Entertainment Squad has acquired the new LGBTQ-themed horror comedy Summoning Sylvia for worldwide distribution under its The Horror Collective banner.
Written and directed by Wesley Taylor (Smash, The Spongebob Musical) and Alex Wyse (Marvel’s Iron Fist, Masters of Sex) – who together created the Emmy-nominated digital series Indoor Boys – the film will have a day-and-date release in select theaters and on most major Tvod streaming platforms this spring.
Summoning Sylvia tells the story of a gay bachelor party that takes a spooky turn when sinister spirits are suddenly summoned. The warm and whimsical Larry has been kidnapped by his three best friends for a bachelor weekend getaway at a haunted house. As they sashay through the Victorian corridors, the comrades recount the house’s legend from a hundred years ago: A murderous woman named Sylvia slaughtered her son and buried him beneath the floorboards. Andrew with another Cannes-themed monologue…
At 50 Juliette Binoche remains one of the cinema’s finest actors – excellent in multiple languages. Though her time in Godzilla (now playing) is short, we can look forward to much more in Words and Pictures and Cannes entry Clouds of Sils Maris, the latter written specifically for her. Can Olivier Assayas film capture as many of her finest assetts as her Cannes winning turn in Certified Copy (2010)?
Certified Copy, my favourite of the decade (thus far), is remembered most often for its cerebral nature, a puzzle we must solve. Yes, much of it is rumination on theory but it's theory with passion and feeling. For all of its technical and intellectual merit, it’s also a love letter to Binoche from writer/director Abbas Kiarostami.
Given it’s musings on what’s real and what’s a copy, Elle (Binoche’s character) might not quite...

Teen Wolf
The 45-second trailer for the second half of MTV's third season of "Teen Wolf" is out ahead of its January 6th premiere.
Rather than a collection of clips though, the trailer is a specially created, metaphor heavy piece in which a bloodstained Stiles is trapped in a waking nightmare.
Gotham
So how will Fox's upcoming Batman prequel-themed "Gotham" work exactly? Bleeding Cool have reported a rumor that suggests the pilot clearly spells things out:
"The pilot script for 'Gotham' has Detective Jim Gordon trying to solve a very famous double homicide - the Waynes". This would confirm Bruce Wayne is a child in the series setting and is a legitimate way to keep Batman out of the picture.
Louis Ck
Comedian Louis C.K. will stay with the FX network as he has just signed a development deal to create pilots and potential new series which he will supervise as executive producer.

"The Office" ended its eight-year run on Thursday night, in a cute finale that saw the wedding of a fan favorite couple, the return of Michael Scott and a perfect sendoff for the rest of the Dunder Mifflin crew. So, how'd it all end? See our favorite moments from the series finale below. 1.) Michael Scott is back! Steve Carell returned for the show's final episode, staying to the sidelines but still packing an emotional punch. The former Dunder Mifflin boss returned for Dwight Schrute's wedding -- popping up to help Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) with the "Best Prank Ever."It was sweet to see him interact with his former coworkers. And while Holly (Amy Ryan) didn't come with him, we learned the couple now have a couple kids of their own and Michael's a very proud papa -- so proud he needs two phones because he's taken so many photos of them.

In part 2 of the Getting Lucky Mma podcast Ultimate Fighter spectacular, I am joined by fellow Mma columnist, Marcus Mitchell, to break down all the action in the Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. As a surprise move, Dana did not invite any of the season contestants other than the finalists to partake on the card, obviously to shake up the complacency in the housemates over lackluster performances and commitment.
The card was highlighted by Roy Nelson dominating Matt Mitrione on the feet with a beautiful uppercut. The fight was punctuated with a well-timed flurry by Big Country to turn off Meathead’s lights completely. The Tuf 16 Welterweight champion was also crowned, Us Army Ranger Colton Smith.

Episode Summary (#010 – part 2): In a card that was largely de-fanged by injury (Shane Carwin) and even last second pestilence (Melvin Guillard vs. Jamie Varner), there was still plenty of excitement. Nine out...

We take a closer look at Dark Heritage, an unofficial adaptation of Lovecraft’s The Lurking Fear, to find out what forbidden delights this 1989 film has to offer…
Of the film adaptations of the influential, perennially popular horror writer Hp Lovecraft, there are no doubt some you’ve seen and fondly remember. Stuart Gordon’s anarchic Re-Animator and From Beyond no doubt fall into this category. Then there’s Guillermo Del Toro’s At The Mountains Of Madness, which falls into the rarefied category of Lovecraft films we’d love to see but probably never will. Standing apart from all of those movies, there’s Dark Heritage: The Final Descendant – a Lovecraft adaptation you might not have seen, and probably shouldn’t.
Your humble writer’s discovery of this largely forgotten oddity is itself like something from a Lovecraft story. While tidying up a dusty shelf of old bric-a-brac in the spare room,...

It looks like Andy Richter will be stepping from behind the podium on Conan to another podium (I am guessing) for a new game show on TBS entitled Pyramid. The show is reportedly a modern-day take on the iconic game show that began asThe $10,000 Pyramid.
I really enjoye watching Men of A Certain Age, and highly recommend it. The new shows don't really catch my interest yet, aside from Pyramid. Check out the full lineup below and share your thoughts on what shows you are most interested in seeing.

Highlights of tonight’s show 10pm on Channel 4
9.40am
Some of the housemates are in the Bedroom. Dave mentions that he is annoyed by Josie’s and John James constant talking and laughing through the night.
Sam walks over to Josie and John James and pulls the duvet from their bed. Josie get’s angry, “I don’t want my fat arse hanging out on television”, she says. “That’s your best bits right there, Josie”, says Sam. “You know how you said it’d be funny to get knocked out by a girl, that will be your best bits”, says Josie.
9.58am
Most of the housemates are in the Bedroom. Sam is using coconut shells to make a ‘clip clop’ sound above Josie’s head. Josie kicks out at Sam who moves out of the way.
Sam heads over to the Garden and continues to make the noise.

Cologne, Germany -- Stanley M. Brooks and Jim Head, together with Munich-based production group Tandem Communications, have signed on to adapt a pair of Patricia Cornwell best-sellers as telefilms for the Lifetime Network.
The two crime novels -- "At Risk," which introduced Massachusetts State police officer Winston Garano, and its sequel, "The Front" -- mark the first-ever adaptations of Cornwell's work. The U.S. author is one of the most successful writers of all time.
John Pielmeier ("Hitler: The Rise of Evil") will write the teleplays for both movies. Tandem will handle worldwide sales for the titles outside Lifetime's window stateside and will be showing the project to buyers at Miptv this month.
