- Mark Lane was born on February 24, 1927 in the USA. He was a writer and producer, known for Executive Action (1973), Rush to Judgment II and Two Men in Dallas (1976). He died on May 10, 2016 in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA.
- Represented the cult known as the People's Temple, led by Jim Jones. Lane was one of the few people to survive the 1978 mass suicide of over 900 members of the cult, including Jones, in Jonestown, Guyana, which became known as the Jonestown Massacre.
- Attorney who was one of the earliest challengers to the findings of the Warren Commission stating that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
- Mark Lane was a state legislator in New York when he was arrested at the airport in Jackson, Mississippi for his participation in a Freedom Ride from Montgomery, Alabama to Jackson, Mississippi on 8 June 1961. Lane went on to serve as a defense attorney for both Lee Harvey Oswald, following the assassination of John F. Kennedy, as well as James Earl Ray, following his assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.
