Milo Ventimiglia was the television dad for six years until This Is Us ended in 2022. His portrayal of Jack Pearson was iconic, and it’s one of many roles that audiences worldwide will immediately associate with the actor. However, when one door closes, another one opens. And for Milo Ventimiglia, that was The Company You Keep on ABC.

Makeup department head Zoe Hay and hair department head Michael Reitz accepted a unique creative opportunity when they joined NBC’s “This Is Us” six years ago. They were tasked with aging family matriarch Rebecca Pearson, played by Mandy Moore, from age 16 to 80. “It was an unusual challenge,” Hay says, recalling the early days of the show, which just concluded its final season.
The family drama, which has earned 38 Primetime Emmy nominations including four for hair and makeup, is a multigenerational story that spans more than six decades and centers on the Pearson family at various points in their lives. The Pearsons’ story unfolds in a nonlinear way, and when Hay and Reitz signed on, no one realized what the work would entail — nor how many hours it would take. Between skull caps and wig placement, it often took about 60 minutes just to get Moore’s hair right.

Is Sterling K. Brown excited for his new film Hotel Artemis to come out? Abs-solutely!
The This Is Us star showed off his sculpted figure in an attention-grabbing video on his Instagram page, with the intention of getting the word out about his action film hitting theaters on Friday. Brown appeared wearing only a white towel, which just happened to be inscribed with Hotel Artemis, around his waist.
As his camerawoman got a good chuckle out of the whole scene, Brown also picked up on the silly vibe.

“Game of Thrones” has ruled the non-prosthetic makeup Emmy category for four out of its six seasons — winning Emmys the last two years in a row. But the race is wide open this season during its hiatus, with the nominees ranging from perennials “Vikings” (its fourth nomination) and “Penny Dreadful” (its first nomination) to newcomers “Westworld,” “Stranger Things,” and “This Is Us.”
While the Norse-driven “Vikings” (“All His Angels”) offered lots of tattoos, scars, and blood, and the supernatural “Penny Dreadful” (“Perpetual Night”) boasted a rogues gallery of scars, creepy flesh, and gore, the race will come down to sci-fi dual universes and time-hopping family drama.
“Westworld” (“The Original”)
Christien Tinsley and his team (Myriam Arougheti, Gerald Quist, Lydia Milars, Ed French) forged new territory in finding a balance between beauty, period, reality, and fantasy for characters in the western theme park and mechanistic programming center. In order to conceptualize...
