Jack Hunter was born on June 4, 1921 in Hamilton, Ohio, USA. He was a writer, known for The Blue Max (1966). He was married to Shirley Thompson. He died on April 13, 2009 in St. Augustine, Florida, USA.
Operated as an American spy behind German lines during World War II. After the war he went undercover in Germany, pretending to be a black marketeer in order to track escaped Nazis who were trying to re-infiltrate the government.
Survived by three grandchildren and his brother, Robert L. Huntley of Jacksonville, FL.
Survived by his children: Jack Hunter Jr. and Jill Hunter of St. Augustine, FL; Lee Hunter Higgins of Middletown, DE; and Lyn Hunter Cannon of Solons, MD.
Had always wanted to be a pilot but couldn't because he was color-blind.
After his military service he worked as a newspaper and radio reporter, then became a congressional aide. Later he worked for DuPont in public relations.
