"Texas Frightmare Weekend announced it has extended the dates for its companion Texas Frightmare Film Festival this year (April 28–May 1). Highlights from the lineup include the Us premiere of Tim Sullivan’s 2001 Maniacs: Field Of Screams, George Romero’s Survival Of The Dead, and Adam Green’s Sundance hit Frozen.
Green’s Frozen stars Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell, and Kevin Zegers and follows the life or death choices a trio of skiers and snowboarders must make when they find themselves abandoned on a ski resort chairlift. The film, which was a surprise hit at the Sundance Film Festival in January, will screen at the Studio Movie Grill in Lewisville on Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00Pm.

Writer/director Tim Sullivan sent along a few new, exclusive pics (see ’em below) from his sequel to 2001 Maniacs, which has altered its moniker. Originally 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys, it now bears the subtitle Field Of Screams, and the movie is having its first screenings at next month’s American Film Market in La.
The story follows the happily murderous residents of Pleasant Valley as they trek west and encounter a reality-tv crew that seeks to exploit them, precipitating a new bloodbath. “I truly believe this film has exceeded the first in every way possible,” Sullivan says. “It’s an over-the-top ride filled with sexiness, bloodiness and lots of politically incorrect humor. If the original didn’t secure me a warm spot in hell, this one will for sure.” Bill Moseley takes over for the original’s Robert Englund as Mayor Buckman, and the cast also includes returnees Lin Shaye and Christa Campbell,...
