- Scott Jones lived in the Bay Area of California for 7 years. He's lived in Portland Or., La Habra in Orange County, Ca., Paradise Valley and Tempe Az.. It was at Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Az. that he first found interest in the performing arts. He worked on the school's version of the musical "Applause" in 1972. He pursued a degree in fine arts at Scottsdale City College and Arizona State University where he graduated on the honor roll with a BFA. After a short time volunteering at Scottsdale Center of the Arts in both the Gallery and Theatre, he moved to Los Angeles. There Scott worked at Hollywood Studio Gallery from 1980 until 1988. This is where he became familiar with motion picture, television, and commercial set decorators, art directors and production designers. He worked directly under two production designers, Edward Stephenson and Garvin Eddy doing sales and research. In 1986 he started his own business, "Custom Imagery", dedicated to finding one of a kind and hard to find art objects. He was married in 1986 to Michelle Meredith. They had a son, Nicholas, in 1987. In 1988, the effects of the writers strike sent them packing to Seattle, Washington, where they lived for 2 and a half years. Scott worked in real estate and insurance for a time, but it wasn't long before he was back working on film and commercials. He worked on the feature "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" in the construction department. He then was offered work on the Altman movie, "The Player", being shot in Los Angeles. The family moved again and that was the beginning of Scott's new career in LA. Scott and Michelle divorced in 1997. In 1998 he met Cara Burres, a Paleontologist and Professor in the Life Sciences Department at Pasadena City College.
