Brock Lesnar is set to be Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel guest on tonight’s Raw in Columbus, Ohio.
WWE confirmed the booking on their website, with Paul Heyman also appearing in the segment. You can expect Heyman and Jericho to carry all the talking, with Roman Reigns possibly getting involved towards the conclusion.
The major talking point is going to be the Royal Rumble. Heyman is going to put over Lesnar’s chances of winning. However, with Jericho also in the Rumble, he’s going to be talking up his own chances. That could lead to sparks flying between Y2J and The Beast. It should make for entertaining scenes.
Also on Raw, an angle is expected to set up the Charlotte versus Becky Lynch match for Royal Rumble. Becky made the challenge on Smackdown, and the Divas Champion is expected to reply tonight.

Over the course of the last year, Paul Heyman has proven himself to be one of the most captivating and informative guests to hit the wrestling podcast circuit. His talks with Steve Austin have been enjoyable as two friends and fans of the business sit around shooting the breeze, while his two-part appearance on Talk Is Jericho alongside Edge is regarded as one of the best podcast interviews yet.
Following SummerSlam 2014, Heyman recorded an episode of The Steve Austin Show that never aired due to Austin being disappointed with the result and requesting a do over where the two discussed everything from the art of the promo to Heyman’s personal and professional relationship with his client, Brock Lesnar, as well as the SummerSlam slaughterhouse of a match with John Cena.

Oh, what a three hours and five minutes it was in Detroit's oft-referenced Joe Louis Arena on Monday night. Faces long in absentia descended, queasy alliances seemed to gel and poor Fandango and Adam Rose were emphatically re-cemented as transitional squash talent.
It's a lot to take in, I know. But neither quiver nor fret, because as always, I've broken the action down into five essential takeaways. And, as a bonus, thrown in a bunch of stuff that may have taught us nothing, but gave everyone something to tweet about.

Tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw comes to us from Des Moines, Iowa and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will not be there. Lesnar wasn’t at last week’s show either although WWE aired an interview with him that was pre-taped. Those pre-tape promos are better than most people’s in person promos, so if the plan is to do video packages about Lesnar on a regular basis then that’s okay.
The next time Lesnar’s expected to be on Raw is September 15, which is the last Raw before WWE Night of Champions on September 21.
This week on Raw, WWE is promoting a promo from John Cena. Last week we saw Cena do a promo in response to the likes of Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair doubting him while Hulk Hogan, the ultimate babyface, supported Cena. Last week’s show also saw...

We’re sprinting headlong into the second (third?) biggest PPV of the year in SummerSlam and after the little blip of BattleGround (Cena wins, Rusev dominates, Cesaro the new Ic Title holder anyone?) we will, almost certainly, get the return of Brock Lesnar and a main event that will hopefully be up there with the duos first meeting at Extreme Rules 2012.
From there, the card is quite open. It’ll be interesting to see how Cesaro’s relationship with Heyman goes after months of bragging about Lesnar, and with the probable return of his client, will The King of Swing feel unfairly sidelined? Will Jericho go face to face with The Wyatt’s for a second time? Will anyone truly take on the Bulgarian Beast and break the lock? It’s all up in the air but, with such a huge PPV, there’s always something else to consider…...

Paul Heyman appeared on Chris Jericho’s ‘Talk Is Jericho’ podcast this week, shedding light on the details surrounding Cm Punk’s sudden and mysterious January WWE exit. Heyman is of course a legitimately close friend of Punk, in addition to having worked with the wrestler in Raw storylines for much of the past two years.
“He was unhappy. He had enough. He couldn’t take it anymore,” Heyman states, “A year before he walked there was daily conversations of, ‘I don’t think I’m going to be able to take this. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be here. I don’t know how much longer it’s going to be before I just decide to go home.’ … I’m surprised it lasted that long.”
So there you have it, Cm Punk left WWE because he was mentally and physically worn out.

If you're anything like we are, and we assume that you are given the fact that you're reading this, then we are pretty sure of two things: one- you are in a constant state of arousal, and two- you've sunk lots and lots and lots of time into the video game Temple Run. So what's another 90 minutes?
Variety reports that Temple Run is heading for the big screen, as Gravity producer David Heyman and Warner Bros. are in talks to acquire movie rights. Temple Run, which debuted in 2011 from Imangi Studios, is centered on a player being chased by “demonic monkeys after stealing an idol from a temple.”
The game, designed and programmed by Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova, is usually played on mobile devices. Sequels to the original game were released earlier this year. Warner-based Heyman also produced all eight Harry Potter films and is producing StudioCanal’s Paddington...

This past Monday on Raw, the roster rose up against their corporate oppressors to help out Daniel Bryan battle against the Shield. The ripple effects of this and the treatment of Dusty Rhodes carried over into the Main Event and gave hints of crossing over to future events of Nxt as well. Let’s talk about the Main Event first.
This week Main Event came from my surrogate hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio . Alex Riley, subbing for the decimated Miz thanks to Randy Orton, sat alongside Josh Matthews to call the action. Interesting enough, they did not replay the footage of the attack on Monday.
The action begins with the spiritual son of Curt Hennig (Dolph Ziggler) versus the biological son of the WWE Hall of Famer Curtis Axel. The third-generation athlete came out along with Paul Heyman in a wheelchair with Ryback following behind. It’s really interesting to see...

Welcome to our weekly in-depth review of WWE Raw.
Raw is live from Toronto, Canada tonight and we start off the show with Toronto’s own, and WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. Edge gets a loud response from his hometown crowd and looking at his energy as he makes his way to the ring, he looks to have missed this wrestling gig. Edge says he was asked to come to Raw by Triple H because it would be “good for business” for Edge and Randy Orton to have a reunion, as they were former tag team partners. Edge says that talking to Randy Orton “is like watching paint dry”. The fans love Edge and his sarcasm and humorous remarks. Edge says he’s not interested in talking to Randy Orton, but has another guest in mind, and introduces Daniel Bryan, who gets a huge pop from the Canadian crowd.

Over the last few weeks, Raw has been very entertaining to say the least. With the rise of Daniel Bryan, the disintegration of the Punk- Heyman relationship and Kaitlyn and Aj battling it out, the show has felt more vibrant. However, even with all those elements still in play the show felt a little lackluster then in previous weeks.
The show begins not with a recap of last week as has been customary for the last few months, but with a cold open with Vickie Guerrero. The managing supervisor announces the champion versus champion main event with Alberto del Rio and John Cena.
This would lead to a showcase of great WWE and World Champions of their perspective eras. I like the pomp and circumstance of it all, but I think more often than not, regardless of how you hype the match it just doesn’t matter like used to.

Another post-Wrestlemania PPV, another knockout. Cena vs. Ryback at Payback, as was expected, consisted of yet more brutality culminating in another ludicrous ending: an ambulance roof ‘collapse’ that saw Ryback miss out on this week’s Raw entirely in order to ‘sell’ his loss. The highlight of the show, though, was undoubtedly Punk vs. Jericho in a definite contender for Match of the Year.
Del Rio regaining his Championship from Ziggler was the one thing I hadn’t envisioned, nor did I expect him to linger around afterward with a promo prolonged enough to draw impatient heel heat. He did the same thing to open Raw, spouting the same generic heel rubbish about ‘not getting enough respect’ and receiving a different sort of heat from the crowd: apathy. The best cure for apathy is a popular face appearance, so Punk showed up right on cue to disagree with Del Rio and – surprise,...

It’s always nice to see Vince swing by for an appearance now that he’s moved on from malevolent boss to frail old man. “Don’t boo my daughter Stephanie,” he pleaded with the crowd, asking nicely – for once – for us to show some respect to the daughter he beat the crap out of almost ten years ago in an ‘I Quit’ Match. Yes, Stephanie had returned too. “Boy, it sure does feel great to be back on Monday Night Raw,” she said, without a hint of enthusiasm. There were pressing matters for her and Vince to address, chiefly Triple H’s collapse at the end of last week’s Raw. Vince and Steph were adamant that Trips should not compete against Curtis Axel again – a decision that rightfully had the crowd booing. Then, Vince unleashed a tirade against the fans, blaming them for the tragedy that befalls such...

Monday Night Raw definitely gave us a lot more to be appreciative for this week. I’m not just talking about the fact that it was Bret Hart appreciation night in Calgary or the fact that it was Memorial Day in the Us. There was some great action, solid booking and great cameos during the night as well. The show began with the first of many touching tributes to the men and women of the Us military. Before I begin talking about the wacky world of professional wrestling, I just want to say thank you to all who serve, protect our freedoms here domestically or abroad. Your sacrifice will always be remembered in my heart.

Slowly but surely we move ever closer to the next WWE summer PPV, Payback. And as we do so, Raw attempts to keep us all intrigued by slightly advancing the various major storylines, with dashes of random mid-card performers wrestling on their flagship show. Here are 5 things we learned following Raw this week:
5. The Return Of Cm Punk Is Revealed
In what would have otherwise been a mere passing TV segment, Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel featured an intriguing interview with Paul Heyman. And while we were sure this opportunity would be used to further put over the newly launched Curtis Axel character, what we were treated to instead was an interrogation that was long overdue: Jericho asked Heyman for the whereabouts of Cm Punk.

As suspected, Extreme Rules was greatly superior to Wrestlemania in terms of match quality, length and storytelling. How do they keep getting this show so right, and the Grandest Stage of Them All so wrong? It’s not worth dwelling over; let’s instead focus on the pay-per-view itself, namely the fact that they’ve incorporated a ridiculous sports desk for pundits (wrestlers) to offer comment on the evening. The thing is, the likes of Wade Barrett and Titus O’Neill are less inclined to provide insightful analysis than brag about their own prowess. They’re asked a question and then respond with an irrelevant rant about how they’re going to dominate. Imagine watching Jamie Redknapp boast in the Sky Sports newsroom about how he’s far better than Messi. That’s what we’re seeing here, people.

The close of this week’s Raw was an apt send-off into the oxymoronic PG-13 Extreme Rules, giving us something we don’t see every week, if ever: Triple H and Brock Lesnar engaging in fisticuffs. It almost didn’t happen; Lesnar was set to strut out of the arena until Hunter, inside of a steel cage, referred to him as “Brock Lesnar… the Bitch”. Up until that point, I was still admiring the fact that Lesnar shows up to collect a paycheque each week for simply standing there while Heyman speaks on his behalf. He’s truly living the American Dream.
Heyman divulged to Triple H that he and his client “enjoy the perverse pleasures in life”. I know, Heyman. I saw the pictures you posted to your Twitter account before this current WWE run, and they sure as hell weren’t PG-13. Heyman’s final taunt was to...

When the WWE travels across the pond, you are often not sure what you’re going to get. Between the jet lag of the performers and the grueling schedule of the whole caravan of events. It can really be a mixed bag at times. But at least in my opinion that was not the case for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Much like a few weeks ago, the crowd plays a large part in that. The enthusiastic crowd in the 02 Arena kept the energy up with certain chants, which unlike New Jersey a few weeks ago wasn’t as distracting and disrespectful in some aspects. As they were trying to be the whole show they were just trying to enhancing the experience they were having which is when a crowd should do.

WWE definitely had its campaign hat on as Monday Night Raw came from the Beltway and Washington, DC as the company tried the hard sell on why you should buy Wrestlemania this Sunday on pay-per-view. This episode much like the politicians that reside there was all talk and no action. But was it good old-fashioned rhetoric or just a filibuster? I’ve already cast my vote… Let’s see what you think.
The show opened up with John Cena giving his final speech and into MetLife Stadium and how he will overcome his past failure and take that symbol created by The Rock (his words not mine fans of Cm Punk). A lot of this for standard Cena saying the same things we have heard week after week on how he has to beat The Rock to prove to himself that he can do it. That is better than The Rock.

“You’ve got 20 days left to pick a side,” said Cena to the Pittsburgh crowd, as part of his obligatory stand-and-point-at-the-Wrestlemania-sign promo. It’s a fair ask, especially if you’re placing money on the match; I’d encourage you all to bet life savings on John Cena defeating The Rock for the WWE Championship. Aside from gambling prospects, I can’t get myself reasonably excited for this year’s rematch, still decidedly bitter that The Rock took the title from Cm Punk, and never overly enamoured with John Cena following ten years of his repetitious superhuman feats.
“They don’t want to see you at Wrestlemania, John,” said Titus O’Neill as inexplicable new character Rufus Pancake Patterson, in the role of promo-interrupting squash bait. “What they want to see is the Primetime Players!” Well, yes, Rufus, that is true, but let’s provide further contextualisation: the people want...

I’d love to know who wrote The Shield’s lines for this week’s Raw. It seemed to me that as they stood and ranted about “The John Cena Problem” and the “Decade of injustice” those words could have been spoken by a plethora of WWE mid card talents who’ve perhaps been held back by The Cena Machine throughout their careers despite being way more talented than he is. It was a great decision to give The Shield some microphone time after week’s of not saying very much. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are great talkers, Roman Reigns has a way to go but he’s pretty good at shouting which is kinda his role as enforcer anyway.
Utilising the blackout was a good idea but tell me how that makes the babyfaces look tough? When The Shield use that method to attack they’re called cowards.

I think I’ve made it perfectly clear how I feel about the Royal Rumble PPV. So imagine my surprise when this week’s Monday Night Raw turned out to have some pretty good moments – moments that would have been quite useful in the lead up to the Rumble.
Cm Punk’s opening ‘promo’ (if you can call it that) was absolutely perfect. Punk reacted exactly how a heel of his stature should react after losing the championship in what he truly believes was a shady manner. What made this segment even better was that you truly believed that Punk believed every word he was saying. How was this guy ever a babyface? He is the best heel the company has seen in a very, very long time and should remain so until his career ends. No tweener role. No anti-hero middle ground. Just straight up heel all the way.

For months I have been pointing at a John Cena heel turn knowing full well that such a thing is simply fantasy in this day and age. His being the face of the company and a role model to all the annoying kiddies watching WWE lately mean it is becoming harder and harder for big Vince to take that oh so desperate plunge into the shock value bin, regardless of whether the fans are screaming to boo him. It’s not that we don’t respect John and his image, far from it in my opinion; we just wish he was fresh again. WWE are currently celebrating Cena’s 10 years in the company, which is a grand accomplishment to be sure. Over that time though I would argue he has simply not changed. Of course he entered our living rooms at first as the ruthless aggression guy and then later...

The main event set for WWE Hell in a Cell has garnered so much dirt sheet column inches that anyone who frequents such sites as this one will likely know of the brutal dilemma WWE creative have made for themselves. It’s a dilemma they haven’t faced in some time. Mainly due to the fact that WWE haven’t pushed a “Rookie” so hard so fast in several years! Regardless of the fact Ryback has been on payroll since 2004. The last I can recall would likely be Brock Lesnar 10 years ago. Even that had more legitimacy as the fans had seen him take apart some serious competition before defeating The Rock for the title.
It’s still a good thing for business though; as I’m sure most people will be highly intrigued to see how WWE manage this situation. It’s quite likely that the ending will be...

A home video release solely dedicated to the voice of the voiceless, Cm Punk, has been an extremely long awaited one for me so let’s get too it – Adam.
Main Feature
The long awaited set begins with a short, slightly cheesy, package showing Punk prepare for his day. It is something against the norm for WWE release but thinking about it, Cm Punk is against the norm for WWE TV so in that sense its effective.
Moving on and hearing Punk re tell stories from his childhood hits hard, probably because his life hasn’t been expressed in various other books or DVD sets etc. Punk recalls not wanting to stay at home and eventually being seemingly adopted by his best friends family, it’s interesting to look into a situation where someone, as strange as it may seem, was born into the wrong family.

Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler are on commentary…
1) WWE Champion Cm Punk defeated Big Show by Dq in a non-title match when Daniel Bryan interferes and attacks Punk.
