Ms. Locke became the toast of Broadway's 1937 season when she starred
with
John Garfield in "Having a
Wonderful Time", the
Arthur Kober comedy.
She was critically acclaimed as Ophelia in the
Maurice Evans production of "Hamlet". Her
other Broadway plays included "Fifth Column," with
Lee J. Cobb, and "Clash by Night", with
Tallulah Bankhead.
