Well, I haven’t highlighted a Kickstarter in about a month so I’m going to end that dry spell right now.
Last week Michael Sarrao launched a Kickstarter campaign for his latest graphic novel, Unmasked Volume 2: Promethean. Unsurprisingly, this is the follow up to Unmasked: The New Age Heroes Volume 1 which was Kickstarted back on August 26, 2012. Maybe slightly more surprisingly this is also a follow up to Unmasked: Signal the 32 page one shot which bridges the events of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 that was also funded on Kickstarter back on April 13, 2014. Both volumes were illustrated by John Broglia and Signal was illustrated by Anthony Gregori.
In total, this will be Michael Sarrao’s fourth comic book Kickstarter. All of his previous campaigns have been successful, and this campaign is only a week in and well on its way to reaching its goal. Michael was kind enough to send me...

Last year at SXSW he and director/co-writer/co-star Patrick Brice debuted their microbudget horror Creep which Radius-twc and Blumhouse Tilt jointly acquired.
Also stopping by the Austin fest held from March 13-21, 2015 will be Bollywood actor and director Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, The Four Feathers), who will lead a Conversation session. Over 150 keynotes, conversations, panels, and mentor sessions are in the works for the annual confab, which has yet to announce its full lineup.

Sorry, everybody — some guy named Paul Little just totally outdid your family’s Christmas card. (Even you, Kardashians.)
See, Paul likes the classic family comedy/harrowing horror film (if you’re looking at it from the burglars’ perspective) Home Alone. He likes it so much that this year, he created a virtual Christmas card that cuts together all of the movie’s best moments — with Paul’s own face superimposed over that of each actor, speaking their lines with the perfect intonation and attitude. (He’s certainly not what the French call les incompetents.)
Watch the magic below; it’s...

London, Jan 18: A Us restaurant has claimed that the world's first cheeseburger was invented in its kitchen in the late 1920's, when a young chef wanted to cover up his mistake.
A local diner in Pasadena, California, called the Rite Spot, says chef Lionel Sternberger accidentally burned one side of the hamburger he was cooking.
"Rather than throwing it in the trash, he flipped it over and put a bit of cheese on it to hide his mistake and served it to a customer, who was delighted to have it," the Daily Mail quoted Pasadena Chamber of Commerce's Paul Little as telling CNN.
Now the town is celebrating the cheeseburger's.

UK Feminista is to rescreen the 2001 documentary Hardcore that offers a horrifying glimpse into the abuse of women in porn – in a bid to combat the argument that it's just 'people having sex'
An old controversy has arisen over pornography; not the usual ruck about whether it is harmful to women, but a debate over the viewing of women being abused during the making of it.
This Monday UK Feminista is screening the documentary Hardcore, which offers a horrifying glimpse into the industry.
First screened on Channel 4 in 2001, it follows Felicity, a 25-year-old single mother living in the UK, who is desperate to make money to improve her daughter's opportunities. She is invited by a porn agent to meet movers and shakers in the so-called Us 'adult industry'. The audience watches as she goes from a bright, sparky, pretty woman to a cynical and emotionally exhausted shell.
