Jack & Jack singer Jack Johnson minces no words about singer Madison Beer while talking about a leaked recording of her ex and his duo partner Jack Gilinsky insulting her. Meanwhile, she is speaking out again about the alleged abuse. Earlier this month, a recording of Gilinsky calling then-girlfriend Beer a "f--king slut" was posted online. Gilinsky then confirmed the recording was authentic and recorded last year and apologized for his words. On Saturday, Johnson released a YouTube video titled "The Truth," which went viral. In the edited footage, he says he would never "justify anything Jack said" in the audio but...

After becoming social media stars thanks in large part to their popular Vines, Jack Johnson and Jack Gilinsky -- known collectively as Jack & Jack -- have turned their attention to the world of music. Their second Ep, Gone, arrived in May 2017, and thanks to the support of Samsung, they were able to promote it in an extraordinary way. A partnership with the tech company yielded music videos for each song on the record, including three 360-degree offerings made available through Samsung Vr.
Gone is a concept album about the rise and fall of a relationship. “The lyrics and the videos convey the story,” said Gilinsky in a press release. “The first few tracks are about infatuation and falling for a girl. The later tracks are all about the breakup. It’s going to make our fans feel a specific way. If you’re in love or you’re dealing with heartbreak,...

Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes, and clips and puts it all in perspective. A lot of fun people are in Easy, an anthology series about modern romance by auteur Joe Swanberg (Drinking Buddies). Jack Johnson (New Girl), Marc Maron (Maron), Hannibal Buress (Broad City), not to mention headliners Orlando Bloom and Malin Akerman. I was more impressed with the ensemble of talent than the material itself. I've seen some of these jokes before. But Joe Swanberg does nuanced character comedy, so the charm of his work might have gotten a little lost in this trailer. If you are someone who prefers contemporary realistic romance, there's been less of that material out there, these days. Give it a watch and tell me if you like it. ...

When Black-ish creator Kenya Barris found texts on his 16-year-old daughter’s phone from a few of her white male friends invoking the N-word, he lost it. “I was like, Hold on! I was like, What? I went off on her. Do you know this isn’t just a word? Alright everybody, looks like tropical house isn’t cool anymore. Justin Bieber has uploaded a 12-second clip from his follow-up to his and Jack Ü’s collaboration “Where Are Ü Now,” and artists like Kygo, Klingande and Thomas Jack must be rolling their eyes at his co-opting of their signature style.
Opening with an upbeat acoustic guitar sample that almost sounds like a Jack Johnson riff, the sample of “What Do You Mean” transitions from verse to chorus incorporating the flute-like synth characteristic of trop house into its arrangement. It sounds stylistically close enough to his Jack Ü track to signify that the pop singer’s foray into Edm may be more than a passing phase, but at the same time, it’s hard to see it as anything more than a disingenuous marketing ploy.
Nonetheless, any interested parties will be glad to know that Justin Bieber‘s “What Do...

The film Million Dollar Arm is a family-friendly drama that is based on the real-life story of the first Indian athletes to become involved with any major American sports franchise. The film was directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Tom McCarthy. Champs is as much about boxing as it is about the triumph, and failure, of the so-called American Dream. The Mike Tyson-produced documentary from first-time director Bert Marcus explores our very unique brand of patriotic idealism through the prism of a sport that gave us greats like Jack Johnson and Muhammad Ali, a sport that can oftentimes be as awe-inspiring as it is brutal. Rather than an overview of the entire history of boxing, Champs hones in on the stories of three specific champion fighters - Tyson, Evander Holyfield, and Bernard Hopkins. Chronicling the incredibly different trajectories of their careers, the documentary highlights the common threads that they and many...

American ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White will be going home with Olympic gold medals to add to their collection - bronze from the new figure skating team event and silver from the 2010 Olympics - and the first Olympic ice dancing title for the United States. As ice dancing favorites, much is already known about the pair, such as they're not very superstitious, although they always hug their moms before a competition. And they've been skating together since 1997, having grown up 10 minutes apart in the Michigan suburbs. But here are some things you may not know about the winning couple.

It's time to ring in the Christmas season over on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." To get viewers into the right mood, singer-songwriter Jack Johnson stopped by in an awful Christmas sweater for a very mellow performance of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" with The Roots.
Johnson's version of the song includes an extra verse, with Rudolph calling out the reindeer who make fun of him. They apologize and everyone learns a little something about standing up for yourself, especially if you are eligible for a job with Santa Claus.

Despite premiering to mixed reviews at the New York Film Festival earlier this fall (read our own take right here), Fox is still all in on the Ben Stiller-starring and helmed update of “The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.” With the film hitting theaters next month, the details for film’s soundtrack have been released. Set to be released digitally a week before the film’s release date, the soundtrack will be a rather folksy affair with tracks from Of Monsters and Men, Grace Mitchell and new songs written for the film from Jose Gonzalez. And that's not all, Gonazlez's band Junip also have some cuts as does nice guy Jack Johnson, indie rockers Rogue Wave and the legendary David Bowie with a new mix of "Space Oddity" featuring Kristen Wiig. Yes, really. You can pre-order the soundtrack now and purchase the first single, Jose Gonzalez’s “Step Out” from iTunes.

Jack Johnson brought his mellow vibes to an appreciative, sold-out crowd Saturday night at downtown Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre as part of his From Here to Now to You tour. The intimate show -- the venue holds just over 2,000 people -- found the Hawaii-based surfer-singer-songwriter mixing his charting singles with several songs from his new album (also titledFrom Here to Now to You), which became his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 upon its release last month. Johnson had an easygoing banter with the crowd; at one point, he even said he'd take requests --
