In March, Trump launched a Maga-based Bible that included lyrics to “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood, the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and other notable American documents. Trump’s Maga Bible was widely mocked by both sides online, including a segment on Saturday Night Live.
In his sermon at the Central Church of North Carolina, evangelical Pastor Loran Livingston shared his thoughts on Trump’s new product. A Livingston video was shared with TikTok and X, where it went viral for his heated words.
“No, no. It’s disgusting! It’s blasphemous! It’s a ploy! Are you kidding me? Some of you are so encouraged by that. Let me tell you something. The gospel is not an American gospel. It is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!”
This evangelical is over Trump.

Country-rock stalwarts Alabama have enlisted Old Dominion, Shenandoah, and more for June Jam Xviii, taking place June 1 at the Vfw Fairgrounds in Fort Payne, Alabama.
Alabama will close out the day, which will also feature performances from Lee Greenwood, Montgomery Gentry (featuring Eddie Montgomery), Mark Willis, Exile, John Berry, Taylor Hicks, the Malpass Brothers, and the Castellows. A special surprise guest — described only as a “hitmaking singer-songwriter” in a press release — will take the stage, too, though obviously no further details were given.
The June Jam Festival returned last year after a 26-year hiatus.

“Weekend Update” hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che had plenty of jokes on last night’s “Saturday Night Live,” but the highlight came when they dug into Donald Trump’s $60 “God Bless the USA” Bibles.
Jost joked that the special edition book, which has a cut of sales going to the former president’s reelection campaign, is a bit different than your typical Christian Standard version. Trump’s Bible ends with “Jesus’ disciples storming Jerusalem to overturn the results of the crucifixion,” he said.
“Donald Trump has partnered with country music star Lee Greenwood to sell a $60 special edition of the Bible that also includes the Constitution, the lyrics to Greenwood’s ‘God Bless the USA’ and I assume God’s letter of resignation,” Jost joked, introducing the segment.
“This Bible is mostly the same,” he went on, “but Trump’s version ends with Jesus’ disciples storming Jerusalem to overturn the results of the crucifixion.

Saturday Night Live mocked Donald Trump’s most recent venture — promoting the “God Bless the USA Bible” — on its most recent episode.
The product, which is “inspired by” country musician Lee Greenwood’s song “God Bless the USA,” is being sold for $59.99. It includes the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the Pledge of Allegiance and the handwritten chorus to “God Bless the USA.”
In Saturday’s cold open, Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) noted that it’s Easter — “the time of year when I compare myself to Jesus Christ. That’s just the thing I do now and people seem to be Ok with it. I’m gonna keep doing it. And if you think that this is a bad look, imagine how weird it would be if I started selling Bibles. Well, I’m selling Bibles.”

Colin Jost and Michael Che took shots at Donald Trump and Ronna McDaniel on Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update.”

Former President Donald Trump was roasted for selling the God Bless The USA Bible with the country music singer Lee Greenwood for $60 each online.
On Monday, Trump posted a video on his Truth Social platform asking his supporters to purchase the Bibles.
The title was inspired by Greenwood’s patriotic ballad, “God Bless The USA.”
“Happy Holy Week,” the former president wrote in his Truth Social post. “Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible.”
He also added a link to a website selling the book for $59.99.
“This Bible is the King James version and also includes our founding father documents – yes the constitution – which I’m fighting for every single day – very hard to keep Americans protected,” he said. “Also, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and...

Even with a New York appeals court lowering Donald Trump’s outstanding bond in his fraud case from $464 million to $175 million on Monday, the alleged billionaire and presumptive Republican nominee is still facing numerous other potentially costly legal proceedings, owes the woman he sexually assaulted over $80 million, and is lagging far behind President Joe Biden in campaign fundraising for the upcoming election. So naturally, the thrice-divorced guy who is currently on criminal trial for paying hush money to a porn star with whom he cheated on his third wife is hawking the holiest thing he can get his hands on, the Bible.

After a day of historic indignity — spent getting booked and arraigned at a Manhattan courthouse — former president Donald Trump retreated to his safe space, Mar-a-Lago, where he delivered an embittered televised address to the nation.
Trump entered his ballroom to the strains of Lee Greenwood’s “I’m Proud to be an American.” The crowd chanted “USA! USA!” as he took the podium in front of a backdrop of American flags, ready to reassert himself after a day of powerlessness in court.

In the wake of Kanye West’s horrific media tour spouting love for Hitler, denying the Holocaust, and preaching naked antisemitism, many far-right members of the GOP are scrubbing their social media feeds of past praise for the rapper. After a string of performers pulled out of this weekend’s planned NRA “Grand Ol’ Night of Freedom” concert in Houston, the musical event apparently has been canceled.

Kerry Chater, the bassist and co-founder of ’60s hitmakers Gary Puckett & the Union Gap who went on to score multiple country hits and a Grammy nom as a songwriter, has died. He was 77.
Local Nashville paper The Williamson Source said he died February 4 in the Tennessee capital. No cause of death was given.
Chater was born on August 7, 1945, in Vancouver and began playing in local bands by the mid-’60s. When one of his bandmates left to form Iron Butterfly, Chater joined a band fronted by Gary Puckett that would become the Union Gap. There are two songs that are completely guaranteed to be played over the Pa at any 4th of July celebration in America: Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” and Katy Perry’s “Firework.” Since Greenwood allowed himself to become the closest thing Donald J. Donald Trump’s acceptance speech on the South Lawn of the White House capped a week of moments that likely will be a lasting legacy of the 2020 Republican National Convention: The blurred lines it created between official government and partisan business.
The convention showed Trump’s determination to shatter norms for the purpose of reality TV like stunts and dramatic backdrops, even if it already has yielded ethics complaints.
From the standpoint of using the White House as a set, it certainly worked for the 1,500 or so who shed masks and other Covid-19 protocols to witness Trump’s speech in person, the prize being a fireworks show at the end.
Fox News’ chief White House correspondent John Roberts caught some flak on Twitter for writing favorably about the use of the location. “Incumbency is a powerful bully pulpit. The genie is out of the bottle,” he tweeted.

Donald Trump would probably never claim to be a Leonard Cohen fan, but that didn’t stop him or his campaign from choosing to use the Canadian artist’s signature song, “Hallelujah,” not once but twice following the conclusion of his speech at the Republican National Convention Thursday night.
Many Cohen fans were displeased when they heard Tori Kelly’s recording of the song playing during the fireworks that capped Trump’s address — sandwiched right between “She’s a Grand Old Flag” and Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” as pyrotechnics spelled out “Trump” and “2020” over the Washington mall.
Said fans were even less enthused when “Hallelujah” was quickly reprised, on camera and at greater volume, in an operatic rendition by Christopher Macchio.

The gala raised more than $1 million to build adaptive homes for severely wounded U.S. military veterans while also honoring former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, ‘Lone Survivor’ Marcus Luttrell, and entertainer Kathie Lee Gifford.
Greenwood, an enthusiastic supporter of Helping a Hero and a 2017 recipient of the prestigious Point of Light Award from the late President George H.W. Bush, presented The Lee Greenwood Award to Kathie Lee Gifford. This marks his 8th consecutive year attending and supporting the annual gala.

Music evokes many emotions in people, and never was that more evident than in this week’s music news.
In Hong Kong, the street protests have adopted a new anthem to fuel passions, while on the domestic front, President Donald Trump managed to get into a dust-up with the Prince estate. He also found time to put down “little” Bruce Springsteen and let the world know that he didn’t need any music superstars to appear at his rallies in order to draw a crowd (perhaps disappointing Lee Greenwood and Toby Keith).
This week in music:
The Prince And The President: Prince’s estate was miffed at President Donald Trump this week for playing Purple Rain at his Minneapolis rally. Trump’s attorneys previously promised that they would not use Prince’s music in connection with the campaign activities. It was unlikely that Trump had anything to do with the music selection at the rally,...

On the eve of “The Voice” Top 4 performing in the final on May 20, we polled viewers to see who they want to win season 16. Their clear favorite in our best to work power rankings is Maelyn Jarmon, who enjoys an overwhelming lead with 53% of the total tally as of this writing. She is being coached by rookie John Legend.
Of the three men from Team Blake Shelton, Gyth Rigdon is the highest rated with 33%, followed by Dexter Roberts at just 10% and Andrew Sevener with only 4%. A win by one of them would bring Blake his long-elusive seventh victory on the show. Reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson lost her last artist (Rod Stokes) last week while Adam Levine didn’t get any of his team into the Top 8.
It isn’t surprising that Maelyn is so far ahead given the stellar sales of her Top 8 performance of “Stay” by Rihanna. She reached #3 on iTunes,...

Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice” saw the Top 8 cut in half with just four artists remaining in contention to win season 16. Only two of the four coaches are still in the competition: Blake Shelton, who has been with the show since it launched, is mentoring three artists while newcomer John Legend has just one.
Reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson saw her last artist (Rod Stokes) lose the Instant Save. The fourth coach, Adam Levine, had his last artists eliminated at the Top 13 stage of the competition.
Which of these Top 4 do you think sounds most like a winner? After reviewing the sales results of their tracks from the Top 8 live show on May 13, vote in our poll as to your choice for champ and we will report back with your rankings. And be sure to sound off in the comments section.

On Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” the Top 8 artists coached by Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton performed. The goal for each contestant was to stream the most songs on Apple Music/iTunes by Tuesday at 7 a.m Et/4 a.m. Pt so that they reaped the benefit of a five-times vote multiplier.
We can report that Maelyn Jarmon from Team John Legend registered enough sales to have earned this bonus for the second week running for her performance of “Stay” by Rihanna. And her Top 13 ( “The Scientist”) and Top 24 (“Fallingwater”) songs are still in the top 100. Of Maelyn’s competition, six other artists made the top 100. (See the full list of songs and where they ranked below.)
Of these, only one cracked the Top 10 with Gyth Rigdon coming in at #9 for his rendition of the rousing “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood. This Team Blake Shelton...

Monday night during the Top 8 performance episode of “The Voice,” country artist Gyth Rigdon of Team Blake Shelton took on Lee Greenwood‘s “God Bless the U.S.A.” for America’s vote. Season 16 of “The Voice” is almost over, and it’s time for the Top 8 performance show on Monday. Four of these artists will be good enough to make it into next week’s finale. Four singers will be eliminated tomorrow night. Six-time coaching winner Blake Shelton has an amazing five of the eight contestants remaining. Two-time reigning champ Kelly Clarkson has one artist, while newcomer John Legend has two left. Adam Levine is done for this season.
For tonight’s two-hour episode hosted by Carson Daly, here’s how the competition will work:
Each of the eight contenders will perform individually. They will also be paired up for duets on hit songs by The Beatles. On Tuesday’s results show, three will advance forward through public voting. Two will immediately be eliminated on that program. Three will perform for an Instant Save on social media, with just one joining the Top 4 finale next week.

Monday’s two-hour episode of “The Voice” will showcase the Top 8 singing for America’s votes. As with the Top 13 last week, this round does not see the coaches coming into the show with evenly matched teams. Blake Shelton still has five artists in the competition while the other veteran coach, Adam Levine, has none. Reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson has only a single artist left and rookie coach John Legend counts two on his team.

President Donald Trump is planning a party, and you’re invited if you happen to be in Washington, DC on July 4.
The event, “A Salute to America,” will take place at the Lincoln memorial and feature fireworks, entertainment and a speech by President Trump. It’s not the major military parade once envisioned, and it remains to be seen who beyond Lee Greenwood may perform. But there are a few months left to recruit, and judging from Trump’s rising poll numbers, there may be a surprise or two.
Also saluted this morning are North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, who will meet with Trump in Hanoi this week, and China President Xi, who is being helpful in trade talks and with North Korea, according to the optimistic tweetstorm.
The one thing missing so far from the communications: no Oscars predictions.

Let’s face it – most musicians don’t like President Donald Trump. That was underlined on Friday, when R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills took to Twitter to protest the use of his band’s song Everybody Hurts on a video from the State of the Union speech.
Mills reacted when President Trump retweeted the video to his massive online following. So today, the people who made the video – slugged Carpedonktum – changed up the music. Instead of R.E.M., they used the Trump theme song, Lee Greenwood’s God Bless The USA. Trump blasted it out again.
So far, no word from the disgruntled Mills. Maybe he’s listening to another of his own songs: Ignoreland, from the album Automatic for the People.
So far, it’s been a video Saturday for the president, as he also posted a clip of a short speech on border control.
The tweetstorm so far:

President Donald Trump had been scheduled to close out 2018 with a 16-day vacation at Mar-a-Lago, up from the 11 days he spent at the “Winter White House” to bring home his first year in office. But prior to Christmas, the president decided to shut down the government because Congress won’t fund a border wall. The display of obstinance involved sticking around Washington for the holidays. “It’s a disgrace what’s happening in this country,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Christmas morning. “But other than that, I wish everybody a merry Christmas.

Sean Hannity insists he is no “special guest” of Donald Trump and will be covering tonight’s rally just as he has done “in every election in the past.”
Both Hannity and Rush Limbaugh were announced as “special guests” – along with country singer and Trump supporter Lee Greenwood – in a White House announcement yesterday. Even today, Trump’s campaign website promotes tonight’s rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri “w/Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, & Lee Greenwood.”
When CNN, among other Fox News rivals, noted the odd situation, Fox News responded that Hannity will be hosting his Fox News Channel show from the rally tonight, and plans to interview the president.
Hannity himself tweeted, “In spite of reports, I will be doing a live show from Cape Girardeau and interviewing President Trump before the rally. To be clear, I will not be on stage campaigning with the President. I am covering final rally for my show.

President Donald Trump held a rally Thursday night at the Las Vegas Convention Center, his first since canceling a series of rallies last week because of Hurricane Florence.
The rally happened as his pick for the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, faces unexpected turbulence from a revelation of possible sexual misconduct in high school. A somewhat hoarse Trump briefly touched on the issue, noting, “I’m not saying anything about anybody else – but Brett Kavanaugh is one of the finest human beings you will ever have the privilege of knowing or meeting. As to the current scandal, “We gotta let it play out – but he is a fine, fine person.” Trump added: “I think everything is going to be just fine.”

Kanye West Won’t Be at Inauguration as Planners Say They Invited ‘Traditionally American’ Performers
Despite rumors to the contrary, rapper Kanye West was never asked to perform at “friend” President-elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration. As for what will take place, chair of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, Tom Barrack, told CNN that the events planned will “be typically and traditionally American.”

He added, “Kanye is a great guy but we just haven’t asked him to perform.
