He’s acted with Anthony Hopkins and Laurence Oliver, had two No1 singles and fooled the nation in a spoof documentary. Ask him anything, but keep it respectful
There’s a lot more to Neil Morrissey than you might think. His first ever film role was opposite Mel Gibson, Anthony Hopkins and Laurence Olivier in 1984 historical mariner drama, The Bounty. He’s appeared with Martin Clunes as a fictitious former new romantic pop group in Hunting Venus and was in the film adaptation of the John Godber rubbish-rugby team drama Up ‘n’ Under. On stage, he’s tackled Robin Hood, Guy and Dolls and Oliver. And he’s had two No 1 singles, Can We Fix It and Mambo No 5, under his guise as the voice of a certain children’s TV character, Bob the Builder.

"Do you feel the power of the Gladiators? Can you face the challenge of the champions? Do you have the courage of the heroes?
"Do you have the will or the skill? Do you have the strength, the speed the heart to be a winner? Deep down in your Soul?"
These were the fundamental questions posed by ITV's original Gladiators, to both the audience and brave contenders who dared to take part. While this particular writer longed to be Lightning (her backflips were to die for), all the seemingly superhuman powerhouses were forces to reckon with - only occasionally tamed by strict referee John Anderson.
Originally hosted by John Fashanu and Ulrika Jonsson, Gladiators was what Saturday nights in the '90s were made of.
So as Saracen (aka Mike Lewis) returns to our small screens to tackle the Ninja Warrior UK obstacle course, we pick out some of the...

Former Hollyoaks star Zoë Lister has insisted that she has no regrets over her decision to quit the soap. The actress departed her role as Zoe Carpenter late last year, and her character's final episode was screened in January. Lister is currently appearing in a touring production of the John Godber play Teechers, which focuses on three students and their experiences at secondary school. Speaking to the Derby Telegraph about moving on from the world of soap, Lister explained: "I could have stayed for years and years and enjoyed a comfortable existence, but I wanted to explore new things. "It (more)...

A 3-D musical version of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" is being planned by Elsinore Films.
The movie will be the first of six adaptations of Shakespeare's plays based on musical version by U.K. theater company Shakespeare 4 Kidz (is that the medieval spelling of kids?).
The other five films in the series are "Macbeth," "Romeo and Juliet," "A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Twelfth Night" and "The Tempest."
British playwright John Godber is set to direct.
The first three films in the series will be produced back to back over 18 months.
As far as "Hamlet" is concerned, the producers want to include a ghost that hovers in front of your eyes, cannon fire that flies into the auditorium, and a sword fight with multiple angle views.
Hhhmmmmm, the best 3-D movies are the ones with less gimmicks, just keep that in mind :happy...

Throughout the history of filmmaking Shakespeare's plays have been a crucible and challenge for directors who wanted to really prove how legit they were. It's a chance for someone like Ethan Hawke to spout soliloquies, Laurence Olivier to go in blackface, and in one the loosest adaptations, Julia Stiles wrote her own sonnet. But there's Shakespeare as artistic endeavor, and then there's Shakespeare as pure commercialism. That's where we find the upcoming series from the U.K. theater company Shakespeare 4 Kidz-- if that title nauseates you, give up now-- which will be producing six 3-D musical versions of Shakespeare plays, starting with Hamlet. Unfortunately, it gets even worse-- according to Variety, they'll stage a televised, American Idol-style show to pick the leads for Romeo & Juliet. Other plays scheduled for the chopping block are Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night and The Tempest. John Godber, who has written British...
