This article contains spoilers for The Matrix Resurrections.
It’s been six months since the release of The Matrix Resurrections, the unexpected fourth entry in the cyberpunk saga that brings back Neo and Trinity for one last battle against the Machines. Since it bowed in December, diehard fans have continued to debate the film’s merits. Is it too beholden to nostalgia or is it too apathetic about the franchise’s storied past? Is it too meta or not self-aware enough? Does it earn its cathartic happy ending or is the third act too fan fiction-y? Your opinion of whether you think the film is good or not probably hinges on your answers to these questions. But one thing is for certain: it’s been very nice to have a new Matrix movie to debate about after all these years.
Say what you will about the film’s plot and action sequences,...

This article is presented to you by Red Roof Inn.
If New York City is the Big Apple, New York State is still an impressive bushel. The fourth most populous state is home to more than 19 million people and has a richness beyond the cultural hub of NYC. To that end, this is by no means a comprehensive breakdown of landmarks and locations to explore, but is just a kickoff to get you in an Empire State of mind.

Light spoilers ahead if you haven't Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 yet.
I finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and it was great. I cried, left the theater, and then cried again. If you haven't seen it, I won't spoil anything huge for you. I just cried... just cuz. There were lots of reasons to cry. Like the loss of a vital member of the team... Peter Quill's ship, The Milano.
The Milano crashes in the movie and although they are working on fixing it, they ultimately leave it on another planet and end up with a different ship. But now, you can see all the awesome designs of that new ship as well as some of the other ships that are in the movie.
The ships designs, which were shared by senior conceptual designer George Hull, include the ship the Guardians end up flying in the end,...

The guys over at io9 have spotted some some great concept art for The Amazing Spider-Man, granting us the opportunity of delving deeper into the film’s visuals. The majority of the images were sent to them by concept artist George Hull (who also worked on the less amazing movie Battleship). Hull designed the exterior of the Oscorp Building and the interiors such as the area where Peter encounters the spider that forever changes his life as well the labs used by Curt Connors. The technical break down on his machinery is particularly eye catching. Hull also had a hand in conceptualizing the battle between Spidey and The Lizard atop the Oscorp for the film’s finale.
Also floating around the net are some early costume concepts for the Spidey costume by artist Eddie Yang (who’s also worked on both Iron Man movie as well as Man of Steel...

The Amazing Spider-Man is getting a lot of mixed reviews, people are loving it and hating it. I personally thought it was awesome! I really enjoyed the story and characters. It was a very well made film, and I'm excited for the sequels.
There's a collection of concept art for the film that has been released, some of which gives us some cool looking takes on Spider-Man's suit that obviously didn't end up in the film. I love being able to see what it could have been. These were created by Eddie Yang, and I think the designs are great! Check 'em out and tell us if you like them!
The other designs released include the OsCorp building, and the final showdown between Spidey and Lizard. All that art comes from George Hull, and if you go to his website he offers some behind the scenes details of the process...

With The Amazing Spider-Man now in theaters, some of the artists who worked on the film are beginning to share some very cool concept art on their personal websites. George Hull and Eddie Yang have worked on a number of big-budget films, including Battleship and Iron Man, and they've both revealed some interesting images recently. First up is Mr. Yang, who dropped a few concept sketches of Spider-Man without saying anything about them. io9, who rounded up a bunch of this art, have concluded that these images may, in fact, be early versions of what Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man was going to look like. Aside from him being completely ripped, we definitely dig these. Spider-Man looks like a total badass, perhaps a little too much of a badass for the final film. Also interesting...

Here is our first look at some concept art for S.H.I.E.L.D.’s airborne headquarters that will (hopefully) be seen in director Joss Whedon‘s upcoming big-screen superhero team-up, The Avengers. The concept art was created by George Hull and was originally scheduled to make it’s first cinematic appearance in the Jon Favreau directed Iron Man 2.

George Hull has worked as a production artist on The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Trek: Generations among may others. Ever since Nick Fury’s debut in the post-credits scene of 2008’s “Iron Man,” fans knew they’d see more and more of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Marvel’s movie landscape. You might say it was only a matter of time before the covert security organization’s massive floating base of operations was made the latest Easter Egg-laden fortress of fan-pleasing glory.
But it might not have been as predictable where the very first images of that fortress would emerge from.
Russian website Spidermedia.Ru has posted two slides of concept art featuring the helicarrier at different angles, what appears to be a CGI mockup screen shot, and a couple comic illustrations. The designs are attributed to artist George Hull (who also worked on the “Matrix” sequels).
The site goes on to say — through translation — that the helicarrier was originally supposed to appear in “Iron Man 2” but was “shelved for later,...

Thanks to Iron Man 2, S.H.I.E.L.D's presence in the Marvel movie universe is now well established. We've seen the leader, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and we've seen a couple of agents, Black Widow and Agent Couldson (Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg). What we have yet to see, however, is the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, one of the coolest bases ever made. Essentially a floating city that houses all of the secret government organization's operations, it was only a matter of time before the flying Goliath made its way to the big screen. That day is coming with the release date of The Avengers and now, thanks to concept art, we have an idea of what it will look like. Russian website Spidermedia (via Comic Book Movie) has posted two pieces of artwork from the upcoming Joss Whedon film, designed by artist George Hull. ...

Hey gang! We've got some concept art designs here for The Avengers Heli-Carrier that will make an appearance in the upcoming Joss Whedon directed Avengers film for Marvel.
An Indian artist by the name of George Hull, who also worked on the Matrix sequels, is credited with the designs.
The Heli-Carrier in the comics is a flying aircraft carrier built by Tony Stark and serves as the mobile base of operations for S.H.I.E.L.D.
Here's the original post translated from Russian:
