Exclusive: Allen Leech and India Mullen will lead the cast of an Irish drama series for AMC Networks’ Sundance Now and local broadcaster Virgin Media Television, we’ve learned.
The pair will topline six-part drama The Vanishing Triangle, which goes into production later this year with a U.S.-UK-Ireland production set-up, and Eccho Rights attached as international distributor. The show is inspired on true events that shook Ireland in the 1990s, when several women disappeared. While the characters and events in the series are fictional, the producers have spoken to several of the real life victims’ families, and hope the show will keep their stories in the Irish public’s mind. The show title is regularly used in the Irish media to refer to the events, which began with the disappearance of American woman Annie McCarrick in 1993 and spiraled to involve many similar cases.

With stirring testimony on offer from the organisers of the groundbreaking women’s peace camp, this doc doesn’t need its superfluous dramatic recreations
If ever there was a film guaranteed to bring a tear to the eye of sentimental Guardian readers of a certain age, it’s this one. Essentially, it’s a straight-up talking-heads-and-archive-footage documentary about the Greenham Common women’s peace camp as told by some of the activists who were there, with a few dramatic recreations knitted in. These acted bits, shot on setups that mimic the look of early 1980s video footage and grainy Super 8, aren’t necessarily badly made, and in fact are almost convincing at moments as fake archive footage. But they do lower the tone and cheapen Briar March’s earnest, unabashedly emotional chronicle, which throws a long-overdue spotlight on a chapter in the history of civil disobedience.

Universal Pictures has debuted the trailer for the powerful documentary ‘Mothers of the Revolution.’

Forty years ago, these everyday human beings began with that first step on their march to Greenham Common and became the heroes of a movement that changed the world.
Directed by Briar March, the doc is produced by prolific filmmaker Matthew Metcalfe and Leela Menon.

"I think they know what we're up to... It's like they were playing games with us." Someone is out-tricking the tricksters. 4Digital Media has released an official trailer for an indie horror film titled The Village in the Woods, made by UK filmmaker Raine McCormack. This already opened in cinemas in the UK last year, and is arriving on VOD in the US in January. Every village, every person, has a secret... none more so than the inhabitants of this isolated, murky village whose fate relies on the luring of two unsuspecting pawns to satisfy their appetite and determine their being. After arriving in town, their paranoia slowly builds to terror as unsettling and grim events unfold. The indie film stars Beth Park, Therese Bradley, Richard Hope, Robert Vernon, Rebecca Johnson, Sidney Kean, Timothy Harker, Katie Alexander-Thom, and Phill Martin. This looks like a very tricky, fun "village in the...

(L-r) ‘The Pact’ leads Abbie Hern, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Laura Fraser, Eiry Thomas and Heledd Gwynn.
As Wentworth was coming to an end on Foxtel, its originating screenwriter Pete McTighe was keen to create another female-led ensemble series, but one with a point of difference.
Having lived in Wales for three years, crafting episodes of the BBC’s Doctor Who and the Sky/AMC/BBCAmerica supernatural drama A Discovery of Witches, he came up with the idea of a contemporary crime thriller set in Wales.
He wrote the first episode of The Pact, Cardiff-based Little Door Productions pitched it to BBC Wales and it was quickly commissioned.
Now shooting, the six-part drama directed by Eric Styles (Hidden) and Rebecca Johnson (The Flash) and produced by Catrin Lewis Defis follows five friends who get mixed up in a sudden death and a web of lies.

So, this Friday is the beginning of the three day weekend that usually kicks off Summer vacation time. But with the lockdown somewhat still in effect (parts of the country are testing the “re-opening waters”), every day feels part of a “stay-cation” holiday as the luggage continues to gather new layers of dust in the back of the closet. Well, there’s always a virtual “vacay” via streaming services. Now, we’re not talking about a collection of the old travelogue film shorts we sometimes see between the features on the TCM cable channel. Nope, this is a brand-spanking’ new flick shot before the world changed (nearly to a standstill), but with a couple of most familiar and entertaining guides. We know that because over the last decade we’ve joined them (as a “fly on the wall”), first through the British Isles, then to Italy, again in Spain. Time...

When The Trip first came out, I don’t think anyone necessarily intended for it to become a franchise. However, now four movies later, it has become a very unique beast. About as far removed from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as possible, these flicks are a hybrid of documentary, cooking/travel show, and British sitcom. Somehow, the mixture has worked beautifully, with The Trip to Greece completing the quartet. A very light case of diminishing returns is in evidence here, but this is still a very funny film with a lot to offer, provided you like English humor and admiring good food. If that sounds up your alley, this is going to be a real treat when it hits Digital on Friday. This film is the final installment in The Trip series, beginning with that title (initially having started life as a television show), and continuing with The Trip to Italy,...

"Let me swim to the sirens!" They're back!! For one last travel adventure. IFC Films has unveiled an official trailer for The Trip to Greece, the fourth film in Michael Winterbottom's comedic The Trip series, which launched in 2010 with just The Trip (around the UK). Then followed up with The Trip to Italy in 2014, The Trip to Spain in 2017, and now The Trip to Greece in 2020. Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan return as old friends traveling together, in what is being marketed as their final journey. Though who knows, maybe we'll see another one a few years down the road? There's many more places to go... The Trip to Greece also stars Kareem Alkabbani, Marta Barrio, Rebecca Johnson, and Claire Keelan. These seem to be getting better and better, and they look like so much fun. Plus all the food! And the sights! To die for, right? A much...

Exclusive: UK talent agency InterTalent, run by Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, is reshuffling its TV presenting division following the departure of a number of senior agents.
Deadline understands that a number of agents have left the company over the last few months, leading to changes in representation for a handful of its top stars.
Grant Michaels, who previously ran InterTalent Rights, and Rebecca Johnson are among the agents who have left the agency in recent months, with the pair setting up Encanta Talent Management.
Their departure means that stars including Judge Rinder host Robert Rinder and First Dates star Fred Siriex will now be co-represented by Encanta as well as InterTalent.
Separately, rising star Clara Amfo, who hosts a show on BBC Radio One and presented Top of the Pops on BBC One, has moved to Ymu Group, the company formerly known as James Grant Group.

In just a matter of days, we may very well bear witness to one of the most surreal episodes of The Flash to ever air once “Memorabilia” makes its debut. If you’ve been following along with recent news, then you know this is when Barry and Iris will venture inside Nora’s mind – and no doubt uncover her most deeply guarded secrets in the process.
Basically, this all comes about once Nora tries to do the same to Cicada’s niece, Grace, but gets trapped in that girl’s noggin. And after that calamity arises, Xs’ parents must dive into their own daughter’s brain in order to pull her back to reality. You know, they’ve really had to clean up a lot of her messes as of late.
So far, we haven’t seen much of this trippy experience other than a promo teasing the Reverse-Flash, hinting...

After seeing Cicada getting his ass handed to him for the second time, I imagine it’d be a good idea for him to go into hiding and rethink his game plan. I mean, Killer Frost could easily blast him into oblivion the next time they meet, but the producers need to drag this out until mid-May.
And though the big bad himself may or may not factor into next week’s episode of The Flash, his looming presence will be felt. By that, I’m referring to our heroes attempting to venture into the mind of Cicada’s comatose niece, Grace, only to have the situation go awry when Nora also goes in and seemingly gets stuck. And in doing so, Xs risks her parents stumbling upon her highly guarded secret.

While the crew at Star Labs continue their pursuit for the highly formidable (yet poorly acted) Cicada, another compelling mystery unfolds alongside it. We are, of course, talking about the ongoing situation involving Nora West-Allen and the Reverse-Flash.
Had you tuned in for last night’s midseason premiere for The Flash, then you no doubt saw Xs traveling to 2049 a few times in order to meet with Eobard Thawne at Iron Heights Prison. While there, her father’s greatest foe seemed quite repentant, but my gut says the guy isn’t to be trusted.
Naturally, Nora is trying to keep knowledge of these clandestine rendezvous away from Barry, but it looks like the cat may escape the bag later this month. Here, take a look at the official synopsis for “Memorabilia” and judge for yourself:

Earlier this week we learned that there was an alternate ending for The Predator that would have introduced Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise. If you thought that was interesting, then you’ll probably be interested in learning that a grown up version of Newt, a.k.a. Rebecca Johnson, from James Cameron’s Aliens was a part of another alternate ending that was shot for Shane Black’s film.
Yuri Everson, who worked on The Predator, recently shared a couple of new photos of the alternate ending involving Newt, and they came with the following statement:
"We shot 3 different endings for The Predator, all variations of a 'Predator Killer.' This unused ending was Predator Killer Newt aka Rebecca Jordan wearing the breather mask we created for the film.
