- Died of a heart attack while competing in a race in Bathurst, Australia. Apparently he was having chest pains during the race and he parked his car on the grass off the side of the track. When race marshals arrived on the scene, Hulme was strapped in and slumped over in the seat.
- Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for Brabham (1965 (6 GPs)-1967) and McLaren (1968-1970 (11 GPs)-1971 (10 GPs)-1974). Denny Hulme started 112 Grands Prix, 8 Wins, 1 Pole Position, 9 Fastests Laps, 33 Podiums and 248 Points.
