"What you see is real. What's done is done and what I've done is right. It's the work of science." Scream Factory will take viewers back to the mad doctor's lab with their upcoming Blu-ray debut of Joseph Green's The Brain That Wouldn't Die. Ahead of the Blu-ray's December 22nd release, we have a high-def clip and trailer from the film.
The Brain That Wouldn't Die Blu-ray: "Medical science leaps light years into the future in this "great, absurd movie" (The Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film) that explores the strange world of transplants, cloning and mutant regeneration. Strangely relevant in today's ethically challenged world, this presents a truly psycho surgery case and is "one of the great sci-fi sleaze classics" (Starlog).
When Dr. Bill Cortner loses his sweetheart, Jan, in a car accident, he refuses to give up hope for her life. Scooping up her decapitated head, he brings it...

Forget your 'Jan in the Pan' jokes and all those 'thing in the closet' remarks about gay subtext. This loopy, kooky and kinky horror offering from New York's Tarrytown is a keeper despite its primitive direction and campy screenplay. Mad scientist Herb Evers answered the call to Bring Me the Head of Virginia Leith, and goes on a sleazy shopping spree to find a voluptuous body to make her complete, in the literal sense. It's all in the worst of taste: in other words, delightful. Winston Churchill, Harriet Jones, Harold Saxon... As we all head to the voting booths, how have UK prime ministers fared in Doctor Who?
Incarnations of the Doctor are a bit like British prime ministers. They usually last four to five years in real time and, despite having different faces, a cynic could say that they're all pretty much the same beneath the surface. But that's the stuff of Media Studies dissertations, in fact, Doctor Who has a far dimmer view of the UK executive in the show itself.
Over the course of fifty-odd years, the office of prime minister has been both the target and agent of satire and parody in a show that deals with an onslaught of alien activity on British soil in the past, present and future.
As we're all going to the polls today to pick who we want in Downing Street, here's our look back...

Three people have been charged in relation to chaining four mentally disabled adults to a boiler in a Philadelphia basement, MSNBC is reporting. The captives were found as officers were investigating a report of squatters in a building on October 15. Three men and a woman were found in a 15-by-15-foot room whose steel door was chained shut. Two of the victims are believed to have been held for as long as 11 years. Police Sergeant Joseph Green said the four victims were likely victims of Social Security fraud. Officer and police spokeswoman Tanya Little added that the room, which held a makeshift bed, mattress and sheets, was too small...

The first, and maybe rather incidental grumble about the first two parter of the 21st century revival of Who (the equivalent of a four-part story) is that it's a bit of a mouthful. It's easy enough to say, "Did you see The Deadly Assassin?" but try saying "Did you see Aliens Of London slash World War Three?" Nonsense, isn't it? If they ever re-release the post-2005 stories separately on DVD, there'll be problems. Say that this story gets re-released in 2025 with remastered running Slitheen and an all-new commentary with the remote control kid, the bloke who moans about Livingstone and the "Oy gawjus, come back and join duh party" girl – you'll need a magnifying glass to read the title down the spine.
So for practical reasons, I'll refer to the story as Aliens Three – just don't get it confused with the 1992 film sequel. It's more of a compact way of summing up the story anyway,...
