted? Or if it's just a gimmick to tell...

This July, 1984 Publishing will be releasing the official soundtrack to 1984's Children of the Corn! With plans for a vinyl LP, along with cassette and CD editions, we have details on the new release and a look at the artwork from “Ghoulish” Gary Pullin:
Cleveland, Oh — At the time of its release in 1984, parents and critics alike were outraged at the pack of killer kids featured in Stephen King’s Children of the Corn.
Rolling Stone magazine: “Seven months before The Terminator hit theaters, Linda Hamilton was being terrorized by a completely different menacing force: A nightmarish cavalcade of creepily angelic tykes causing unspeakable horrors amidst the vast, empty stretches of the Midwest.”
Naturally, the film has become a bona fide ‘80s horror cult classic and spawned many sequels.

"C'mon, be one of us!" Universal Pics + Gravitas have debuted an official trailer for a comedy titled Queen Bees, a film from filmmaker Michael Lembeck. While her house undergoes repairs, fiercely independent senior Helen moves into a nearby retirement community ― just temporarily. Once inside the Pine Grove Senior Community, she encounters lusty widows, cutthroat bridge tournaments and a hotbed of bullying "mean girls" the likes of which she hasn't encountered since high school, all of which leaves her yearning for the solitude of her home. But somewhere between flower arranging and water aerobics Helen discovers that it's never too late to make new friends and perhaps even find a new love. Of course. The film stars Ellen Burstyn, Ann-Margret, Jane Curtin, Loretta Devine, with James Caan, Christopher Lloyd, Elizabeth Mitchell, Matthew Barnes, French Stewart, Alec Mapa, Marianne Muellerleile, and Courtney Gains. *full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by director Andy Palmer. Director: Andy Palmer. Writer: Alex Carl. Cast: Chad Michael Murray, Danielle Harris, Courtney Gains and Michael Eric Reid. Camp Cold Brook is an indie title from director Andy Palmer (The Funhouse Massacre) and new screenwriter Alex Carl; famous horror director Joe Dante (Gremlins) also co-produced this feature. More of a supernatural thriller than a horror film, Camp Cold Brook focuses on bringing the tension through the periphery. A witch is constantly hovering just off of screen, in search of vengeance. Starring Scream Queen Danielle Harris (Halloween 4), Chad Michael Murray (House of Wax) and Courtney Gains, this title utilizes a great setting, to tell a tale of remembrance. A bit stale in the first act, events pick-up in the middle and in the end as cursed characters emerge from the gloomy water. Camp Cold Brook is a decent thriller,...

We’ve got a trailer for a new indie Halloween-themed horror film for you to check out today called Candy Corn. I like the creepy vibe of the film as it tells the tale of a group of freaks who are out for blood and revenge in a small town during the Season of the Witch.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
It’s the eve of Halloween in Grove Hill, Ohio. A traveling carnival is in town for the weekend and local outcast, Jacob Atkins, has been hired as one of the freaks in the event’s main attraction, “Dr. Death’s Side Show Spook House Spectacular.” Meanwhile, a group of local bullies are planning their annual public hazing of Jacob, but this year, things go too far.
