Exclusive: With Anyone But You having just crossed $100M at the global box office and Top Gun 3 chatter lighting up the internet, Hollywood man of the moment Glen Powell has found his next project in the shape of thriller Huntington from Emily The Criminal writer-director John Patton Ford.
As we revealed last year, Euro studio Studiocanal and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri producer Blueprint are behind the project, which has now attracted Green Book and Spotlight outfit Participant as co-financier with Studiocanal.
We understand A24 is close to finalizing a domestic deal, though none of the parties could confirm at time of going to press.
The partners are aiming for an early summer shoot on the movie, which is described to us as “raucous revenge thriller” about Becket Redfellow (Powell), the heir to a multi-billion-dollar fortune who will stop at nothing to get what he deserves…Or what he thinks he deserves.

In his career, writer-director David Gordon Green has run the gamut from drama (All the Real Girls) to thriller (Undertow) to comedy (Pineapple Express) and even dabbled in a little fant-edy (Your Highness), but now it appears he is looking to add a little sci-fi to his resume. According to THR, Columbia Pictures is in "final negotiations" to acquire the rights to Evan Mandery's latest book, Q: A Novel, and the studio wants Green to write and direct the movie adaptation.
The Harper Collins novel was published in August and tells the story of a man who is visited by his future self and told not to marry "Q," his one true love. Exclusive: In his first foray into TV, former Columbia Pictures chief-turned-producer Matt Tolmach, who produces the upcoming Spider-Man reboot with Avi Arad, has sold a female-driven drama project to CBS with writer Jessica Goldberg (Refuge). Additionally, CBS has bought a drama project with a female lead from the director of the previous 3 Spider-Man movies, Sam Raimi, which is being written by Sarah Thorp (Hawthorne, The Bounty Hunter). Both projects hail from Sony Pictures TV where both Tolmach and Raimi are based through extensions to their Sony pacts on the feature side. The Matt Tolmach/Jessica Goldberg project is titled Sleepers and centers on a woman who has the gift to save “sleepers,” people who are caught somewhere between life and death. Tolmach, who is executive producing with Goldberg, exited his post as co-president of Columbia Pictures in October 2010 to launch a film production company and take on producing duties for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie.
