Daniel Radcliffe refused to watch the 'Woman in Black' stage production after landing a role in the film. The 22-year-old actor - who shot to fame playing Harry Potter in the wizarding franchise from the age of 11 - stars as Arthur Kipps in the big screen adaptation of Susan Hill's novel but wouldn't go and see the play also based on the book in case it influenced his performance. He said: ''I spent most of my childhood on film sets and there was no way I was going to watch it once I got the part -...

Hollywoodnews.com: Daniel Radcliffe prepares to put his Harry Potter character in the past. The young actor, who has been associated with the boy wizard for a decade, is ready to move on to different roles. Up first is a ghostly adaptation of Susan Hill’s period novel, and we have the first look at a trailer.
In the film, Radcliffe plays Arthur Kipps, an attorney sent to the countryside to organize the papers of a recently deceased woman. What he finds, though, is the vengeful spirit of an angry woman who feels like she has been scorned.
Here’s the trailer, which was posted on Yahoo Movies:
It’s an effective teaser, using a nursery rhyme and traditional haunted house imagery to prepare audiences for the frights that are in store. Naturally, we’re curious to see what Radcliffe can do outside of J.K. Rowling’s realm.

We’re still a long way from being able to see what Daniel Radcliffe did next as the 10th of February is the unnecessarily distant UK release date for James Watkins and Jane Goldman’s adaptation of Susan Hill’s chiller.
At Big Screen this weekend we saw a nicely eerie clip from the film with one of the iconic images from Hill’s story making a terrifying appearence and this new trailer offers a creepy look at what else we an expect next year.
It gives a fair few hints at the story they’re telling, but there’s more to the psycholoigcal side than this trailer gives up so by watching it you won’t spoil yourself. You may however soil yourself if you find old toys as scary as I do.
Here’s your trailer,
The Yahooers gave this one up.

This summer marked what was very likely the last time that actor, Daniel Radcliffe would play the character he's best known for by fans all over the globe, Harry Potter. The series came to a close with 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2,' and from its end comes a new chapter in the career of Radcliffe. The next time you see him in theaters will be when he's being haunted by 'The Woman in Black.' The ghastly tale looks like one of those unabashedly serious horrors that go without a single moment of levity. View the brand-new teaser trailer for it below, courtesy of Yahoo, but first, the very straight-to-the-point synopsis. It reads: "A young lawyer (Radcliffe) travels to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman is terrorizing the locals." Along with Radcliffe in the film is Ciarán Hinds, who...

The bad news (for us here in Blighty at least) is that star Daniel Radcliffe is still busy leaping about on Broadway and won't be attending. But since the erstwhile Harry Potter is one of the nicest men in show business, he sent all the attendees a little message to apologise for his absence - and here's a sneak peek below. brightcove.createExperiences();Woman In Black is out on February 10, 2012 here in the UK, and if you want to see much before that, come along to London's O2 this weekend.

Sir Elton John could have a road named after him in Harrow following a council proposal to celebrate local heroes. Harrow Council has asked residents to nominate famous people connected to the area to be honoured by having a local landmark named after them in a bid to boost local pride. "As long as people back the idea, in Harrow we could look at Elton John Avenue or similar to mark the achievements of a true international achiever," said Susan Hill, the council's deputy leader. The 'Rocket Man' singer was born and raised in Pinner, Middlesex (more)...
