The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is once again directed by Marc Webb, stars Andrew Garfield as the titular hero, alongside Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn and Paul Giamatti as Rhino, as well as Felicity Jones, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, Brian Haley, Colm Feore, and B.J. Novak.
And it’s this new image of Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn / Green Goblin which reveals just how awful the new Spider-Man movie is set to be. Less Green Goblin and more techno-suited meth addict methinks!
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). The wait is over! The second trailer for highly anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man 2 leaked earlier in the month, but was sadly swiftly removed from the surface of the Internet.
It was always just a matter of time before its return, though, and now Sony have (re-)launched the trailer this morning. And if you saw it the first time around, you’ll know it’s definitely worth the wait. Emma Stone’s expression when she shouts Peter’s name near the end is just brilliant.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep.

Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is undeniably one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the year, sure to be one of the highest earners at the box office in the coming months.
Sony launched a brilliant first trailer in time for Christmas last year, setting the tone masterfully for the second instalment in what will at least be a quadrilogy, not to mention a new Cinematic Universe for Sony. Since then, the have released an international trailer teasing more of the comedic elements, and more recently an awesome Super Bowl TV spot that was swiftly followed by an extended 4-minute ‘Enemies Unite’ sizzle reel.
With less than three months on the clock before Peter Parker is back in action on our screens, the studio have released another fantastic new trailer to whet our appetites.

If you’re wondering who’s going to be come out on top this Sunday at the Super Bowl, my money is on The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Sony have launched an epic first part to their Super Bowl TV spot for Marc Webb’s blockbuster sequel, and it is nothing short of brilliant.
The Internet is buzzing with the idea that it teases Gwen Stacy’s fate, but I can’t help but feel that that part of the comic books won’t be happening this time around. No doubt I’ll be eating my words in a few months’ time, but I really hope Webb and co. will save it for the next chapter.
In the past two months, we’ve seen an awesome first trailer, a little more comedy in the second, international trailer, and most recently a great little preview over New Year’s, and it’s all been absolutely brilliant,...

After seeing Spidey and Electro heading up two new posters for Marc Webb’s highly anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man 2 earlier, Sony has launched a third poster to follow that pits the two characters together.
The stand-off between these two is all but guaranteed to be epic, quite possibly leading to a showdown in Times Square, and you’d better believe that this is an absolute must-see of the year, let alone the summer blockbuster season.
The first trailer that surfaced at the start of last month promised all-out action, with the international trailer that followed adding a little comedy into the mix, so things are definitely looking good for the franchise.

Spidey was the superhero of choice at the New Year’s celebrations at Times Square, and to make the evening even sweeter, Sony debuted a great new preview for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The first trailer promised epic action worthy of following up the 2012 reboot, with the more recent international trailer showing off a little of the comedy that was so well received in the first film. And this new preview teases a little of both, promising an awesome showdown between Spider-Man and Electro in the iconic New York setting.

In the past couple weeks, Sony has done a brilliant job of launching The Amazing Spider-Man 2, kicking things off with an awesome first trailer at the start of the month.
Since then, not only have we had an international trailer, teasing a little more of the comedy that worked so well in the first film, but we’ve also heard that the studio is expanding the Spider-Man Universe, developing Venom and The Sinister Six movies.
Adding to that, they’ve now released a new teaser poster, with Spidey striking the same pose as the rather epic triptych banner, but this time with a lightning-filled NYC skyline.

Sony launched the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the start of the month, brilliantly introducing the new villains soon to be coming our way in the anticipated sequel.
Coming alongside last week’s announcement, that the studio will be expanding the Spider-Man Universe with movies centred on Venom and The Sinister Six, the studio has released a new international trailer, focusing a little more on the comedy, of the kind that sat so nicely alongside the action the first time around.

We might still be a little under a year away from Spidey’s return in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t already get excited.
Marc Webb’s brilliant reboot last year set up a new franchise, which Sony have already committed to continuing through to May 2018 with The Amazing Spider-Man 4.
With Comic-Con just around the corner, we were treated to two new images last week, along with a new magazine cover. And now EW have released another image, in which we get to see Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker / Spider-Man having strong words with Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillon, who will go on to become Electro.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 might still be a while off yet, but May 2014 will come around faster than we think, and the sequel to one of the best franchise-starters in years is definitely something to be excited about.
The film is set to make an appearance at Comic-Con this month, and EW have launched it on the cover of their special Comic-Con preview issue, along with two new images.
And, in tandem with one of the new images, they also share a little piece on Andrew Garfield and Spider-Man’s sexuality, revealing that Garfield has been talking with producer Matt Tolmach and director Marc Webb about the possibility of Spider-Man exploring his sexuality.
“I was kind of joking, but kind of not joking about Mj… And I was like, ‘What if Mj is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!

Very early on in the casting of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it was announced that Shailene Woodley was set to star as the iconic Mary Jane Watson, made famous on the big screen by Kirsten Dunst in Sam Raimi’s original trilogy.
At the time, it wasn’t clear how involved the character would be with the film. But, given that Emma Stone was set to be the female lead once more, we had a feeling that Mj’s role wouldn’t be substantial in the first sequel, and that it would be developed further down the line.
Following the news this week that Sony have announced release dates for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4, word now arises that Marc Webb has decided to leave Mary Jane Watson out of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and is expected to introduce her in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Production is well underway out in New York on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with shooting coming up on its two-month mark.
Marc Webb is back at the helm, having done a fantastic job of rebooting the franchise last year. And he’s assembled another brilliant cast, with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone naturally returning as our leading duo, Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.
There’ve been plenty of set photos doing the rounds in recent weeks, and now Marc Webb has tweeted the first official photo of Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon / Electro. And alongside that, Dane DeHaan has also given us our first look at himself as Harry Osborn.

The players: Director: Tony Scott, Writer: Brian Helgeland, Cast: Denzel Washington, John Travolta, James Gandolfini, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Brian Haley
Facts of interest: Remake of Joseph Sargent's 1974 flick of the same title.
The plot: A New York City subway dispatcher is thrust into the middle of a hostage situation on-board a subway train.
Our thoughts: I didn’t exactly love Tony Scott’s “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” remake, but much to the film’s credit, it sure did entertain me for most of its running time. “Pelham” has its flaws, and the central plot could have been a tad more intriguing, but all in all, it qualifies as a decent summer thriller that mostly works.

If the first trailer for Tony Scott’s “The Taking of Pelham 123″ didn’t excite you, maybe this one will. There are a lot of new footages, and the new trailer takes a more character-oriented approach to the two main guys — Denzel’s civil service schlub and John Travolta’s hostage-taking maniac. I kinda like it better than the first one myself. Denzel Washington stars as New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber, whose ordinary day is thrown into chaos after a group of hijackers led by Ryder (John Travolta) take a subway train and its passengers hostage. Starring John Travolta, Denzel Washington, James Gandolfini, John Turturro, Luis Guzmán, Jason Butler Harner, and Brian Haley. Tony Scott (”Deja Vu”) directs. The script is by Brian Helgeland, who is no stranger to good crime movies (”Mystic River”, Scott and Washington’s “Man on Fire”). Get taken June 12. New trailer via Myspace’s Trailer Park.

Gran TORINOby Mike Digiorgio, Writer You can’t honestly expect Clint Eastwood to go quietly. The auteur can’t make his last appearance without making some kind of statement. Film fans shouldn’t worry that Eastwood the filmmaker is going anywhere. We can have high hopes that we’ll get more films directed with the skill and finesse of Million Dollar Baby or Mystic River. But rumor has it the acting icon makes his last appearance onscreen in Gran Torino. In a way, this is Eastwood’s second goodbye. If you think of Eastwood the actor, two images will jump to mind. There’s the cowboy of the spaghetti westerns that Eastwood masterfully said goodbye to as an actor and director in Unforgiven. But I’d wager for most, the iconic image of Eastwood is a vigilante like Dirty Harry Callaghan, standing above us with gun aimed at our face,...

Chicago – With his second film in just a few months, Clint Eastwood makes one of his biggest missteps of his illustrious career as one of the more esteemed American directors in the history of the medium. Eastwood has made some undeniable masterpieces - “Mystic River”, “Million Dollar Baby”, “Unforgiven” - but he has been far from perfect, misfiring wildly with films like “Space Cowboys”, “The Rookie”, and “Pink Cadillac”. “Gran Torino” falls much closer to the latter category on Clint’s spectrum than the former.
Rating: 2.0/5.0 Eastwood stars in “Gran Torino” as Walt Kowalski, a bitter, cranky, snarling old man, who is mean to his priest, vicious to his family, and racist to everyone in his increasingly ethnic neighborhood. Walt could be Clint’s iconic ‘Dirty Harry’ character a few years down the road from when we last saw him and a bit more racist. (In fact, there were rumors...

The first trailer to Warner Bros. Pictures action drama movie, "Gran Torino" has come out. More than two-minute long, it gives a clear introduction about Clint Eastwood's character, Walt Kowalski. Described to be a racist Korean War veteran who holds his value and belief tightly, he is forced to rethink about his prejudices towards the others after forcing an Asian-American gang to get off of his lawn one night.
Marking Eastwood's first film role since his performance in "Million Dollar Baby", "Torino" is a movie with "never too late to learn a life lesson" plot. It focuses its story on a disgruntled Korean War veteran who sets out to reform his neighbor after catching a young Hmong teenager red-handed trying to steal his prized possession, a 1972 Gran Torino.
Directed by Eastwood, the movie is also supported by Bee Vang, Brian Haley, Cory Hardrict, Brian Howe and many others. The...

Darn disappointing, Disney's lackluster remake of 1965's "That Darn Cat!" features Christina Ricci ("Casper") in the Hayley Mills role, while venerable Dean Jones ("The Shaggy D.A".) appears as a supporting character. Some basic elements of the story line have remained, but the new film's family-oriented humor is even more stilted and tame than the original.
British TV director Bob Spiers' feature debut has a few rewarding moments, but its target audience of kids and cat lovers will not be generating strong word-of-mouth. "That Darn Cat" is based on the novel "Undercover Cat" by the Gordons and their screenplay of the first film, co-written by Bill Walsh.
Besides veterans Jones and Estelle Parsons, the movie's eclectic cast includes Peter Boyle, Bess Armstrong, Dyan Cannon and Michael McKean in a very silly tale of a feline informant and nutty New Englanders on both sides of the law.
Alas, 1997's "That Darn Cat" is light years away from the original's drive-ins, muscle cars and mainstream mid-'60s comedy, not to mention the cast that included William Demarest, Elsa Lanchester, Frank Gorshin and Neville Brand.
No one performer is at fault, certainly not Doug E. Doug, who tries hard as a twitchy, manic FBI agent to make this cinematic fleabag come to life. But Ricci has little to do with her underwritten character, and a subplot involving a lonely butcher (Megan Cavanaugh) and two gung-ho security guards (Tom Wilson, Brian Haley) is mildly amusing at best.
Darn Cat, or "D.C". as his mistress Patti (Ricci) calls the gray beast, pussyfoots around the neighborhood one night and finds the kidnapped maid of the Flints (Jones, Cannon), obnoxious millionaires reluctant to pay the hefty ransom. The ridiculous scenario has the FBI becoming involved in a nocturnal tracking of D.C. by several agents.
George Dzundza plays the cranky boss of Doug's character, who goes through many humiliating experiences before making the cat angle payoff. Boyle and Rebecca Schull are unimpressive as an aging couple who play a major role in the overblown climax.
Just as in Robert Stevenson's version, which featured a Siamese, the lead feline is never quite made as endearing as one expects, with the attention focused on the humans and their mundane conflicts.

Anthony Michael Hall's surprisingly self-assured comic performance gives "Into the Sun, '' an airborne knock-off of "The Hard Way, '' an amiably satirical edge, although this action comedy ultimately doesn't have enough dash or flash to guarantee much of a boxoffice impact. However, the film's comic assets should play well on the small screen, making its video future look considerably brighter.
Hall plays Tom Slade, an almost casually egotistical Hollywood star who attaches himself to Air Force pilot Paul Watkins (Michael Pare) to do research for an upcoming role. Watkins, a no-nonsense type, is immediately put off by Slade's New Age-speak and by the star's uncanny ability to master new tasks with ease.
This portion of the film, further enlivened by Terry Kiser's hilarious impersonation of Slade's agent, is the best, with Hall's offhanded self-absorption well set-off by Pare's effectively limned fuming straight man.
However, when Watkins finally gives in and takes Slade on an F-16 patrol, the two are shot down by enemy aircraft over an unfriendly Arab country, and the comedy begins to play second fiddle to the action elements. And while the flying sequences are authentic enough, the activity on the ground never compensates for the diminishing laughs with any punch of its own.
The movie goes so far as to set up an American turncoat (Linden Ashby) flying for the Arabs, but his conflict with Watkins isn't an analogous match for Slade's.
Also given that the fleetingly glimpsed Arabs in the film come in two varieties -- brutal and greedy -- the film has left itself open to charges of ethnic insensitivity. Deborah Maria Moore as Watkins' in-service girlfriend and Brian Haley as a fellow pilot add to the film's generally accomplished acting credits.
