‘If you see one movie this summer, see Star Wars. If you see a second, see Austin Powers.’ Thus spake trailer-man, in the teaser for Mike Myers’s upcoming comedy sequel, and to a great extent, that’s exactly what happened in the summer of 1999. Well, almost.
The 20th century was running out of time and that summer was impatiently filled with as many tantalising prospects as any big movie season in recent memory. It appeared to be the summer of comebacks. Following Terrence Malick’s long-awaited return to directing in the recently-released The Thin Red Line, Summer ’99 would see not only George Lucas but Stanley Kubrick making their much-delayed encores – though we knew by then that this was actually Kubrick’s swan song.
An exercise in peak-nostalgia seemed inevitable, but the season proved to be full of surprises. None more so than the success of that second Austin Powers film,...

We are just a few weeks away from the first episode of House of the Dragon Season 2. The period fantasy drama is a prequel to Game of Thrones (2011-2019). The HBO series was created by George Rr Martin and Ryan Condal and is based on Martin’s Fire and Blood book. The story takes place 200 years before the events of GoT.
House of The Dragon stars Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Olivia Cooke, Eve Best, Tom Glynn-Carny, Ewan Mitchell, and others. The first season received a tremendous reaction and ended on a high note as we saw the bloodshed and wars. The season 2 trailers have hinted that things will only get uglier for the show’s characters. With the dragons having so much power this time, it is definitely going to be a fiery season!

If Game of Thrones was gory, s*xually explicit, and filled with n*dity and booze then wait for the House of the Dragon Season 2, as Olivia Cooke said, it has crossed the line of its sequel show. House of the Dragon Season 2 has been one of the highly anticipated television shows after the success of season 1, which gave chills to the bones to the devout fans of the saga.

Game of Thrones was necessarily a record-breaker with extremities to complement its grand narrative, but its prequel show has done wonders as well. With the House of the Dragon’s second season scheduled, Cooke, who plays Alicent Hightower in the show, gave fans some hint of what the second season entails.

Both House of the Dragon and Fallout immediately became international hits, and they share quite a few similarities between them — they both throw immensely talented but ultimately underrated actors into increasingly dangerous situations in beloved fictional worlds that were once very niche. Speaking of HotD and Fallout’s stars, though, these series brought many of them the recognition they deserved.
And now, they’re ready to tackle their next big challenge: killer squirrels. What?
New Horror Comedy Stars Talents from Iconic Shows
As recently reported by Screen Daily, director Craig Roberts is currently working on a new project: a horror comedy movie with an utterly bizarre premise. In The Scurry, a band of deranged killer squirrels decides to seek revenge on the visitors and staff of a nearby eco-café, leading the mortified and terrified humans to defend themselves.
For his upcoming flick, Roberts booked two stars from the biggest sensations of the past two years.

Ewan McGregor and Ellen Burstyn lead the cast of Mother, Couch, a film that dives deep into family dysfunction with a surreal twist. The trailer, shared exclusively with Film Movement on May 10, blends familial tension and dark comedy, setting the stage for an intense cinematic experience. The story centers on a bizarre scenario where Burstyn’s character refuses to leave a couch in a defunct furniture store. Her son David (played by Ewan McGregor), bewildered by his mother’s stubbornness, tries to enlist the help of his siblings Gruffudd (Rhys Ifans) and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) to resolve the situation. Back in March, it was announced that Eternal Beauty director Craig Roberts was set to take the helm of a horror comedy called The Scurry, working from a screenplay by The Mash Report’s Tim Telling, with House of the Dragon co-stars Olivia Cooke and Rhys Ifans on board to star alongside Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project), Mia McKenna-Bruce (How to Have Sex), and Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor). The Scurry is now filming in the UK – but Screen Daily reports that Cooke had to drop out due to scheduling issues and has been replaced by Fallout star Ella Purnell.
McKenna-Bruce also ran into scheduling issues on the way to production and had to leave the project.

If we had a nickel for every time a trailer for the second season of a big budget fantasy series based on an iconic book series released on a Tuesday in mid-May, we’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right? Yes folks, within mere hours of the first teaser for The Rings Of Power Season 2 dropping yesterday, HBO fired back with its own fancy new trailer for House Of The Dragon’s second season. And sure enough, there be dragons. Check it out below:
As you may recall, Season 1’s breathless finale saw Aemond Targaryen’s (Ewan Mitchell) dragon Vhagar brutally kill his half-sister Rhaenyra’s (Emma D’Arcy) son Lucerys (Elliot Grihault). Families, eh? Unsurprisingly, Rhaenyra’s none-too-happy about Aemond’s heinous deed, and in this new trailer things are hotting up...

HBO has released the first full-length trailer for House of the Dragon season 2 (via SFFGazette.com), and brace yourselves because it's epic. In the newly released footage, we see more of the scheming which continues in Westeros as war beckons between Queen Alicent Hightower and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.
The Targaryen civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons" is nearly upon us and this sneak peek does a phenomenal job of setting the stage for the conflict to come.
All the major players are highlighted, with the sneak peek ending on a suitably epic note as Rhaenyra stands tall with Syrax looming large behind her. Who will prevail? Book readers (and most Game of Thrones fans) will know, but we won't spoil anything here,
"The first season was so much about the royal family, that 1 percent of the upper 1 percent that rules this world. All the people in the...

On Tuesday, HBO released the full trailer for “House of the Dragon” Season 2, which premieres June 16.
The eight-episode second season of the “Game of Thrones” prequel finds the Targaryens in a civil war, with the Greens – supporters of Aegon II Targaryn (Tom Glynn-Carney), son of late king Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and the traditional heir – on one side, and the Blacks – partisans of Viserys’ daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), Viserys’ chosen heir, and her husband/uncle Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) on the other. Both sides claim the Iron Throne, and they will kill their kin to get it.
The trailer previews the combination of political strategy, intense action, and interpersonal backstabbing that’s the “Game of Thrones” franchise’s signature. On the political side, there’s a small council meeting where Aegon forcefully rejects the idea of dignity in favor of revenge. On the action side,...

All hail the king ... or the queen! Which one has the rightful claim, you ask? Well, that depends on which side you happen to have sworn allegiance to in the great Targaryen schism known as the Dance of the Dragons.
"House of the Dragon" lived up to its billing as an essential "Game of Thrones" prequel, set hundreds of years before Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen ever made their claims on the Iron Throne. HBO is rolling out some beauteous dragon footage and a potty-mouthed Aegon in the season 2 trailer for House of the Dragon, which returns June 16.
The drama based on on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood” is setting up an epic war between the Targaryens and the Hightowers following the Season 1 finale, which saw tragedy befall the former (R.I.P Prince Lucerys Velaryon) at the hands of the latter (Prince Aemond Targaryen). “House of the Dragon” Season 2 is about to soar onto screens soon.
After Season 2 was first unveiled at Ccxp in Sao Paolo in December 2023 with a teaser, and later released viral dueling trailers, the season of the dragon is almost upon audiences. Season 2 will not have a time jump like in Season 1, and instead solely focus on former besties turned step-family Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) as they both battle for the Iron Throne.
Per the official synopsis, after the death of King Viserys I (Paddy Considine), an undeniable rift has grown between his daughter Rhaenyra (D’Arcy) and wife Alicent (Cooke), after their close friendship as teenagers. A rift that’s now a full-blown civil war.

"You didn't have to go all crazy just to get the three of us together!" Film Movement has revealed an official trailer for Mother, Couch, a very strange dark comedy from filmmaker Niclas Larsson making his feature directorial debut. This premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival last fall to plenty of mixed reviews, one of the big discoveries from last year's fest even though critics are divided on it. Three children are brought together when their mother refuses to move from a display couch in a furniture store. Which sends them all on an existential odyssey. TIFF intro adds: Ewan McGregor, Rhys Ifans, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Ellen Burstyn star in this sublime and eccentric story about the grand expanse that parents occupy within our lives and the family that has to come together to help you find your way. The cast also includes F. Murray Abraham, Lake Bell, and Taylor Russell.

Ewan McGregor and Ellen Burstyn are a toxic son-mother duo just in time for Mother’s Day.
The aptly titled indie film “Mother, Couch” marks first time filmmaker Niclas Larsson’s directorial debut. Larsson penned the script based on Jerker Virdborg’s novel “Mamma I Soffa” that centers on a dysfunctional family trying to convince their mother (Burstyn) to leave a department store.
A trio of estranged children — David (McGregor), Gruffudd (Rhys Ifans), and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) — must figure out how to escape the eerie store that is owned by identical twins Marco and Marcus (F. Murray Abraham) and daughter Bella (Taylor Russell). The film becomes a descent into madness and mayhem as the store melts into a surreal purgatory where the two families must purge their long-withheld resentments.
“Mother, Couch” is produced by Ella Bishop and Pau Suris for Suris/Bishop Films, Alex Black for Lyrical Media, and Sara Murphy for Fat City.

When Game of Thrones wrapped up its run after eight seasons, it seemed it had ruined any chance of a spinoff due to the poor fan reaction to the final season.
House of the Dragon, a prequel charting the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty, premiered in 2022 and delivered plenty of fantasy drama to reignite interest in the franchise.
The Targaryen storyline is interesting because we didn’t meet many of them on the original series due to them being dead.
House of the Dragon Season 1 successfully established the conflicts between the Greens and the Blacks to prepare for the mother of all battles on House of the Dragon Season 2.
With new episodes fast approaching, it’s time to delve into everything we know about the next chapter.

When it comes to the character of Spider-Man, we’ve seen it all from Sam Raimi’s iconic trilogy, the MCU’s more tech-heavy and modern trilogy, some stunning animated Miles Morales films, and even a catalogue of disappointing spin-offs which follow villains like Venom and Morbius. Even Madame Web delivered yet another mediocre spin-off film in Sony’s ongoing attempt to give us Spider-Man movies that don’t feature Spider-Man. But tucked away in the depths of the Spider-Verse is Marc Webb’s 2012 reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man. A film that was released just 5 years after Raimi’s disappointing third installment of the Tobey Maguire era and was marketed to be the untold story of Peter Parker and capture the darker elements of the character and his origins. This, of course is hot off the success of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and Dark Knight films which had added a...

While the MCU may now be satisfying the hunger of comic book fans with every major superhero and supervillain making an appearance in the MCU, there’s a certain charm to the films in Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy which makes them unforgettable.
Even after the untimely conclusion of the original series more than a decade and a half ago, fans still fondly remember the iconic moments that those films left for the industry.
Tobey Maguire in and as Spider-Man
Although the trilogy is revered as one of the best, the last film is pretty controversial since it led to the downfall of the franchise. And now, according to one of the stars from the originals, the next installment was aiming to do the same thing by introducing multiple new villains like The Lizard and The Vulture all at once, which had proven fatal for it before.

Could the long-awaited Spider-Man 4 finally be in the works? Fans of Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire have been waiting on that chestnut for seventeen years. Now, the master of the Evil Dead is addressing the rumors!
Comicbook.com is reporting that the director hasn’t been approached officially for a new Spider-Man “yet,” but Raimi is already connected to the MCU, so that may have gotten the ball rolling:
“I haven’t talked to Tobey about it, but maybe Marvel has, or Columbia Pictures. But I just worked with Marvel on a movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So, I’m on great terms with them. I’m sure I would hear about it if it was in the works. I think so. I don’t know.“
While speaking with Comicbook.com, Curt Connors himself, Dylan Baker, commented on the missed opportunity to introduce the Lizard in the unproduced Spider-Man 4.

"Sex 'n bugs 'n sausage rolls." ShineHouse has revealed a new official US trailer for a British indie comedy called La Cha Cha, directed by filmmaker Kevin Allen. After first premiering in the UK in 2021 during the pandemic, the film is set for a VOD release in the US this April a few years later. Liam Hourican stars as Solti Buttering, who is on a road trip to scatter his grandfather's ashes. Along the way he stumbles upon "La Cha Cha", a closed holiday park with a lively off-grid retiree community. Struggling to keep the place going, feisty owner Libby and brother Damien unveil an unconventional plan to sustain it and the residents. This also stars Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Sonny Ashbourne Serkis, Dougray Scott, Alfie Allen, Keith Allen, Llyr Ifans, with Rhys Ifans & Melanie Waters. Even with an impressive cast, looks as kooky and as strange as they come. Not sure it'll appeal to many!

“House of the Dragon” Releases Dueling Season 2 Trailers
Are you Team Green or Team Black?
HBO has released two new trailers for the upcoming second season of its “Game of Thrones” spinoff series “House of the Dragon.”
The new trailers, which set the series’ return on the cabler and Max late this spring, respectively focus on Princess Rhaenrya Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy), Prince Daemon (Matt Smith), and their black faction, and on Alicent Hightower’s (Olivia Cooke) green King’s Landing team of Alicent.
The fantasy drama series, based on author George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” details the history of House Targaryen nearly 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.” Season 1 followed Rhaenyra in her fight to be named the chosen heir of King Viserys I (Patty Considine) and the lead-up to the Dance of the Dragons.

Combining George R.R. Martin’s expansive imagination with Warner Bros. Discovery’s equally expansive marketing budget has turned out to be one of pop culture’s great cheat codes.
HBO has announced the official release date for House of the Dragon season 2 and it’s done so in particularly grand fashion. That’s because the announcement was accompanied not just by one trailer but by two. In honor of the show’s plot about the Dance of the Dragons civil war fought between two Targaryen factions, HBO is inviting viewers to choose the trailer experience that most closely corresponds to their “side.”
First up is the “Green Trailer” for those who are inclined to support Aegon II’s (Tom Glynn-Carney) claim to the Iron Throne.
Then there is the “Black Trailer” for supporters of Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) on Dragonstone, Viserys I’s eldest daughter and the would-be first female monarch of the Seven Kingdoms.

If you’ve been patiently waiting for some more concrete news on House Of The Dragon season 2, we have some good news for you.
HBO has released two new trailers for the upcoming season and given it a release date.
The new season will air on HBO starting from 16th June in the US and 17th June in the UK on Sky Atlantic. UK viewers can either watch the episode at 2am at the same time as our American friends or watch it in the usual primetime spot at 9pm.
Now then, the trailers.
The reason there’s two is that viewers can choose their side between Green and Black, aimed to represent the conflict between King Aemon and Queen Rhaenyra, both of whom believe they have the birthright to the throne.

“House of the Dragon” is asking viewers to pick a side in Season 2: Rhaenyra’s black faction or Alicent’s green team?
HBO dropped two unique trailers Thursday for Season 2, which premieres on June 16. One trailer focuses on Rhaenrya, Prince Daemon and their forces on Dragonstone, and the other is centered on the King’s Landing team of Alicent, her father Otto and her children King Aegon and Prince Aemond. Taking place 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” will officially mark the start of the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war.
In the wake of the Season 1 finale, in which Aemond murders Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys and his dragon, war is imminent in Westeros. The blacks and the greens are both gathering their forces, dragons and new allies to face off in a bloody, fiery battle to the death.
