Caitlin Clark has already broken barriers in college basketball, and now she’s broken one in pro sports, even before leaving the NCAA.
Ice Cube’s professional Big3 league has offered the Iowa Hawkeyes’ point guard $5 million to play in the 3-on-3 half-court basketball competition. She would be the first woman to compete in the league stacked with former NBA players.
After TMZ initially reported the news, Cube confirmed it on Twitter, writing, “BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”
The deal would reportedly allow Clark to still play in the WNBA after the 10-week Big3 season is over.
In January 2017, Ice Cube, along with entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz, announced the launch of the Big3, promising that it would feature some of the best players to ever play the game. Cube and...

Mark Cuban says he plans to leave the ABC unscripted series Shark Tank after nearly 15 years as a regular on the program.
Cuban tells The Hollywood Reporter that he expects to leave in 2025, after the next season is over.
The billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks initially revealed the decision in an All the Smoke podcast episode that aired last week, sharing with the hosts and ex-nba players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson that it was time for him to move on.
“I just want to have a couple summers with my teens before they go off on their own,” Cuban added in an email to THR. “Nothing to do with the show. I love it. I love being on it. I love what [it] represents and how it motivates entrepreneurs around the world.”
He previously told Forbes that he has invested $29 million in at least 85 companies since joining Shark Tank.

Mark Cuban is gearing up for a goodbye, it seems, as the businessman hinted Season 16 of ABC‘s Shark Tank will be his last. Appearing on Showtime‘s podcast All The Smoke with hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Cuban opened up about his career, basketball behind the scenes, and Shark Tank, among other topics. When asked by Barnes and Jackson about his deals tied to the show, Cuban said, “This is our fifteenth year, next year’s sixteenth year is gonna be my last year. So I’ve got one more year to go.” Renewed for Season 15, ABC hasn’t confirmed Shark Tank‘s future at this time, nor has Cuban’s supposed future exit from the Mark Burnett-created reality hit featuring fellow business giants Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Kevin O’Leary. Jada Pinkett Smith and the late Tupac Shakur's were-they-weren't-they relationship is one that still intrigues fans nearly three decades after his tragic death. On Sept. 20, a week after the 27th anniversary of the rapper's death, Pinkett Smith took a trip down memory lane and posted an old clip of the two on Instagram ironically rapping along to her estranged husband Will Smith's classic '80s hit "Parents Just Don't Understand."
"Not in a million years would I have dreamed that the Fresh Prince and I would become, um, very acquainted," she captioned the video, referring to her husband's rap name. "Not in a million years did I imagine three lives, their fates, would be so intertwined. London, March 13 (Ians) A new wrist device has shown to significantly reduce the severity and frequency of tics among people with Tourette syndrome, according to results of a clinical trial.
In the trial, which included 121 people across the UK, the prototype wrist device –Neupulse — delivered electrical pulses to reduce the amount and severity of tics experienced by individuals with Tourette’s.
Tourette Syndrome (Ts) is a neurodevelopmental condition that is usually diagnosed between the ages of eight and 12. It causes involuntary sounds and movements called tics.
Tics are repetitive, stereotyped movements and vocalisations that occur in bouts, typically many times in a single day, and are often preceded by a strong urge-to-tic, referred to as a premonitory urge (Pu).
“The Neupulse device has shown the potential to dramatically improve the lives of those with Tourette syndrome, who often face challenges managing their tics, by providing increased control over their tics on demand,...

Rachel Nichols, a veteran sports TV host whose lengthy ESPN tenure was cut short by controversy, is finally re-emerging in a new on-air home.
She is joining Showtime Basketball, a new content vertical on the Paramount Global premium network, and will contribute to multiple programs and projects. Along with the announcement of her new corporate address, Nichols took part in her first sit-down interview about the circumstances surrounding the ESPN situation.
In 2021, Nichols was removed from The Jump, ESPN’s signature NBA show, and the show was canceled after an audio recording surfaced including comments Nichols, who is white, made about former colleague Maria Taylor, who is Black. Nichols contends that an ESPN staffer recorded her without her knowledge via a remote-video hookup and then supplied the recording to The New York Times. The news outlet framed the audio as evidence of racial insensitivity directed at Taylor. Nichols later settled with the network, but in the interview with All the Smoke, a Showtime video podcast hosted by former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Nichols describes what she says were extreme restrictions on her options during and immediately after an internal ESPN investigation into the matter.
In the All the Smoke conversation, Nichols pushed back on the characterization of her exit by The Times and other outlets. She said her contract extension in 2019 had included a stipulation that she would be the studio host for the ESPN/ABC coverage of the NBA Finals on NBA Countdown, which she called “my dream job.” When Taylor was positioned in 2020 to host Countdown instead, Nichols said, “I thought, ‘I have worked so long for this’ … I wanted the chance to do it.” When she vented to a friend about the situation during the bubble environment in Florida in 2020, a colleague cherrypicked material from that conversation.
Nichols, who has developed a specialty in NBA coverage during her 25-year career, will join a roster at Showtime that includes Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Jr Smith and Twitter influencer Josiah Johnson.
“We are delighted to welcome Rachel Nichols to the Showtime Basketball family,” said Brian Dailey, SVP Sports Programming & Content at Showtime Networks. “Rachel brings unmatched journalistic credibility, great familiarity with our roster and a work ethic that will take us to another level.”
Nichols created and hosted The Jump from its inception as a daily ESPN show in 2016 to 2021. She has also covered multiple Super Bowls, World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, Olympic Games and tennis and golf majors, after nearly a decade writing for the Washington Post. At Turner Sports from 2013-16, she hosted Unguarded with Rachel Nichols on CNN, covered the NBA for TNT, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on CBS and TBS, the MLB playoffs on TBS, the NFL and boxing. During her first stint at ESPN starting in 2004, she covered the NFL, NBA, contributed as a correspondent for E:60 and appeared on SportsCenter.
“I’ve been so fortunate to live my dream job alongside some of the best journalists in the business for more than 25 years, and this new development deal with Showtime Sports gives me my most broad playing field yet,” Nichols said. “They’ve asked me to produce, create and host new sports programming across platforms, working alongside Hall of Famers, multiple guys with championship rings and an uber-creative team behind the camera. We’re going to have so much fun.”...

NBA veteran Rex Chapman is turning his podcast “Charges with Rex Chapman” into a TV show. Like the podcast, the new series will come from Portal A and Steve Nash’s Ctrl Media.
Chapman spent 12 years in the NBA, playing for the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Bullets, Miami Heat and Phoenix Sun. But he later struggled with opioid and gambling addictions that led to his arrest. Using his experience as a pro athlete with his own challenges, Chapman will host “Charges” as the podcast is adapted into a TV documentary series chronicling high-profile sports scandals – “with the world’s most beloved and notorious athletes reliving the momentous events that spawned their infamy,” according to the logline.
“Charges” will focus on sports figures, but also plans to look at other stories in entertainment and pop culture.
Evan Jackson Leong will serve as director and showrunner.

“Untold” is ostensibly about sports, but there’s a curious connector across the new Netflix documentary series. In each of the five episodes, as the best laid plans of teams and athletes begin to unravel, TV ends up a catalyzing factor. Partly, that’s the inevitable byproduct of fame: More notoriety leads to more eyeballs and all the swirling problems that increased attention can bring.
But the parade of nightly news reports and late-night talk show guest spots also illustrates what makes “Untold” such an enticing premise to be seen through a sports lens. As the title implies, the series examines specific chapters in a variety of sports, offering the people at the center the chance to share their feelings years (or in some cases decades) later.
Some of these have a true-crime tinge to them, as with installments covering a minor league hockey team caught up in a federal...

Maclain and Chapman Way, the creators behind Netflix’s sports docuseries “Untold,” hope you don’t remember much about the Malice at the Palace. In fact, they’re betting you don’t.
“It’s been almost a little reduced to a six-minute YouTube video,” Maclain Way tells TheWrap. “Once a year, it pops up and gets like millions and millions of hits.”
The Malice at the Palace is one of the most infamous events in the NBA’s history. A quick refresher: In November 2004, a game between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference (the Pistons were coming off a title the previous year), was called off before it could finish after Pacers forward Ron Artest went into the stands to fight with a fan after he was hit with a cup filled with beer. Updated, 10:30 a.m: After three days of turmoil, ESPN announced Tuesday that Maria Taylor will be hosting the network’s pregame and halftime shows for the NBA Finals. NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar addressed anti-Semitism in the sports world and Hollywood in a new column for The Hollywood Reporter. In his piece, he questioned why in the midst of the Black Lives Matters movement, there has not appeared to be much outrage against anti-Semitic messages that several prominent celebrities have shared online. Gamebooks were all the rage in the early ’80s when CRPGs were not evolved enough to conjure up a convincing, colorful fantasy world, but, even back then, they always felt like a substitute, a quick fix for the rainy days and stray hours when you couldn’t set up a D&D session with your friends.
