Night Gallery: Season 3 DVD Available Now
The third and final season (1972–73) of Rod Serling’s underrated series finally comes to DVD. Season 3 (with episodes downsized to half an hour) is generally considered inferior to the first two years, but it still contains several classic episodes. Best of all, Jim Benson and Scott Skelton, co-authors of Rod Serling’s Night Gallery: An After-Hours Tour, helped put together a “lost” episode featuring four segments that were heavily altered for syndication. Guest stars this season include Mickey Rooney, Vincent Price, Burgess Meredith and gorgeous Joanna Pettet (The Evil).

If Neil Labute and Nicolas Cage’s 2006 remake of The Wicker Man only reinforced the greatness of the 1973 original, director Robin Hardy’s sequel to his horror classic has the opposite effect. Strangely inept and less frightening than a PG-13 Screen Gems teen genre tale, it causes one to wonder if maybe their memories of the original The Wicker Man are fuzzy.
Based on his book Cowboys for Christ, writer-director Hardy’s story begins in Dallas. Beth Boothby (Brittania Nicol) is a Taylor Swift-like pop/country music star. Only she is even more wholesome. Along with her boyfriend Steve (Henry Garrett), Beth is going to travel to that den of hedonism we know as Scotland. The devout couple (they are saving themselves for marriage) will spend two years spreading the word of Jesus.
Of course, viewers know that Beth and Steve are doomed as soon as they set foot in Scotland.

Opening in theaters January 27th, watch two clips from The Wicker Tree – “Prayer” (featuring Graham McTavish) and “May Queens” (featuring Brittania Nicol). This sequel is written and directed by Robin Hardy as a companion piece to his 1973 classic cult thriller The Wicker Man. A highly entertaining film too I might add, but do yourself a favor and bypass the inferior Nic Cage version from 2006.
Check out the film’s trailer below.
When two young missionaries (Brittania Nicol, Henry Garrett) head to Scotland, they are initially charmed by their engaging baron Sir Lachlan Morrison (Graham McTavish) and agree to become the local Queen of the May and Laddie for the annual Tressock town festival. But the couple is not prepared for the frightening consequences of their decision and the very disturbing secrets they are about to discover about Tressock’s seemingly friendly townspeople.

Set to be a far-fetched sequel to the classic 1973 film, The Wicker Man, The Wicker Tree is about two missionaries sent from the church to change the pagan ways of the young women in the village of Tresscott. It will be released on Anchor Bay Entertainment and set for a limited theatrical run on January 27th 2012 followed by and immediate DVD/Blu-Ray release.
As of now the only thing that may bode well for the film is that is directed by the original director of The Wicker Man, Robin Hardy, but outside of that I’m not sure how audiences will approach it. The film stars Brittania Nicol, Henry Garrett, Sir Lachlan Morrison, Jacqueline Leonard, Clive Russell and has a brief cameo by Christopher Lee.
Below, you can find some new stills from the upcoming film as well as the trailer. Be warned, one of the photos is Nsfw.

News, news! ShockTilYouDrop has gotten their hands on the official one-sheet for the ‘spiritual sequel’ to Robin Hardy’s 1973 horror classic, The Wicker Man. The film which is said to not be a sequel or remake, but treading along the same themes and concepts, is a companion piece to the original The Wicker Man. Check out the creepy poster below:
The film is based largely on Hardy’s 2006 novel Cowboys For Christ, which focuses on Texas pop star turned gospel singer, Beth (Brittania Nicol) and her cowboy boyfriend, Steve (Henry Garrett), both devout evangelical Christians from the church Cowboys for Christ, sent on a mission to spread the word of God to the people of Scotland. The film also includes Jacqueline Leonard, Honeysuckle Weeks, Clive Russell and most notably Lord Summerisle himself, Christopher Lee. (Though it is unknown if Lee will be returning as Summerisle or a different role altogether.

Writer-director Robin Hardy - director of the original The Wicker Man , not the Nic Cage disaster (the fact I have to continuously say that scares me) - is previewing his companion piece, The Wicker Tree at the Aberystwyth Horror Film Festival this Sunday. He's showing off 12 minutes of the film to an audience in Aberystwyth, says the BBC. Further, it looks as if UK audiences can expect to see Tree in theaters as soon as next spring. Graham McTavish, Brittania Nichol, Henry Garrett, Christopher Lee, Honeysuckle Weeks and Jacqueline Leonard star in the follow-up. Shock Till You Drop was on the set of Hardy's film, read all about that in our exclusive set report .

We don't know when the film will get released, but TheWickerTreeMovie.com says 2010. Shock Till You Drop stopped by Hardy's set last year, check out our full report right here . Last Friday at New York City’s 92YTribeca, fans of Robin Hardy’s 1973 British horror classic The Wicker Man got a special treat. Not only was a 35mm print of the movie screened with Hardy in attendance, but the director unveiled 10 minutes of clips from his latest feature The Wicker Tree (formerly known as Cowboys For Christ). Fango got a chance to speak with Hardy exclusively about the new project, which was partially encouraged by the misbegotten 2006 remake of The Wicker Man starring Nicolas Cage.
“It had been in my mind to do another movie,” Hardy says, “and when they made the Nicolas Cage version, I thought they missed the point of the first film completely. I say point, but I mean points, really. They just used the plot and threw away all the atmosphere and charm, the things which lulled you into a sense of this being a marvelous,...
