CNN senior reporter Dylan Byers apologized (sort of) on Tuesday night after launching one of the more memorably tone-deaf takes on the current epidemic of sexual harassment allegations against big media figures. “Beyond the pain/humiliation women have endured (which is of course the paramount issue), it’s worth taking stock of the incredible drain of talent from media/entertainment taking place right now,” he wrote. “Never has so much talent left the industry all at once.” Also Read: Trump Again Slams 'Ungrateful Fool' Lavar Ball: 'Poor Man's Version of Don King' Byers, who joined CNN in 2015 after covering media for Politico,...

Hollywood’s love affair with boxing, underdog stories, and the struggles of the common man continues with Chuck, a true story which manages to breathe some fresh life into the well-worn genre. Liev Schreiber stars as Chuck Wepner, a New Jersey boxing hero in the early ‘70s, who’d earned the nicknamed ‘The Bayonne Bleeder’ (the film’s original, better title) because of the copious amounts of blood he’d lose during an average fight. In 1975 legendary boxing promoter Don King informed Chuck’s manager Al Braverman (Ron Perlman) that Muhammed Ali was looking to fight a white heavyweight after the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ and Wepner happened to be the highest ranking one around. Ali was expected to make quick work of Wepner, but The Bleeder surprised everyone by going the distance and even knocking The Champ down (the fight was called in Ali’s favor 19 seconds before the...

Liev Schreiber totally transforms himself into boxer Chuck Wepner in the conventional biopic “Chuck,” a movie about a man known for being able to take many punches. Wepner was nicknamed “the Bayonne bleeder” because he usually lost a lot of blood in the ring without getting knocked out, which is partly why he was picked by promoter Don King to fight against Muhammad Ali for the World’s heavyweight title in 1975. “Chuck” details Wepner’s home life before that famous fight and his relationship with his wife Phyllis (Elisabeth Moss), a postal worker who is continually getting angry about Wepner’s philandering.

When Muhammad Ali passed away on June 4th, 2016, those who knew him, admired him, fought him and loved him attested to his singular skill as a boxer, his fleet footwork and his way with words (especially of the trash-talking variety). What was often emphasized the most in these tributes, however, was how Ali was as much a political firebrand as a gamechanging pugilist – both the 20th century's consummate athlete and a social activist willing to sacrifice his career by standing up for what he believed. One of the biggest disservices a biopic can do to its audience is to rubber-stamp public perceptions of historical events. These films often revolve around that person’s defining moment, the first line in their obituary. In trying to squeeze a half-dozen life stories into its running time, “Hands of Stone,” the new film about legendary Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán, magnifies that disappointing mistake.
Durán, played here by Édgar Ramírez, rose to prominence in the late 1960s, after his fighting ability caught the attention of patrons within the country and trainers from without. From Durán’s childhood days through the heights of his professional career, “Hands of Stone” drags in a bevy of supporting players meant to buttress the boxer’s complicated arc, but instead pull focus at each successive turn.
Both friend and foil to Durán, down-and-out trainer Ray Arcel (Robert DeNiro) is painted as a sage dispenser of pugilistic truths.

He had been a doo-wop singer in Brooklyn, but that has no relevance to this topic. As it comes to us all, Larry died last year.

Famous figures are often accused of getting off lightly when they commit a criminal offence – with many believing celebrities’ public profile wrongfully permits them greater leniency in the eyes of the law.
Although it may still not be entirely ethical if a celebrity gets off lightly for a minor offence like speeding on the motorway or possessing drugs, it is certainly not acceptable for them to be shown leniency if they are complicit in someone’s death just because they are famous.
Yet, in some cases, the opposite can be true – and famous figures can be made an example of when they commit such serious offences in order for the authorities to prove that they are tough on crime, no matter who the perpetrator is.

For the heavyweight champion whose knockout punches all but left his opponents' grandchildren limping, Mike Tyson comes off as surprisingly mellow and vulnerable.
The craziness that once swirled around him appears gone. His seersucker jacket is incongruous with the face tattoo, but Tyson is a study in unusual combinations, as revealed in "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth," airing on HBO Saturday, Nov. 16.
Tyson, 47, slides his massive body onto a chair next to director Spike Lee for an hour-long exclusive lunch with Zap2it. They're at a table in the back of a restaurant at the Beverly Hilton, where in wilder times, Tyson lived in a penthouse.
The film is a stage-to-screen adaptation of Tyson's raw play, which had a limited Broadway run. In it, he doesn't shy from uglier topics such as biting off opponent Evander Holyfield's ear.

That, and the multiple artful shots of Tyson's beloved pigeons.

You can pretend that Big Brother 15 is headed toward an anticlimax now that three of its most polarizing and arguably subhuman players — Aaryn, Amanda, and Elissa — have left the house, but can you honestly guess where this competition is headed? I definitely can’t. I’m perplexed and amused by the remaining quintet, especially when I remember that all five surviving houseguests have both every reason and no reason to win the whole thing. It’s a strange situation that makes perfect sense once you realize this house was filled with players who played too much game too early. Remember Helen‘s diabolical plans? Not really, right?
But I’m here to remind you that one remaining houseguest deserves our complete support. Yep, I do mean Andy, the guy I keep on touting like I’m Don King sitting ringside at his diary room confessionals. He’s got to win this,...

Mark "Coonrippy" Brown rocketed to Internet stardom after videos of him and his pet raccoon Gunshow dancing to Aretha Franklin went viral on YouTube. Today, however, Brown is fighting to regain custody of his second raccoon pet, Rebekah, who was taken from him by state wildlife officials two week ago.
Brown, a native of Gallatin, Tenn., said he originally adopted Rebekah after she was accused of eating a local school's chickens, according to News Channel 5. After Gunshow died earlier this year, Rebekah starred in her own series of YouTube videos, where she can be seen hanging out -- and even showering -- with Brown.
The pair's unlikely friendship came to an abrupt halt, however, after officials from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency showed up to confiscate Rebekah in late July, according to local ABC affiliate Wate.

“What do you think?” asks an inquisitive Pedro Almodóvar, his voice hoarse from constant interviews and his white hair characteristically untamed, like he’s the Don King of foreign film. His question is in response to my own, about why he’s fascinated with sex between partners wherein one of them is asleep, a phenomenon seen in Bad Education and the director’s libidinous, screwball latest, I’m So Excited. It’s at once jarring, thrilling, and humbling to have Almodóvar request your thoughts on his creative motives. Perhaps I should have asked him something else, something less tied to the many interpretations he himself …...

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the live rounds are finally here. I want to know how everyone feels. Was it good to see Noted Diplomat Carson Daly speak rapid Spanish? Was it neat to stay awake during Usher and Adam Levine’s airless performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”? Did you like it when Blake was obviously drinking a cocktail inside of a Starbucks latte cup? Of course you liked it!Usher’s Team: “Black and Gold”Before his team’s performance, Usher made them all go to a boxing gym and throw medicine balls at each other. There is apparently going to be a training montage, à la Rocky 4, before all of these awkward group extravaganzas, and Usher took his very literally. The best part of this thing was that everyone was wearing the red sneakers that Usher himself wears all the time. A laconic Don King/Carson Daly...

After losing its way in a shower of bullets, the Die Hard franchise is looking to Rocky for an elegant end to the story
There are probably a million reasons why Die Hard 6 should never be made. Die Hard 5 was terrible. Bruce Willis is too old. John McClane is no longer a recognisable human being. Every time anybody makes a sequel to Die Hard, you feel like your childhood is being stabbed directly in the heart. And so on.
However, it seems that no amount of logic is enough to stop Die Hard 6 from happening. According to reports, Die Hard 6 not only has a prospective title, Die Hardest, but a location, too. This time John McClane will apparently get to wisecrack and explode his way across Tokyo before – as is now traditional in the series – collapsing in an exhausted heap, oblivious to all the sustained human death...

Indianapolis — Mike Tyson the entertainer is coming back to the city that put him in prison.
The boxer once dubbed as the "Baddest Man on the Planet" is settling into his new role as the star of a one-man, 36-city road show called "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth."
Now 46, Tyson hopes to show city residents Wednesday night he's a very different person than the one they remember – the brash young heavyweight champion who was convicted of raping an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant and then spent three life-changing years behind bars in the 1990s. Helicopters were on hand for his release from prison in 1995, and he hasn't been back since.
"At the time, I was living a pretty hectic life and pretty wild and I don't know what would have happened if I had three more years of that life," Tyson told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from Las Vegas.
