Larry King has hit back at claims that he groped singer and actor Eddie Fisher’s ex-wife, Terry Richard, on two separate occasions in the early aughts. Earlier this week, Richard told Daily Mail TV that King groped her on two different occasions, both at baseball awards dinners held at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
Daily Mail TV reports that Richard “said in the first incident, while posing together for a photo, King slid his hand down her backless dress and rested his fingers in between her butt cheeks…Richard claims the second time was also while they were taking a photo together, and King, now 84, squeezed her butt so hard that it left a large bruise.”

The first incident took place in 2005, the second just one year later in 2006. Richard told Daily Mail TV, “Larry King is a groper.

Larry King is denying the groping allegations that have been brought against him by Terry Richard.
On Monday, Richard, who was married to late singer and actor Eddie Fisher from 1975-76, alleged to Daily Mail TV that King groped her on two separate occasions — once in 2005 and another time in 2006 — during baseball awards dinners at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
In a statement obtained by People on Monday, King, 84, said he “flatly and unequivocally denies these claims” and “intends to file suit and prove that they’re utterly false.”

In a past episode of channel control, we talked about a show named Castle Rock. This upcoming 10 episode Hulu original series is a psychological thriller anthology and will be based off the fictional town of the Castle Rock, Maine which has been used in numerous Stephen King Novels. The town has been used as the back drop for The Dead Zone, Cujo, Needful Things, and at least 8 other stories by Mr. King. The town has even been mentioned in over 20 stories including Creepshow, The Stand, Gerald’s Game, & 11/22/63.
In the first teaser, we hear multiple voice-overs as the names of books, movies, or characters from his stories are shown on the screen. It ends with a dark map of the North-Eastern Us and the words Castle Rock across the screen. It’s pretty much standard fare for a teaser, which is nothing more than “Hey! We’re making a show.

A look at 5 movies that you might not have known were written by famous authors. Sometimes they worked out, sometimes they did not.
Writing a movie can be a lot different from writing a book. Unlike a movie script, a novel is freeform. The author can take any style or format they would like to convey their ideas. A script, on the other hand, has to be able to be interpreted by the actors, filmmakers, and the audience. Therefore, it is typically structured in a certain way to help people working on the movie do their job and people watching the movie comprehend what is happening. Furthermore, a major difference between writing novels and movies is that movies are (mostly) restricted to the visual realm. It’s not easy to show audiences what characters are thinking, which severely limits plot and character development techniques. Overall, there are unique challenges to...

I tell ya I’m just loving the internet today. Any time we’re blessed with anything creative involving the works of Stephen King is a good day in my book. Speaking of Mr. King, do you by any chance remember those really weird and creepy TV commercials from back in the day from the Stephen King Library collection? If not, don’t worry I provided you a link to one. The thing is that even if you never read one Stephen King book, often times his novel covers were really hard to forget. And since those commercials tended to air pretty often

When Matt Ruskin was location scouting for his film “Crown Heights,” he would tell the true story of Colin Warner and Carl King. People would say they knew the story, and that they lived right down the block from them. “Different guy, same story,” Ruskin would tell them. Warner was wrongly arrested for a murder he had nothing to do with, and King was a friend who devoted his life to proving Warner’s innocence. Sadly, the actors feel this true story still rings too true today. “You just keep seeing it over and over again. Unfortunately, it’s still timely,...

IndieWire’s Springboard column profiles up-and-comers in the film industry worthy of your attention.
Nnamdi Asomugha has experience with rabid crowds, armchair critics, and the pressure of performing under an intense national spotlight. He did just wrap up his first opening weekend at Sundance, after all. (Oh, and he also played for 10 years in the National Football League.)
The former cornerback shines in Matt Ruskin’s debut film “Crown Heights,” which follows the true story of Collin Warner and Carl King, two friends bonded by decades of friendship in the face of false imprisonment. Asomugha plays King, a New York City process server who spent the better part of 20 years trying to exonerate Warner (Lakeith Stanfield) after the latter was framed for a murder he didn’t commit.
Even amidst a stellar ensemble, which also features Stanfield, Bill Camp and Brian Tyree Henry, the film really comes alive when Asomugha is the main focus.

“Crown Heights” tells the true story of Colin Warner (“Short Term 12’s” Keith Stanfield), a Brooklyn man who was sent to prison for a murder he did not commit. For more than 20 years, Warner’s childhood friend Carl King (former NFL quarterback Nnamdi Asomugha) fights for Warner’s freedom.
Writer-director Matt Ruskin produced the film with Asomugha and Natalie Galazka.

Most films are seen as an escape. A chance to explore unknown universes, meet larger than life characters and bend the laws of reality. But some of the most effective and powerful of films are those based solely on truth and real life stories. Crown Heights shook the Sundance Film Festival Monday night by telling the tragic true story of the injustice against Colin Warner.
Warner was wrongly tried and convicted of 2nd degree murder and sentenced to a potential life sentence in prison. Warner maintained his innocence and, mostly due to not admitting to a crime he didn’t commit, was refused parole and spent 21 years of his life wrongly imprisoned.
Lakeith Stanfield plays Warner and brings an immense level of heart and innocence to a man so let down by this world and the system. Stanfield has been doing incredible work since his feature debut...

Crown Heights didn't have a big budget so aging the cast about two decades wouldn't be easy. Or maybe it was. The independent film follows the true story of Colin Warner (Atlanta's Lakeith Stanfield), a young man from Trinidad who spent 20 years in prison for a 1980 murder in Brooklyn that he didn't commit. Former NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha plays Carl King, Colin's best friend who dedicated his life to proving his innocence. You can't help but notice the eyeglasses that Asomugha wears throughout the movie. "Those were everything," Asomugha, 35, told me at the Sundance Film Festival. "Everybody keeps talking about the glasses, and it was important. And I think...

Based on an unforgettable episode of “This American Life,” Matt Ruskin’s “Crown Heights” dramatizes a remarkable and enduringly relevant miscarriage of justice and the result is a thin, restless film that’s also a thrilling testament to the power of public radio.
Ruskin’s version begins on April 10, 1980, the fateful spring day when an innocent man’s life all but came to an end. Colin Warner (compellingly embodied by “Short Term 12” star Lakeith Stanfield, whose slender frame is strong enough to shoulder much of the movie) is an 18-year-old Trinidad native living in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. He’s arrested for the murder of a local Jamaican teenager named Mark Hamilton. (In real life, Warner reluctantly volunteered himself to a local precinct after they called him in for questioning. In the film, the heavily accented immigrant is chased down by two aggressive cops who corner him...

Stephen King’s 1975 novel Salem’s Lot began life as an unpublished short story (“Jerusalem’s Lot”) while Mr. King was still in college. When he decided to expand it into a novel he posed the question as to what would happen if Count Dracula were to come back in 20th Century America, and his wife Tabitha joked that he would probably get run over by a cab in New York City. It was originally titled Second Coming, however it was changed at the urging of Mrs. King because it sounded like a “bad sex story” (she’s was right, and had a dirty mind to boot!). The 439-page book was then made into an effective TV-movie four years later, premiering in two parts on both November 17 and November 24 on CBS. TV-movies are a completely different animal than theatrical films as they are often shot in a much quicker fashion.

Donald Trump blasted U.S. media as "unbelievably dishonest" in an interview with Larry King on Russian state-owned television on Thursday. During the segment for the Kremlin-funded Rt America, King asked Trump what surprised him the most about running for president. "The dishonesty of the media," Trump replied. "The media has been unbelievably dishonest. I mean, they'll take a statement that you make, which is perfect, and they'll cut it up and chop it up and shorten it or lengthen it, or do something with it, then all of a sudden, it doesn't look like as good as it did when you actually said it.

With Pursuit, writer/director Paul Mercier takes Irish folklore, specifically The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Grainne, and gives it a contemporary spin by taking all the elements of those fanciful stories and building a gangster movie around them. Fionn McCool (Liam Cunningham) is now the aging lieutenant in the gang of Mr. King (Owen Roe), marked for death because he is fast outliving his usefulness. As means of preserving his place by his boss' side, a marriage is arranged between Fionn and King’s much younger daughter, Grannie (Ruth Bradley), but Grannie has other ideas. Wanting to get as far away from her family and new husband as possible, she forces Fionn’s bodyguard Diarmuid (Barry Ward) to run away with her, putting a price on both their heads. Despite the contemporary setting, Pursuit leans quite heavily on the stories that inspired it, with the mythology seeping into every aspect of the story,...

Medical examiners in Las Vegas say there's no evidence late blues legend B.B. King was poisoned before his death, the AP reports. The conclusion comes roughly a month and a half after two of King's daughters, Karen Williams and Patty King, kicked off a homicide investigation, alleging that two of their father's closest aides colluded in a foul-play murder plot. The official cause of death is Alzheimer's disease, in conjunction with such physical conditions as heart failure and type 2 diabetes, according to autopsy findings made public via news reports Monday. "At this point, we can say with confidence that Mr. King died of natural causes," the coroner said in a statement released to NBC News. "Our condolences go out to the family and many friends of Mr. King, and we hope this determination brings them some measure of closure." The murder accusation came around the same time Williams, King, and...

Remember 1994? "Friends," babydoll dresses and that awful "Stand" miniseries starring Molly Ringwald in the most depressing phase of her career. Speaking of the latter, The Wrap has it on good authority (?) that the author's epic 1978 novel will be adapted by "Fault in Our Stars" director Josh Boone as an eight-part TV miniseries followed by a big-deal theatrical motion picture! I love the book and want this to be good, but I don't know, I just don't. But back to 1994. "The Stand" aired as a four-part miniseries and racked up an impressive 19 million viewers a night, despite that fact that it wasn't very good. It was directed by Mick Garris, who to my knowledge has never helmed a decent King adaptation, and written by King himself, who has written many good books. Remember all the ways it was bad? Let us count them with the help of IMDb's army of dedicated users.

The family of blues guitarist and singer B.B. King are alleging that the 89-year-old icon died of poisoning or insufficient medical attention not of natural causes as original May 14 media reports claimed. TheWrap spoke on Monday with his children’s lawyer Larissa Drohobyczer, who said she represents King’s two daughters as well as extended family. Because King is survived by many children and granchildren, Drohobyczer was selected to speak on behalf of the entire family. “The family is structured… Mr. King had so many living children and grandchildren and he elected five to be members of the board and to operate.

Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams are heading to trial after a judge denied their motion for summary judgment in the suit filed by Marvin Gaye’s estate.
Robin Thicke And Pharrell Williams Lose Round 1
In 2013, Gaye’s children, the heirs to his estate, filed suit against Thicke and Williams regarding their hit song, “Blurred Lines,” which they claim was copied from Gaye’s 1977 “Got To Give It Up.” Following a series of depositions, in which Thicke admitted he barely contributed to the writing of the song, U.S. District Court Judge John Kronstadt ruled that there was enough evidence to show that “elements of ‘Blurred Lines’ may be substantially similar to protected, original elements of ‘Got to Give It Up.’”
Kronstadt’s ruling allows the lawsuit to move forward and a court date has been set for Feb. 10, 2015.

The following recap, by the very definition of the word “recap,” contains spoilers from Under the Dome‘s Season 2 finale.
CBS’ Under the Dome, as Season 2 drew to a close, kinda sorta evoked Stephen King’s The Shining — and in doing so, the summertime drama took its first major step into channeling some of Mr. King’s horror themes.
The finale also teased (barely) what any possible third season would look like.

Then during the after party, they went to the Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyard in Malibu, which is the same place they shot the Soulja Boy video last season with Des. Tonight's premiere show, kicked off with current Bachelorette, Andi Dorfman's, intro footage. From there, she talked with host, Chris Harrison, about the type of dude she hopes to find before meeting all of them when they rolled up in the limo. Some of them offered up silly gimmicks as usual and some them seemed ,at least, half sane. After a break, they showed footage of Andi, mingling with the fellas. Everything seemed to be going well. Then at one point, former Emily Maynard Bachelorette contestant ,Chris Bukowski, showed up, wanting to vy for Andi's affections, but she turned him down, saying it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the guys. However, Chris refused to leave when Chris Harrison told him the bad news. However, Chris did eventually go on his merry, little way. At one point, Andi, decided to give Nick V the "first impression" rose just before the Rose ceremony.

St. Louis (AP) — Blues guitarist B.B. King wants his St. Louis fans to give him another chance after an erratic performance led to a stream of audience catcalls and early departures. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer issued a public apology on Tuesday for what his publicists called "a bad night for one of America's living blues legends." The written statement says King, 88, and his band had returned from a four-week break before the April 4 show at the Peabody Opera House. The band drove straight to eastern Missouri from Las Vegas, a 24-hour, 1,600-mile trip each way. And King missed his daily dosage of diabetes medicine, which elevated his blood sugar. "The combination of the rigors of the very long drive and high blood sugar due to his medication error resulted in a performance that did not match Mr. King's usual standard of excellence," reads the statement, which...

Stephen King once referred to his works as the literary equivalent of a Big Mac and fries - or words to that effect - and in his author's notes of this particular novel - he says when he sits down to write a story, he sets out first and foremost to tell a kickass story.
So with keeping these points in mind, Mr. King pretty much succeeds in telling an entertaining story that manages to be fairly engaging and satisfying.
What people need to realize first before cracking open this book is that it's not going to live up to your hype and dreams - forget it, jump off that hype train - because you're only going to come away dissatisfied that it didn't meet any of your possibly wild expectations. Recently we had the opportunity to sit down for a brief chat with renowned actress Annabeth Gish (The X-Files, Brotherhood) to discuss her role in Sony’s forthcoming DVD release Stephen King’s Bag of Bones, a four-hour miniseries based on Stephen King’s iconic bestselling supernatural thriller which debuts on DVD on Monday August 19th, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Aaron Mk: The original Stephen King novel Bag of Bones won the Bram Stoker award for best novel in 1998, and has since gone on to record sales, how much pressure was the crew under to do the source material justice?
Annabeth Gish: I don’t think it was really the crew’s responsibility for that, I think it was more Mick [Garris] and the writing team who felt that pressure. But the script was so tight once we went to production, that [it was the crew's goal] to be faithful to what we saw on the script pages.

[Spoiler Alert!! If you have not seen the pilot episode, this review contains numerous spoilers.]
Stephen King's teleplays for his many mini-series (usually three to six episodes) have ranged from superb ("Storm of the Century," "The Shining") to good ("It," "The Stand") to silly but fun ("The Langoliers"). However, his work has never been turned into a full-season TV series until now. And if he and the other writers can sustain the level of intrigue and character development of the pilot episode, they may have a hit on their hands.
Set in the present day, the first half of the pilot introduces us to our primary characters, who are either denizens of or passing through Chester's Mill, a small town in Anywhere, U.S.A. the episode opens with one man burying another, clearly surreptitiously. We learn that the burier is nicknamed "Barbie," and was hoping to do his business and leave quickly. We next see high school grad sweethearts Junior (that's his name) and Angie having sex.
