Albert Pyun was a beloved B-movie filmmaker who brought audiences a total of 52 films as a director and who recently passed away leaving two upcoming films seemingly unfinished. Looking at his career, the man knew how to create interesting and entertaining films to say the least. His first release was the 1982 film The Sword and the Sorcerer and his newest was the 2018 film Death Heads: Brain Dead. The man seemed unstoppable, and he will be very missed. To celebrate the man and his work, here are 5 of our favorite films from the Pyuniverse.
The Sword and The Sorcerer (1982)
Pyun’s first film as a director, which he co-wrote with Tom Karnowski and John V. Stuckmeyer, The Sword and the Sorcerer is a medieval-esque epic film with magic, sword, babes, and a whole lot more. There’s a ton on here and the film goes in a few different directions, not...

Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, writer-director Rian Johnson’s much anticipated follow-up to Knives Out with Daniel Craig reprising his role as Detective Benoit Blanc.
“Lock the doors,” says Craig’s Blanc in the Agatha Christie-inspired tale set at least in part on a luxury yacht en route to Greece. “Stay in your rooms. Everyone is in danger.”
Adds what sounds like another voice, “All right. Let the murder mystery start.”
With a title that owes much to a classic Beatles song, Glass Onion stars Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick and Madelyn Cline, with Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista. Johnson both writes and directs, and produces with Ram Bergman. Exec producer is Tom Karnowski.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Yep, that's the official title for Rian Johnson's Episode VIII, and the cause for much speculation for the past year. With Rogue One out of the way, and Star Wars Celebration coming up in April (which is likely where we'll see the first teaser trailer), it's time to turn out attention to the next chapter in the numbered Saga:
The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
Sadly, this is all the information we get for now, but it's a doozy. The title could imply many things, but as Snoke referred to...

Coming off of his Ryan Gosling-led crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines, director Derek Cianfrance headed into adaptation (and studio) territory for his next drama. From author M. L. Stedman, The Light Between Oceans follows a lighthouse keeper on a remote island in Australia who, with his wife, rescues a baby they find in a rowboat and raise as their own. Led by Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, and Rachel Weisz, we now have a new full-length trailer.
Showing off more beautiful cinematography by Adam Arkapaw (Macbeth) and diving deeper into the story, it looks like it could be a promising kick-off for the fall slate of dramas. Set for September 2nd, it’ll miss festivals like Tiff, but perhaps we’ll see it show up earlier at Venice or Telluride, or it’ll skip festivals altogether. Check out the new trailer below.
