The 1970s Richard Pryor-headlined comedy Car Wash - that gave us the song of the same name - is getting a remake...
Universal is eyeing up a remake of the 1976 comedy Car Wash, that originally starred Richard Pryor. He led the cast, alongside The Pointer Sisters, Bill Duke, George Carlin, Otis Day and Lorraine Gray. You may very well be familiar with the title song, too.
Car Wash followed the employees of, well, a car wash across a day of their lives. The new version thus far only has producers attached. Suzanne Coston is producing the rename, with Suzanne de Passe executive producing.
As of yet, it’s unclear how closely the new film will reflect and/or mirror the first, and the search is on for a writer for the new film. More news as we get it, as always…

The Sundance Film Festival isn't just about watching new movies on the big screen -- it's also about re-creating them on the dance floor, too. One of the most anticipated parties at this year's festival was in celebration of the terrific documentary about the history of National Lampoon called Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead. Featuring rare, never-before-seen footage, the film tracks the comedic publication and production company behind classics like Animal House and Vacation from its beginnings in the 1970s all the way through 2010. Speaking of Animal House, Sundance partygoers were especially excited for this party because it was to feature togas and a performance from none other than Otis Day, who you might remember from this... At some point after...

To mark the upcoming release of Bad Neighbours, we've decided to compile what we think are the wildest movie house parties of all time. Zac Efron and his frat buddies would be hard-pressed to beat some of these, although there's no doubt they'd down some booze and give it a good go.
Take a look at Digital Spy's cream of the crop below...
Animal House (1978)
This is where it all started, the house party to end (or inspire) all house parties. The toga party that featured in the 1978 classic Animal House has been recreated numerous times in both film and real life, proving just how awesome this bash really was. With an amazing performance of 'Shout' by Otis Day and the Knights and plenty of John Belushi, how could this not have made the list?
Weird Science (1985)
It's a Saturday night and you've got no plans. Oh, except the dream...

Chicago – She wrote a book called “Samurai Widow,” and was married to John Belushi from 1976 to his death in 1982. She is Judy Belushi, and she will be part of a cast reunion of the classic film “Animal House,” to be presented at the theaters Hollywood Palms in Naperville (Illinois) and Hollywood Blvd in Woodridge, on November 15th-17th, 2013.
Judy Belushi was with John before the beginning of his superstardom, having met him in high school at Wheaton, Illinois, where they both grew up. She followed him through his early years at The Second City in Chicago in 1971, and moved to New York City in 1973 when Belushi got a job with “The National Lampoon Radio Hour.” Many of his radio colleagues became original cast members with Belushi on a new late night TV show in 1975, “Saturday Night Live.” From there, John Belushi became a sensation with the 1978 release of “Animal House...

We here at EW were looking for a way to salute some classic school-set comedies from the late 70s and 80s for our Comedy Issue, which hits stands today. We could have done it with conventional weapons, but that would have taken years and cost millions of lives. We had to all go out, as this situation absolutely required a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part. The good news? We knew just the guys to do it: The students at Greendale Community College! The nine stars of the clever and refer-ential NBC comedy Community recreated...

I’m just gonna say it… We Like To Party, but even we can’t party as hard as the Wolfpack! Alan, Stu and Phil are bringing the party back to theaters this Thursday with The Hangover Part II, so we thought, what better way to ring in the party than to count down our favorite party animals!
These are the cool kids that bring the party! They rage, they get down… heck, they might even get “jiggy wit it”! Sure, they might not be from the fluorescent box of crayons, but these folks can MacGyver a good time out of a paper clip, a broomstick and a Nelson cassette. (Yep, I said it!)
So, without further adeu…
Top Ten Party Animals Honorable Mention: Trent (Vince Vaughn) Swingers (1996)

After a Ted-heavy plot did a decent job opening the season, How I Met Your Mother went to their closer to make sure there was no second episode slump this week.
On "Cleaning House," Barney got the party started with his Bronx Zoo story of monkey business and then Robin asks if anyone watched The Deadliest Catch last night. Lily covers her ears and yells, “spoiler alert!” A slave to my DVR, I am always doing the same thing until I can get caught up on recent shows.
Ted lost me on the whole underselling of his Karate Kid analogy. No fan of the 1984 hit, let alone someone who claims it is one of the best movies ever, would refer to John Kreese as merely “the Cobra Kai Sensei.” Great idea, poor execution Ted. Sort of like when Daniel Larusso tried the Crane kick against Chozen in Karate Kid Part...

Ten Movie Bands We Wish Were Real From School of Rock to Crucial Taunt, the greatest rockers of cinema. By Jon Blistein The just-released Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is just as much about music as it is about video games and evil ex-boyfriends; the soundtrack features songs by Beck written for the titular character's band, Sex Bob-Omb. In tribute, we're honoring the best fake bands in movie history. Please note: this list does not include any fake band that went on to actually release a record (aside from the movie's original soundtrack) or tour. So that means no Spinal Tap, no Otis Day & The Knights, and no 2ge+her (which is too bad, because those guys were hilarious). 1) Crucial Taunt, Wayne's World The greatest musical component of Wayne's World will always be the "Bohemian Rhapsody" scene, but love interest Cassandra'[...]...

It's a sad, sad day here at MTV News. Even as we all recover from last night's Movie Awards, we're forced to confront the cold, harsh reality of another talented artist leaving us too soon. Marvin Isley, The Isley Brothers' bass player, died yesterday in Chicago at the age of 56.
The Isley Brothers were one of the premiere pop funk-soul groups of the '70s, responsible for a range of hits that include "It's Your Thing," "That Lady," "Between the Sheets" (which Notorious B.I.G. famously sampled for Big Poppa) and, of course, "Shout," among many others. They've released more than 30 albums since "Shout!" debuted in 1959. What's more, many of those songs have gone on to put in memorable movie appearances. I've embedded my very favorite, a true classic, after the jump. R.I.P., Marvin... you will be missed.
To be fair, this rendition of "Shout" comes from Otis Day & the Knights,...
