- Added his middle initial to his screen name to avoid receiving fan mail intended for David Hasselhoff addressed to the name Michael Knight. (the name of Hasselhoff's character on the TV series Knight Rider).
- Michael E. Knight was married to Catherine Hickland who was married to David Hasselhoff. David Hasselhoff played Michael Knight on "Knight Rider". Catherine Hickland also made a couple of guest appearances on the show. Justin Bruening who played Michael E. Knight's son on "All My Children" would go on to play Michael Knight on the remake of "Knight Rider".

- The first of six recipients to win two Daytime Emmys for Younger Actor (Tad, AMC: 1986/1987) during the category's existence from 1985-2019, along with GL's Kevin Mambo, GH's Jonathan Jackson, GL's Tom Pelphrey, DAYS' Chandler Massey, and GH's Bryan Craig. Jackson and Massey ended up three-peating.
