USA Network is close to greenlighting an original film about the 1983 Cotton Club murder. The two-hour film would trace the rise and fall of Miami-based drug dealer Karen Jacobs, whose effort to break into the moviemaking business ended with the murder of producer Roy Radin and the disgrace of Hollywood legend Robert Evans. "It's a pretty wild story about the excesses of the '80s," said Laurette Hayden, senior vp movies and miniseries at USA. "I think people are really interested in crime stories, and this has the makings of a great procedural drama."...
