- Simon's previous writing partner was actress Samantha Beckinsale - half sister to actress Kate Beckinsale and daughter of the late Richard Beckinsale.

The author has appeared on national TV and written articles about the book for The Sunday Mercury, Birmingham Mail and Reader's Digest. The author and filmmakers were rewarded with a prestigious Broadcast Award - Best Documentary Programme in 2016. Interview With a Murder also won a Royal Television Award at the RTS Television Journalism Awards 2017.
