Fox’s Gotham is practically drowning in future supervillains, so it’s nice to hear there’s a future superhero on the way. Though he probably won’t be of much help to Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne right now, seeing as he hasn’t even been born yet. Showrunner Bruce Heller revealed that a “prenatal Robin” storyline is in […]

Last week, the Television Critics Association named Fox's "Gotham" the most promising new show of the fall TV season. But does that mean you're going to tune in tonight? We were lucky enough to catch the pilot of Fox's new Batman dark and twisty prequel and we have to admit -- this new series has a lot of promise.
Here are 5 reasons "Gotham" is worth watching:
1. It Appeals to More Than Just Comic Book Fans
There's enough jam-packed in the "Gotham" pilot to make it work for even the non-superhero obsessed or those Batman novices out there. Sure, there are comic book elements and familiar faces to satisfy those looking for the DC connection, but this is a cop show about the crime-addled city of Gotham at its core. Detective James Gordon's quest to track down Bruce Wayne's parents' murderers is the focus here -- Batman isn't a part of this story yet.

Game of Thrones fans, anxious for a glimpse at the upcoming 4th season, have been thrown a bone! This weekend, the HBO production released “Game of Thrones Season 4: Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing,” a 14:30 long preview video.
In it, we get to hear the cast and crew reflect on last season’s infamous Red Wedding and how the show will, in Peter Dinklage’s words, “Pick up the pieces and top it- in a lot of ways.” The video is filled with all kinds of exciting clips and glimpses into what’s to come.
I think this season looks nothing short of epic, and it’s the returning show I’m most excited for. But don’t take my word for it. Check it out:
Game of Thrones will return on April 6.
As you’ve likely heard by now, THR broke the news that Southland and The O.C....

Spartacus: Blood and Sand" ends a brilliant first season this Friday with the finale, "Kill Them All." If you are a regular reader, together we have enjoyed one of the best period TV efforts in a very long time. My own personal taste for Roman drama came from "I, Claudius," years ago with Francesca Annis and Derek Jacobi. Later it was whetted by Bruce Heller's "Rome" for HBO.
