Dammit! No out-takes!! Is this really a Rohit Shetty film? Every film of the "Gol Maal" director has so far ended with out-takes giving us entertaining glimpses from during the making of the film. Here those trademark Shetty out-takes are replaced by a Honey Singh track which celebrates Rajnikanth and the lungi.
The rest of the film resembles those typical sambar-and-sandalwood creations by K. Raghvendra Rao, and worse still, Raj Kanwar's "Dhai Akshar Prem Ke" where Aishwarya to escape her parental wrath at her elopement,.

After launching Sonakshi Sinha in Dabangg and giving her perhaps the biggest hit of her career already, Salman Khan has decided to take her brother Luv Sinha under his wing. Luv debuted this year too in Raj Kanwar’s Sadiyaan which did absolutely nothing for his career. For now, Khan has apparently opened his personal gym for Luv in hopes to help him build up a much required physique.
As for Sonakshi, the newbie actress has already been signed up for Dabangg 2, sequel to the blockbuster hit. And upon Salman’s insistence, she has also become a part of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick. The producer, who has previously worked with Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, was more than thrilled to take her on after he saw her performance in Dabangg. It was then that he did something totally out of the ordinary; he went to the Sinha house and asked...

Well, we have had a roller coaster of an Easter Weekend - it all started on Easter Friday when we sat in for Nihal and then hot footed it to the suburbs of Harrow to watch Raj Kanwar's Sadiyaan. We have to say that although the reviews have been mixed, for us it was an absolute pleasure to see to divatastic legends - Hema Malini and Rekha on screen. They were simply superb.
Director Raj Kanwar revealed that the film was inspired by true events told to him by his late mother - a partition tragedy made good. He is a very passionate director who believes that Indian values of emotionalism are the key the success of Bollywood cinema. We were impressed by the candour of the newcomer and leading man Luv Sinha - he seems very focussed and looking forward to developing his craft further and is positive taking all the criticism.

It is deliciously ironical that during the week that our tennis queen Sania Mirza announced she would marry in Pakistan, comes this film where the young desi pair threatens to get married and move to Pakistan.
Life often imitates art. And art is often a close companion of kitsch and melodrama. Kitschy melodrama is attacked by purists. But there's something to be said about a good old-fashioned melodrama like Sadiyaan where the biological and foster mothers, played by Hema Malini and Rekha respectively, vie for a son's love and attention and outdo each other in the sacrificial arena.
They don't make screen-moms like Rekha and Hema any more.
Raj Kanwar induces great dignity into the tussle between the modern day Devaki and Yashodhara. Yup,there's something to be said in favour of nostalgia. Just see how Hema Malini, Rekha and Rishi Kapoor light up the screen in this surprisingly-watchable-in-parts ode to fugitive parenthood.
