TEL AVIV, Israel -- Two Arab films shared the top international prize at the 19th Haifa Film Festival Awards ceremony. The jury recognized Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad's Palestinian Authority-Netherlands co-production, Rana's Wedding, a tale of love in East Jerusalem, and the Morocco-France co-production The Wind Horse, directed by Daoud Aoulad Syad. The jury, chaired by Austrian actor Klaus Maria Brandauer and including Evgenia Tridatova of Russia, Karoly Makk of Hungary and Avraham Heffner and Michal Friedman, both of Israel, said of the choices that "they both dare to face the sun." In the Israeli Film Awards section, the best feature film award of $22,000 went to She's Not 17, Yitzhak Yeshurun's study of kibbutz life.
