Albert Harris was born in London on February 13, 1916 and moved to New
York in 1938 where he gained a Doctor of Music degree at New York
College of Music. He moved to Los Angeles in 1942, became musical
director at NBC for several years followed by film work. Also a
respected music lecturer, Harris retired from film and television work
in 1990.
He married Diane, a New Zealand lady, in California in 1986, and the
couple retired to Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand in 1992.
For many years Albert Harris taught composition and orchestration to such notable composers as John Massari, Alan Darian, James Newton Howard, Greg Edmondson and Don Davis, to name a few.
