- Jeremy Jed Hammel started his career working in the Hollywood studio TV & film industry (Tonight Show, NBC's ER, June Beallor Productions/Universal), and has expanded his credits to include producing and directing music videos, indie films, and national commercials. He graduated from Ithaca College (NY) with a degree in Television and Radio.
A film he produced "The Legacy," has garnered over 1 million views on Youtube, screened at Cannes, won Best Film at San Diego Comic Con, received national theatrical distribution, and is available online at Hulu.com.
Hammel co-directed and edited a video for music artist Lo-Fi Sugar, who went on to chart a Number one song on Beatport with international star DJ, Paul Van Dyk's track, "So High". Hammel has produced projects for The American Film Institute, NBC's national network show, "Later," and directed a national long-form piece for Alienware/Dell Computers. Hammel is the director and founder of the Boston based charitable/social innovation-focused film festival, the 5th Annual Filmshift Festival.
Hammel has produced for The American Film Institute, (from "The Town" and "Gone Baby Gone,") a short film/music video for Skinny Cavallo, among others.
Aside from winning Best Film at Comic Con, Hammel's filmmaking accolades include: Best Romantic Screenplay - 2013 Woods Hole Film Festival (screenwriter), Best Feature Film - 2007 Sansevierian Film Festival, and a Golden Kahuna Award for Excellence In Filmmaking - 2009 Honolulu Film Festival, (co-director/sole editor) for a video for music artist Lo-Fi Sugar, who went on to chart a Number One Beatport song with Paul Van Dyk's "So High."
Hammel's crew credits also include work for production companies on the Universal Studios lot, the Hallmark Channel, "Access Hollywood," and the groundbreaking motion-graphic design firm, Imaginary Forces.
Hammel's screenplays have won awards in 8 screenplay competitions, including the 2008 Woods Hole Film Festival and the 15th Annual Fade In magazine/Writer's Network competition. One of his screenplays even made to the Top 15% (out of 5500) screenplays for The Academy Award's 2008 Nicholl Fellowship.
