- He captured his 5th national title in 2005 with the Texas Longhorns. Six time National Coach of the Year (1975, 1979, 1984, 1995, 2002, 2005) He won his 500th game as Skipper of the Texas Longhorns on April 8, 2008, improving his overall record to 1,651-633-8 over 39 seasons.
