It took cojones for Chevy Chase — forever and always holiday-roading patriarch Clark Griswold — to star in a remake of F.W. Murnau's monumental 1924 silent The Last Laugh. Oh, wait. That's not what this is? An original story by writer-director Greg Pritikin, you say, about a retired talent manager, Al Hart (Chase), who hits the road with a former client, Buddy Green (Richard Dreyfuss), to rekindle their glory days? Ok, well, at least Murnau won't be rolling over in his grave with Emil Jannings.

Even though a lot of people in Hollywood have horror stories about working with the comedy legend that is Chevy Chase, apparently that didn’t scare Richard Dreyfus from getting together for a comedic two-hander on Netflix. The Last Laugh follows Chevy Chase as retired talent manager Al Hart who finds himself reunited with his first […]

If you’re a fan of Chevy Chase and/or Richard Dreyfuss, they star together in a new movie together called The Last Laugh, which is coming to Netflix.
I’ve always enjoyed the work of both of these actors and it’s great to see them starring in a new film together! The movie tells the story of a retired talent manager Al Hart (Chase), who is reunited with his first client, Buddy Green (Dreyfuss), a comic who quit show business 50 years ago. Well, Hart convinces Buddy to escape the retirement community that they’ve been living in to hit the road for a cross-country comedy comeback tour.
The movie looks like a charming comedy that I would enjoy. It also stars Chris Parnell, Kate Micucci, and Andie MacDowell.
The Last Laugh was written and directed by Greg Pritikin and Netflix will release it on January 11th, 2019.

"Do you even have an act?" "I never had an act." Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for an indie road trip comedy titled The Last Laugh, the latest from filmmaker Greg Pritikin. The comedy stars Chevy Chase as a retired talent manager who is reunited with his first client, Buddy Green played by Richard Dreyfuss, a comic who quit show business 50 years ago. This is another one of those amusing old geezers go on a road trip and re-discover how much fun the world is kind of films. The small supporting cast includes Chris Parnell, Kate Micucci, and Andie MacDowell. This looks like it has a few good laughs, but not as many as you might be expecting from this duo. Watch below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Greg Pritikin's The Last Laugh, direct from YouTube: When retired talent manager Al Hart (Chevy Chase) is reunited with his first client,...
