Garth Ennis has been a highly respected comics writer for well over 20 years now, creating some of the most badass storylines for several of the best modern genre-related comic series including Preacher, The Punisher, The Boys and Hellblazer.
Now the acclaimed storyteller is taking his career in a brand-new direction: writing and directing, and Ennis celebrated the world premiere of his short film Stitched during the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con Independent Film Festival last week.
During the convention Dread Central had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Ennis about his directorial debut Stitched and how he plans to balance out his directing career alongside his career in the comic world (which he has no plans for leaving behind any time soon despite his jump into filmmaking).
Check out our video interview with Ennis below, and look for more on Stitched very soon!

This past weekend After Dark's Horrorfest 4 rolled out the red carpet for writer/director Brian Pulido's entry into the genre film fest, The Graves, at the Beverly Center.
On hand for the event was Pulido as well as Graves stars Bill Moseley, Jillian Murray, Clare Grant, and Shane Stevens. Dread Central's Heather Wixson was on the scene to capture all the excitement from the carpet.
Synopsis:
"In The Graves, two inseparable sisters, Megan (Grant) and Abby (Murray) Graves, are taking one last wild road trip before Megan has to start a new job. The journey includes a trip through remote Arizona in search of a kitschy roadside attraction. Instead, Megan and Abby happen on Skull City Mine, a weather-beaten, abandoned mine town converted into a self-guided tour. What seems like a fun day in the sun turns into a mind-bending fight for survival against menaces both human and supernatural.

The words and pictures just keep comin’ from the Graves camp; today we got ahold of the latest character/teaser poster (depicting Shane Stevens’ Jonah Lee Atwood), along with comments on the production from Nick Gallegos, the movie’s assistant editor and digital assets manager. You can see ’em all below.
Gallegos (pictured) was cinematographer Adam Goldfine’s right-hand man as they captured footage on the top-of-the-line Red One digital camera, and also worked alongside producers Dean and Brian Ronalds during the picture edit and Goldfine again for color correction. “I’ve been involved in this film from the first day of shooting in April 2008 all the way up to the film’s completion last month,” Gallegos tells us, adding that when it came to the Red One, “There was definitely a learning curve. There were several bugs and hiccups we had to work out during both production and postproduction.
