An interview series hosted by Isaac Mizrahi, a workplace improv comedy created by Ron Howard and a true-crime deep dive into a notorious murder case from L.A.’s early 1980s punk rock scene with Penelope Spheeris highlight the first slate of original podcasts produced by Imagine Entertainment through its joint venture with radio and podcasting giant iHeartMedia.
Imagine and iHeart set a podcast production deal in December 2021. The first fruits of that partnership debut today with the launch of “Hello Isaac,” a weekly interview series featuring the fashion and media entrepreneur sitting down with notable figures such as Carson Kressley and Andy Cohen. New episodes will debut Mondays.

"Believe it or not, 'Eraserhead' is my most spiritual film," said surrealist auteur David Lynch in an interview, and this moment has become a meme template over the years. When asked to elaborate, the director smiled and simply said no in the most David Lynch way, emphasizing his philosophy of subjective interpretation and a refusal to "explain" his art. This outlook remains true to the essence of Lynch's oeuvre — most of his work is rooted in dream or nightmare logic, meant to be experienced instead of dissected or understood. Abstract ideas form chilling vignettes of what can only be described as grotesque or deeply surreal, such as his intensely hallucinatory "Inland Empire," which still defies explanation beyond the core themes that drive the film. Perhaps, that is the point of it all: Dreams often do not make sense, even to the dreamer, but act as portals to...

For years, Lee Ving, the vocalist and leader of impish punk bruisers Fear, has been teasing the release of a song the group recorded with John Belushi in 1981. He's finally putting out the tune — the appropriately snotty-sounding "Neighbors," which was supposed to accompany the Belushi movie of the same name — digitally on Halloween and as a special seven-inch in November. But even before the decades-long wait for its release, the origins of the recording were steeped in strife.

Austin has a drive-in movie theater? Really? No way! Actually it makes total sense, since Austin is a city that really loves movies and really loves cars [and pickup trucks and SUVs]. Besides, it seems to never rain here, so the weather is perfect for outdoor movie screenings. Way back in 2010, native Austinite Josh Frank (author of “In Heaven Everything is Fine: The Unsolved Life of Peter Ivers and the Lost History of New Wave Theatre” and “Fool the World: The Oral History of a Band Called Pixies”) took a cue from San Francisco’s mobile drive-in MobMov.org — he constructed a modestly sized outdoor screen, acquired some car-speaker posts from defunct drive-ins via eBay, and restored a vintage runabout to use as a concession stand. Frank’s Mini Urban Drive-in, The Blue Starlite, has existed in varying capacities and locations for the last two years. When he found out a few months ago that his lease at 1001 E 6th Street would...

Whether it’s art, films, weather reports or everything in between, David Lynch is a constant innovator. But music? David Lynch is gearing up for his solo singing debut on Crazy Clown Time.
Visionary filmmaker David Lynch will make his solo debut as a musical artist this fall with Crazy Clown Time. Produced and written by Lynch, the album’s 14 original songs spotlight him on guitar and vocals. The album will be released on November 8 by independent British label Sunday Best Recordings / Pias in America.
Two tracks released late last year – “Good Day Today” and “I Know” – already have American and British critics buzzing about the album. The Los Angeles Times writes: “Frightening effects and mysterious lyrics: this is Lynch’s most unexpected venture to date.” The BBC declares: “Now David Lynch leaves his stamp on the music world as well…” The Washington Post adds: “Every bit as pleasantly odd...

David Lynch is one of the most enigmatic and eccentric film directors (in a good way) that I know of. He has always pushed the envelope with his experimental style in his feature films and televsion work. I recently had the pleasure of watching Twin Peaks in it's entirety and I loved every minute of it.
The album is set for release this fall and will have 14 original songs that feature Lynch on guitar and vocals. Music has played such an integral part in all of his work on screen, so this album is one that I am interested in hearing.

Ok so now I guess I hadn’t been paying much attention these last few days, crazy at work, but these almost slipped me by.
First up is a Eraserhead poster which is made for a screening of the film at the Alamo Ritz on september 1st to commemorate author Josh Frank, who’s book “In Heaven Everything Is Fine: The Unsolved Life of Peter Ivers and the Lost History of New Wave Theatre” features David Lynch’s epic art house landmark film quite a bit. The poster is made by Mark Pedini and is hand pulled silk screen on heavy paper. The thing goes for 25 bucks and should be on the wall of every serious Lynch fan out there.
The two others should go quite rabidly. Poster Mega Star Tyler Stout has produced a effin sweet Mad Max 2 poster in two versions, the variant is sold out already and...
