Along with
Mack Sennett and
Charles Bauman, Kessel was a founding
member of Keystone Films, which was originally formed as a subsidiary of the
New York Motion Picture Company. That company, formed in 1909, lasted until 1914, when it was renamed the New York Motion Picture Corp.
