- Jones probably had his biggest success as an actor, writer, producer, and director during his years in Augusta, Maine (1919-21) where he made a series of 2-reelers with Evelyn Brent, Edna May Sperl, Carlton Brickert, and Ben Hendricks, Jr. Four of these films survive.
- Jones signed with Lubin in 1912 and starred in films there til the company went bust in 1916. Several of these 1- and 2-reel films survive. His frequent co-stars included Clara Williams and Louise Huff.
