In an interview with TV Insider, Kaley Cuoco revealed that she didn’t initially get the role of Katie in “The Big Bang Theory” because she was considered too young. When the role was revisited a year later, she was called back to read for Penny.
“I didn’t get [the role of Katie] the first time around. I was too young, which I love saying because I don’t get to say that I’m too young anymore. [Laughs]. Then, a year later, I heard they were doing it again, and they brought me back in to read for Penny,” Kaley said in an interview with TV Insider.

Over the course of its 12-year-old run, The Big Bang Theory has never lost sight of any of the four main characters with each and every single one of them being extremely different from the others.
Apart from omnipresent Sheldon and Leonard, the show also featured their long-time close friend Howard Wolowitz portrayed by Simon Helberg throughout the whole series.
While now everyone can hardly imagine any other actor in this role, the show’s creators initially had someone else in mind — and Helberg could’ve lost his iconic character to his actual co-star.
As Jessica Radloff’s book, The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series, suggests, Howard Wolowitz’s part was initially offered to Kevin Sussman — he later on ended up staying in the show and portraying Stuart Bloom, a comic book store owner.

CBS has confirmed that a spin-off of Young Sheldon TV series is in the works, and here are the details.
There’s no denying that The Big Bang Theory has had huge cultural impact. Chuck Lorre’s sitcom about a group of nerds and the gorgeous girl next door ran for almost 300 episodes over 12 seasons.
The show starred Johnny Galecki as Leonard, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Simon Helberg as Howard, Kunal Nayaar as Raj, Mayim Bialik as Amy and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette, but undoubtably the breakout star was Jim Parsons as socially awkward scientist Sheldon Cooper.
The character became synonymous with certain personality traits, with no understanding of social cues and limited sense of humour, with his catchphrase of sorts, “Bazinga!”, entering the cultural lexicon.
The character’s popularity led to spin-off Young Sheldon in 2017, which saw Iain Armitage take on the title role. It revealed his backstory and...

A group of high-profile actors have signed a public letter declaring that they would rather stay on strike than accept a bad deal.
Thousands of stars including Sarah Paulson, Chelsea Handler, Christian Slater, Sandra Oh, Daveed Diggs, Pedro Pascal and Kal Penn have signed the letter, which is addressed to the SAG-AFTRA Negotiating Committee.
“Back in June, before we went on strike, a large group of members signed an open letter telling our leaders that we would rather go on strike than take a bad deal. Now, more than 100 days into our strike, that is still true. As hard as this is, we would rather stay on strike than take a bad deal,” the letter opens.
“We have not come all this way to cave now. We have not gone without work, without pay, and walked picket lines for months just to give up on everything we’ve been fighting for.

The Big Bang Theory has only been off the air for four years thus far, but after 12 seasons it’s hard to imagine the cast as anything other than the beloved characters they played for over a decade. While some actors have chosen to take it easy in the years since Bbt ended, others have gone full-speed ahead into roles that are wildly different from the characters we know them as.
Across film and television, here are the Big Bang Theory cast’s best post-Big Bang roles.
Johnny Galecki – The Conners
Johnny Galecki hasn’t done much since The Big Bang Theory ended, but having a child a few months before a global pandemic changes the world as we know it is as good an excuse as any. Macaulay Culkin was the most sought-after child actor of his time. Culkin’s child movie career is legendary. As an adult, he has carefully picked and chosen which projects he invests his time in. While fans haven’t seen him in a starring sitcom role, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been asked. In 2018, Culkin revealed that he was approached multiple times to star in The Big Bang Theory but turned it down. While appearing in the series would have made him millions of dollars, he isn’t mad about his decision to pass on the opportunity.

One of the hottest Emmy contenders for the 2023 comedy categories is “Poker Face” for NBC and Peacock. Created by Rian Johnson, the mystery show stars Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne as Charlie, who has an extraordinary ability to determine if someone is lying. That is not good news for the murderers she encounters on her cross-country escape from a threat in Las Vegas.
Each guest star is virtually a lead performer for their one and only episode of the 10 first season installments. We see who is killed in the opening moments of an episode, and then Charlie enters to figure things out. The show is much in the style of the landmark mystery series “Columbo,” with touches from “Murder, She Wrote,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “The Rockford Files” as well.

It all started with a big bang, and now, a second spin-off series to “The Big Bang Theory” is coming. Chuck Lorre is developing a new comedy for Max, formerly known as HBO Max, derived from the hit CBS sitcom, Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Wednesday.
At this point, exact plot details are being quiet, but Lorre is set to return to executive produce, as part of his overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. Prequel series Young Sheldon, currently airing its sixth season on CBS, was the first offshoot from Big Bang Theory. The flagship series, created by Lorre and Bill Prady, aired for 12 seasons on CBS. The new Big Bang, like the flagship and prequel series, hails from Warner Bros. Television. The studio has been Lorre’s home for decades.

Saturday Night Live is the show everyone thinks of when they think about sketch comedy. Though not the first and certainly not the last, SNL has been on NBC live since 1975. The Second City comedy troupe got into the sketch comedy TV business one year after SNL. Their premise was that the Second City Television network would air different sketches. Comedy legends John Candy, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Andrea Martin, Martin Short and more starred in the show’s five seasons.

[This story contains major spoilers to the season one finale of Poker Face, “The Hook.”]
The hook brings you back.
Going into the finale of Poker Face, showrunners Nora and Lilla Zuckerman had warned The Hollywood Reporter to keep an eye out for all of the “hooks.” And that Easter egg hint panned out with the March 9 season one conclusion to the murder mystery series.
First, the title of the episode is “The Hook.” Then, after Benjamin Bratt’s casino fixer Cliff finally catches Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale — who has been on the run since the premiere and has been making weekly pit-stops to solve murders — he recites to her the lyrics of Blues Traveler’s “Hook.” Viewers will even notice Steven Spielberg’s 1991 classic Hook playing in the background when Charlie reunites with her estranged sister (played by Clea DuVall) after she’s framed for murder in Atlantic City, N.J.
So, what’s with all of the hooks?...

Exclusive: Peacock has an ace up its sleeve with Rian Johnson‘s Poker Face.
The series jumped to No. 2 on Nielsen’s U.S. streaming originals list for the week of January 30 to February 5 with 641M minutes viewed. That’s up from the 547M viewing minutes it managed in its first week on Peacock, with its four-episode debut.
The No. 1 spot on the streaming originals list once again went to Ginny & Georgia, though it’s worth nothing that the Netflix series had 20 available episodes to help bolster its 900M viewing minutes for the week.
In terms of average audience, Poker Face takes the top spot since the series only had five episodes available at the time.
Poker Face, which hails from MRC and T-Street and stars Natasha Lyonne, scored an early Season 2 renewal in February. New episodes of Season 1 are currently debuting every Thursday through March 9. This week’s episode is directed by Johnson.

Stan Lee made a cameo in every Marvel film until his death in 2018, so it only makes sense for him to make a cameo in The Big Bang Theory. In “The Excelsior Acquisition” from Season 3, Sheldon misses an opportunity to meet Lee at a local comic book store. Fortunately, Penny is able to get his address, and the two go to his house,...
