This article contains spoilers for all of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the show titled after her are both cultural icons. Buffy is one of those series that most sci-fi, fantasy, and horror fans have some kind of awareness of even if they have never watched an episode. It kick-started the careers of Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg, and David Boreanaz as Angel.
The series was also stuffed to the brim with memorable moments, from the hilarious (Buffy trying to mime staking a vampire in “Hush”), to the kick-ass (Buffy taking out the Judge with a rocket launcher in “Innocence”), to the gut-wrenching (Buffy finding Joyce in “The Body”). But there is one moment that stands out above all the others and embodies what the show is about.
It is the making of the character of Buffy, it is a mission statement for the show,...

Legendary country star Dolly Parton was an uncredited executive producer on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, as the show came from her production company Sandollar Productions, which she co-founded with her former manager, Sandy Gallin. So if there’s anyone who should have an idea of what’s going on with the Buffy reboot that was announced some years back, it’s Dolly – and she said it’s still in the works.
Five and a half years have gone by since it was announced that a reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in development with Monica Owusu-Breen, co-creator of the TV show Midnight, Texas, writing, executive producing, and serving as showrunner. It was said that the new show would be “contemporary, building on the mythology of the original”. Pursuit of Freedom is deeply rooted in Christianity and while I am not religious myself. I can’t deny the fact that the film shows its story of faith in a very charming way. The George A. Johnson film follows the incredible true story of Anna (Jessica Koloian), a Ukranian mother of three who goes through hell when she is kidnapped by local mobsters and sold into prostitution and sexual slavery.
After nearly three years of enslavement, Anna is left for dead on the side of the road by the mobsters after she becomes ill and is no longer attractive to clients. After weeks of lying unconscious, Anna awakens in a hospital in Amsterdam where she is helped by a kind nurse Naomi (Sharonne Lanier), who reads Anna passages from the Bible and leads her on the path of Christ.

Alyson Hannigan was brilliant in the role of Willow Rosenberg on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, which ran for a total of seven seasons and 144 episodes, beginning in 1997 and wrapping up in 2003… But she didn’t join the show until the pilot was reshot, replacing the previously cast Riff Regan as Willow. And during an interview with Shut Up Evan, Melanie Lynskey confirmed that she was also a potential Willow.
Interviewer Evan Ross Katz had been told by Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar that the show’s creator Joss Whedon had envisioned Lynskey (only known from Heavenly Creatures at the time) as Willow when he was writing the pilot script, but Lynskey, who is from New Zealand, couldn’t audition because there was an issue with her visa. Katz asked Lynskey about that and she replied, “It is basically true. It was kind of a visa issue, but...

Pursuit of Freedom is a film directed by George A. Johnson and stars Jessica Koloiano and Stelio Savante.
This is a movie about human rights in the face of bureaucracy.
Jessica Koloian and Stelio Savante are exceptional actors in a movie that is above all, very humane.
Storyline
A woman is attacked and her children are kidnapped by a group of criminals because of bad debts of her husband which she has been separated from for years and she will not stop until she gets her kids back.
Movie Review Pursuit of Freedom (2022)

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" isn't a show for the faint of heart. Throughout its seven seasons, the characters go through some of the most horrific experiences imaginable -- coping with grief, loss, loneliness, and every existential problem under the sun. Despite its supernatural settings, the series wonderfully grounds these experiences in a recognizable reality.
The Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring series is a high school coming-of-age tale and a supernatural drama. Buffy (Gellar) and the rest of the Scooby Gang spend most episodes fighting off some non-human threat to their town while dealing with typical high school problems -- homework, school dances, dating, and the like.
This same parity applies to the tragedies of "Buffy." Yes, the death of a loved one at the hands of supernatural forces is sad, but so is your boyfriend breaking up with you before prom. As Buffy once told Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) just before her most heroic act,...

We are living in an age of TV show revivals. By the end of this month, Night Court will even be back on the air. But don’t get your hopes up for a revival of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that would bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back in the title role. While speaking with SFX Magazine (via Movieweb), Gellar said she wouldn’t want to play Buffy ever again.
When asked if she’s interested in reprising the role, Gellar answered, “I’m not. I am very proud of the show that we created and it doesn’t need to be done. We wrapped that up. I am all for them continuing the story, because there’s the story of female empowerment. I love the way the show was left: ‘Every girl who has the power can have the power.’ It’s set up perfectly for someone else to have the power.

Four years have passed since it was announced that a reboot of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series was in the works with Monica Owusu-Breen, co-creator of the TV show Midnight, Texas, writing, executive producing, and serving as showrunner. And since four years have gone by without any further word on the reboot, a lot of fans have probably forgotten that announcement had even happened. (I sure did.) So it’s no surprise to hear from Owusu-Breen’s fellow executive producer Gail Berman (via TV Line) that the reboot is “on pause”.
After the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot was announced, Owusu-Breen sent out the following statement:
For some genre writers it’s Star Wars.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my Star Wars.
Before I became a writer, I was a fan. For seven seasons, I watched Buffy Summers grow up, find love, kill that love. I watched her fight,...

Dedicated to every woman who ever had an abortion and regretted it for the rest of her life, "Unplanned" is the new dramatic feature written, directed by Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon, based on a memoir by Abby Johnson, a former 'Planned Parenthood' employee, starring Ashley Bratcher, Brooks Ryan, Robia Scott, Jared Lotz and Emma Elle Roberts, now playing:
"...'Abby Johnson' one of the youngest 'Planned Parenthood' clinic directors in the Us, where baby body parts are routinely harvested, is asked to assist in an ultrasound-guided abortion at thirteen weeks gestation.
"After witnessing the gruesome procedure, Johnson becomes an anti-abortion activist and founds a group to assist former Planned Parenthood employees who turned against abortion after similar experiences..."

“Unplanned” isn’t a good movie, but it’s effective propaganda — or, at least, it is if you belong to the group it’s targeting: those who believe that abortion in America, though a legal right, is really a crime. It’s hard to imagine the movie drawing many viewers outside that self-selected demographic. “Unplanned” preaches to the pro-life choir, and it does so by making a case against abortion that’s absolutist and extreme, at certain points twisting “facts” into a narrative of conspiracy. (Planned Parenthood is portrayed as a corporation as profit-driven as Standard Oil.)
But “Unplanned” also does a skillful job of using religious piety to conceal its underlying political agenda. The film is based on a memoir by Abby Johnson, an anti-abortion activist who worked for eight years in a Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan, Texas. She started off as a volunteer, ushering women from their...

Once upon a time, there was a goofy little show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s first TV outing, a mid-season replacement that only contained 12 episodes, premiered to mixed responses. Whilst the potential was clearly there, it was easy to write it off as just a little too silly, a little too… odd. Nevertheless, it was granted a Season Two, which premiered on September 15th, 1997.
And this is where shit got serious.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 is truly a remarkable season of television. This is the year when the writers realised that not only were they making something special here, but that they were capable of producing some incredible content. Whilst the first half does maintain some of the less than impressive traits of Season One, such as poor quality filler episodes (containing mummies) and some rather rubbish bad guys (the zombie from episode 2 and literally everything to...

“In every generation, there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the Vampires, the Demons, and the Forces of Darkness. She is the Slayer.”
There must be about a million films, stories and TV related content that contains one particular scene. A vulnerable young woman, running for her life, terrified of whomever, or whatever, is pursuing her. She is utterly helpless to prevent her oncoming, horrible death – and most of the time is scantly clad. The scenario ends one of two ways – she either meets a terrible fate, or ends up getting saved by a dashing, Harrison Ford look alike male hero. Rinse, lather, repeat.
It once looked like that would be all we’d get from female characters in horror related productions. That was, until, a young writer came along named Joss Whedon, who decided that enough was enough. He had an idea of a young woman...

I'd sing, "Happy Birthday," but like the course of true love, Buffy birthdays never did run smooth, so this is decidedly an anniversary celebration, instead. Twenty years ago today, on Monday, March 10, 1997, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show premiered on the now defunct netlet, The WB. Television, and the internet too, have never been the same. Check out our epic BtVS picspam from the two part premiere episodes, "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and "The Harvest," (with a promo shot and bonus screencaps from later episodes, all courtesy of screencapped.net).From creator Joss Whedon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer starred Sarah Michelle Gellar in the title role. Grrr arggg! Into every generation an excellent TV show is born: One show in all the world. The Chosen One.
It’s been 20 years since Buffy Summers, Mr. Pointy, The Bronze, and Giles’ always-smudged spectacles graced our small screens, and the world has never been the same (mostly because she saved it… a lot).
There were plenty of quips (“Out. For. A. Walk. B**ch.”), tears (Spike’s undying devotion, sob), and frights (bunnies, plus demons and stuff), but Buffy the Vampire Slayer was so much more than that.
The Joss Whedon masterpiece created several feminist icons, spoke to addiction struggles, portrayed the first lesbian sex scene on broadcast television, showed that vampires were sexy long before Twilight and made it ok to wear pink leather pants in public… well, sort of.
Whether you were Team Angel, Team Spike or kind of just wanted Giles and Joyce to get together, the show had...

Television shows didn't invent the idea of a Christmas miracle, but they sure help remind us that come Dec. 25, there's a chance that whatever woe and strife we're facing could vanish in a single, magical instant. And while not every show has a Christmas moment – and not every Christmas episode delivers a miracle – we thought we'd celebrate the season with 15 of our favorites.
1. The Brady Bunch
We're kicking off the list with "The Voice of Christmas," a first-season episode of The Brady Bunch that frankly it has it all: Santa Claus, a church, a child's steadfast belief in the power...

It's a bit weird, typing this review up at the tail end of February. I feel like I should be wearing some brightly coloured party hat while finding at least three Christmas songs that I can actually stand (for the record, Ring Out Solstice Bells by Jethro Tull, Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses and for some bizarre reason, Macca's festive cheese-fest Wonderful Christmastime are the only festive musical choices that don't make me want to take an axe to the pub stereo in December). Because Santa Joss is in town, delivering many a festive gift to all Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans with the episode, Amends.
Christmas episodes are always tricky things. There's the danger that they pile on the schmaltz and overdo the usual festive clichés. So, how does Amends stand up in this regard? To be honest, it's not a Buffy episode that I'd have readily picked as...

Rupert Giles. Champion of the piping hot, meaty drink and tweed suits. The archetypal Brit abroad, complete with Hugh Grant-esque clucking when embarrassed and a confused frown at American colloquialisms.
Even his friends are queuing up to poke the fun, on today of all days. Buffy scoffs that he wore tweed diapers (that's nappies to the Brits); Xander is reeling from the horror of mentioning Giles and orgies in the same sentence; even Giles' beau, Jenny calls him a fuddy duddy. Such a rock solid square clearly isn't capable of harbouring a dark past.
You would have thought so, anyway, but as it turns out, Giles is no stranger to the dark side. His shady history has happened to have caught up with him in a big way in the latest episode called The Dark Age. You know how some people just turn out to be unwanted acquaintances rather than friends?...

Back in the 1970s, there used to be a trend for cartoons to follow the same ghostly mystery pattern. Week in, week out, the set-up would run along the same lines of a group of teens investigating a ghostly mystery with the aid of a quirky but lovable sidekick. Scooby Doo. Goober. The Shmoo. Three good examples of this tried and tested brand, and the cause of many a happy childhood memory for thirty and forty somethings.
Of course a cynic would say that this set-up could get a bit samey, but then, these cartoons only lasted between 10 and 20 minutes. If you're trying to do something for 45 minutes though, there's a chance that this argument might hold water.

Summer is a Bummer? Not on your Noah and Nelly. The sun comes out. Lazy weekends sitting in the garden or the park with an ice cool beer or wine. Long, warm nights when the sun doesn't go down till 10. What could be better? For the residents of Sunnydale, however, it seems that Summer ain't all that. Xander's restless. Hank Summers is forced to cough up multiple dollar bills for his daughter's extensive shoe collection. Buffy herself is on another planet. Mentally speaking, of course. Possibly, the doom of a dormant Hellmouth subtly hypnotises people into thinking that the gloomy misery of Winter is a preferable choice to sunny, carefree days.
When she was bad sees us back for the shiny and new term at Sunnydale. You can tell that it's a new chapter in the big Buffy book, given that there's a few new subtle tweaks. Xander and Buffy have had haircuts.
