1915 solo cross-country trek from San Francisco, CA, to New York City.
A race car driver before she turned to acting in 1915, with the
backing of Paramount Pictures boss Jesse L. Lasky, she achieved major national
celebrity status when she became the first woman to drive a car alone
across the US.
On several occasions played racing drivers in her films, doing all her own stunt work.
